- How fast can the Kawasaki Vulcan S go? I take it to Karak, wring the throttle and crouch like Marc Marquez. This is what happened.

1983. I was riding from LA to Santa Barbara on the coast freeway 101. I was on my Kawasaki Gpz 750 and my room mate was on his Kz 1000j. We were running 100 mph when we came around a bend and blew past a State Trooper. His lights came on and he was rolling before we even passed him. I downshifted and got ready to pull over. My room mate down shifted and took off! The cop flew past me pursuing my buddy. A mile ahead I could see him taking a curve like a pro rider going at least 140 mph. Cops doing like 100 just hoping he wrecks. I go about 30 miles expecting to see a wreck on the side. I get home and his bike isnt there. I walk inside and hes sitting there. The balls on that guy! laughing with his bike in the living room!

I was racing a woman in a Maserati on the 101 coast freeway. At 135 mph the skin on my face was flapping like bird wings INSIDE my full face helmet. She waved at me. Shifted. And pulled away! The bike had a little left but I was done.

Malaysia, Brazil, Thailand, and Indonesia are the countries that are highly packed with really daring and crazy bikers.. size and cc of the bikes wont be any matter but fun and adrenaline are amongst the factors that they are chasing for..sometimes there we can find small cc bikes as small as 125cc two strokes are modified and can be riden as fast as 160-180km/h.. Yes on the public highways..

Is this top speed by the stock exhaust?
Racing at Karak Highway? You should be crazy.... my wife drifted the car accidentally as she went on a sharp bent which she didn't expect. Road can be super slippery and unpredictable.
Cruiser aren't as fast as sports bike but it is more on comfort and relax ride. Less of speed but more on torque. You can install up 2 to 3 bags like 1 top box and 2 side bags on a cruiser . That is why prefer cruiser bike

this bike can go real fast like 190km/h if you dare but doing that speed on karak is just bad for life, there are many accidents happened on that highway
i can only imagine what that wind on your chest was like... i got mine up to 75mph and immediately decided i need to save up for that deflector that comes standard on the cafe
I have the deflector It makes a huge difference
does the cafe shield make a difference?
I also own Vulcan S and I believe it is the fastest mid weight cruiser

I feel sorry for the guys that cannot find a good stretch of straight empty highway to do high speed test.
Was used to normal naked bike riding position and wanted to try this amazing looking vulcan s, but unsure if the riding position is comfortable for long distance and cornering especially the leg placing forward instead of bending inwards. Any thoughts?
vulcan s not really suitable for long distance, it is kinda tiring as the leg is placing forward
well you can, as long as you change the stock seat to something more beefy and change the footpeg to a floorboard.
i saw 196 kmh max with vulcan s.
What country is it? The bikers are riding and changing the lanes with such a high speed and without indicating and what is even worse, without protective gear!
To me it is a suicide race. I am not impressed I am concerned.
this is malaysia, welcome to the everything can country...we can't end our own lives by needle, but this is one other options you have for ending one's own life...:)
Love this bike, I have hit 175kph straight road, I had an unusual idea at speed, I used the passenger pegs so i can lay forward
on the tank no wind issue then HAHAHA, obviously not the smartest idea, but the bike seems well weighted for me 80K 5.6.
and it was fun :)
Dean Brien Thanks for watching. That's what I did too, feet on the rear pegs. Weight seems biased to the rear since this is a cruiser, so it's 130kph max for on average.

HumGuitar thanks for watching! I'm in Malaysia. I prefer cruisers too. It keeps me from going too fast all the time. Vulcan S has no problem keeping up with crotch rockets, but not for a sustained period of time. No problems at the straights, just have to slow down at the corners. Cheers!

Got mine up to 184km/h before I ran out of road. It was on a track of course. I'd never do anything illegal esp speed on my motorbike :-)
Thanks for watching. In my country, speed limits are rarely followed and traffic enforcement is weak. There's heavily modified superbikes - pipes, obscured number plates and such - doing well beyond 250kmh on highways without reproach.

It's very much highway capable. Top speed of 105 mph and will do 80 mph all day long.
My Yamaha Bolt is better....I just test drove a Vulcan S today and no way I’d own it over a Bolt....plus so much customization with the Bolt....

I keep the bike as upright as possible during turns. Don't like to lean too much on a cruiser with floorboards.

@@bri1360 my 2015 Vulcan s abs gets to 80 mph comfortably, I've had it at 90 once, but haven't had the balls to see where it tops out at.

Karak maximum 80-130
i think RS 200 is faster than this 650cc vulcan but its enough speed for touring and chill ride.
RS200 goes 0-60 in 8 seconds, has 24 horsepower, and a top speed of 90 mph. The vulcan 650s goes 0-60 in 4 seconds, has 65 horsepower, and a top speed of around 120mph.... that 200cc bike isn't even close to being faster than the vulcan 650s...

Are you nuts? Didn't know the different between a cruiser or a sport bikes? If you really want the top speed, you should try with Z650, not this Vulcan S 650. Riding position of a cruiser did not give you any advantage to compare between a sports or naked bikes. LOL
