People talk about the Blog Era and Soundcloud era, but the unsong eras of hip hop as far as community was the Forum and Messageboard Era, 2003-2008 before blogs really kicked off. On Smash, Okayplayer, Nas BBS, UGHH, SOHH, HipHopgame, ALLHiphop, SoundClick etc, and of course The Coli is probly the last remaining active vestiges of that era.
Circa 2000 - 05, I used to visit Okayplayer soley just to read the Boondocks strip that was at the top of the home page. This was probably 8 years before the Boondocks TV SHOW. Living in MS, this was the only way to read the comic strip in those days. Also, can we get a part 2? I saw all those question cards he was holding.
