The Ukrainian song proves the power of music! You feel the sorrow in her voice and the response of the coaches and the audience is incredibly movie even if you don’t understand the language! Brava.

The lyrics are a dialogue between a mother and son going off to war, asking what if he never comes back. That Ukrainian woman's voice is otherworldly. I didn't understand a single word of the song, but I was tearing up. The way she expresses her emotions through singing so that even I could feel them is such a gift. I'm speechless, I don't even know how to describe how that made me feel. Just WOW!!

The reimagining of Dancing in the Dark is perfection. It's not "better" than the original, but it changes the meaning and the emotional context of the song. A great example of how a new arrangement can create a "new" song.

Only a suggestion, but the first song is special and I'd recommend a special note in the description. The Ukrainian traditional song “Plywe Kacza” translates literally to “the duckling swims.” The lyrics are a dialogue between a mother and a son going off to war. As long as there have been wars, there have been sad songs about war and losing children or loved ones to the devastation of war. In most versions of the lyrics, the titular duckling crossing the river represents death and passage to the afterlife.
How mistakenly I see this song being mistaken for "Russian" - these Russians, apart from the words "duck" and "son", will not understand at all what the meaning of the song is about. At the beginning, study the primary sources of people, and only then express an opinion ...
