- hey guys....I purchased not 1 but 2 boxes to support Huntington's Disease Society of America - Central Ohio chapter through Simon Says Stamp mystery box sale. They had $50 and $150 boxes available and as of today, the $50 boxes are still available. I loved all the goodies that i received and cannot wait to play with all the fun stuff too.

I just opened my $150 box, and in all honesty I was a bit disappointed. There was a Duplicate CC die, so not happy about that. I always feel like CC is just getting rid of the dies that don't sell. Maybe I can pass some things on to my daughter. But it's a good cause.
Thought I was the only one who felt disappointed at this years box. I got one last year and it was much better…had to keep reminding myself it was for a good cause but I may reconsider getting one next.
i'm with you...not sure i'll use all the dies i received, but i might hold on to them for a bit just to make sure before i pass them on myself.
i didn't participate last year, but watched a few videos when making my decision this year and i agree....wish there was more stamps or at least a balance in product options.
I know this was for a fundraiser and I never purchased one last year either but was tempted to do so when I saw someone else’s video. Decided to pass since I spent a fortune on Stamptember and had to replace my die cutting machine. I opt to just donate on the website instead. Wanted to support my favorite stamp company anyway I can. Sorry to hear the disappointment in many others boxes.

I didn’t buy a box, and after seeing yours, I’m glad I didn’t. I believe SSS took the easy (and lazy) way out by including the duplicates, like the washi and collage paper. Also, they should have made it clear that you would likely receive duplicates (or 5 of the same exact product!) if you ordered more than one box. Not a big fan of SSS and this is an example of why.
I'm glad my video helped you and I agree...I participated for the curiosity and cause and felt after seeing past videos for this event i might receive some items in particular....was hoping for more stamps than dies....have a crafty day!
I felt they ere getting rid of overstock. I’ll donate directly next year.
Too much Tim Holtz stuff that most cardmakers don't use! Not really a fan of Crafters Companion, either. If I had received either package, I would have been very, very disappointed. There are few things in either box I would use. The only thing(s) I would really like are the SSS ink pads. (I just ordered the Crafty Surprise box, so hope it is better...YIKES!) As has been said, better to view it as simply a donation.
I saw that on their site this weekend and due to this box am hesitant to try it out. Let me know if your box was WAY better than their donation box. Curious! But I pray it is! :)
@@kashellcreations I WILL let you know. I have never ordered any type of surprise box from any company before, so this is new to me. I did watch some previous Black Friday box openings and I thought the contents in those boxes were excellent. Of course, there were a few things that were not my personal taste - that's to be expected. But there was a great deal of real value, lots of background stamps in particular, some nice florals (can never have too many of those!).. Not sure what criteria they use for either the Huntington's boxes or these Black Friday ones. I am hopeful!
@@kashellcreations It's here! First, kudos to SSS for the amazingly quick delivery! I am very pleased with the contents of this box! Lots of TH/Ranger: set of 3 mini Distress Pastes, full-size snowfall Grit Paste, mini Glow Paste (all new to me, not sure how much I would use them but looking forward to playing with them and learning). Also, bundled sage embossing glaze, set of 3 Halloween mica sprays; small bottle of tattered rose distress paint; pkg of black matte alcohol ink paper; Holiday Set #4 Distress crayons; pkg of window frames and "ribbons and bows" adornment (won't use either of those). Random roll of pink ribbon. SSS tools: craft tacky glue, green Pawsitively everything tool, craft glue stick, hot hands (glad to get these-will use all these practical items and didn't have!). Also, scissors (can you have too many?) and ink pads in Tropic and Tidepool (happy that they coordinate, and look forward to trying SSS inks.). 18 pieces "Underwater Adventure" by Paper Rose (cute.) Dies: "so good"; "you made me who I am" , floral foil/die set (won't use these, but perfectly fine to include - no one will love everything.) Background "Detail Tapestry Plate" (love!). Stamp sets: Abstract Holiday, 3x4 Birthday Cupcakes, and 2 background stamps - Hero Arts Bold Prints...kind of modern stairs/arched doors (wouldn't have chosen it myself, but will use it since I got it - the reason to get a box = try new things!) and SSS Color Wheel (looks like a spider web - not sure how/why I would use it...maybe it will stretch my creativity?). And 4 terrific stamp sets: Warmest Wishes, Christmas Blessings, 30 Days of Thankful, and Retro Wishes. The box was packed and it was definitely worth (more than) the $60 I paid for it!
