I do this pattern with a slight variation. At the end of each row I’d make a half double crochet in that last stitch rather than a single crochet and it is much easier to find it when you come back again on the next row. . It does not change the width, just makes the edges thicker which I like anyway.
You are THE BEST teacher ever. Thank you so so much. (I am from Mexico and I really think you accomplish all the things a good teacher may have). Congratulations!
Just completed my first set. I have started a FB page so I can show them off to you there. You are so appreciated. I couldn't have learned to crochet without your fine tutorials. Thank you for a hobby that will last me a lifetime and bring so much joy. Forever your follower, Talaria.
Thank you so much for your video. I found it so easy to follow, & your patience & attention to detail was so helpful. I tend to have trouble at the end of the row, not being sure where to insert my hook, for the last stitch. You made it much easier, as you took the time to show us exactly where to insert the hook. No other video has shown me this. I can't thank you enough. Also, thank you for pointing out the difference between the UK & US terminology. I had to use a notebook and, as you were speaking, I would write it down in US terms. I look forward to making a baby blanket, using this stitch. Thanks so much. :)
Great tutorial! What a beautiful stitch! And so much easier than it looks. I am making dish towels, dish cloths and place mats using this stitch for a housewarming gift. Thank you so much for sharing.
New to Chrochete World and have learnt so much from you thank you so much for taking the time in allowing us to learn from you....much love from Australia.
Thank you SO MUCH for this pattern/tutorial! I’ve finally found a washcloth that fits my crochet style! I use this stitch and my washcloths look great!!! 💞💖💞
I’m hoping this question is found and I get an answer. I’m working this stitch into a LOVELY baby blanket. When I finish the size of the blanket and want to start my border, is there any guidance on where to place my stitches on the edge sides of the blanket??? I think I can see where I would place, but to have another’s input would be great. Thank you for the videos. They are a great help for me who cannot read a written crochet pattern. Here, I watch 2 or 3 times, and off I go!!!
This is one of my favorite stitches for blankets using Bernal Blanket super chunky size 6 yarn - I use a size L 8mm hook and it makes a wonderful play mat for babies ❤
I have got to say this is by far my favorite stitch! It is my go to stitch when I need a quick baby shower blanket. I will say that though that I will NEVER make a baby afghan if the grandma or great grandma knows how to crochet or knit. I just think it's kind of disrespectful unless the momma to be asks me to make one. This is just my opinion. Great tutorial!!! xo
Thanks to you I have been able to learn crochet pretty quickly. I have a lot to learn, but thank you for the easy to follow videos. How much yarn (cotton for a baby blanket) would it take if I wanted a pretty decent sized blanket?
What a pretty stitch and what a helpful explanation! I just have a problem applying it for the middle part of a scarf i‘m crocheting that has a 40 stitch base of double crochets - so an even number, but not a base chain (UK terminology): if I do a slipstitch to turn to start a new row, and don’t count the loop on the hook just as you recommended, and then work the first row as you describe, starting the first suzette row from the second stitch in the existing row, working two stitches into this stitch, then working two stitches into every second stitch, then working only one double crochet into the last stitch in the row, I end up with only 39 stitches total in that first row! This 39 count then carries through the whole suzette stitch pattern (which I then work with the second row Suzette pattern). Is it supposed to work this way or am I missing something? Edited to add: Is it because Suzette stitch is actually a „base chain = uneven number of stitches + 1 slip stitch“ stitch, meaning that yes, you have an even number of free slip stitches if that’s what you start with, but uneven number of whatever stitch you worked with before plus 1 free flying slip stitch that then gets missed and carried over into the growing first Suzette row for everything else, as is the case for the second row pattern?
Thanks, someone else did a video about this which I watch, And, thought I understood! Made a right pig's ear of it! Bloody thing started looking triangular! Oh, oh! After watching that video 3 times with the same results, I thought about you! Obviously you are fluent in "idiot" , as I now know what I'm doing wrong! You'll be my first choice from now on since you speak my language fluently!......funny sounds like English and all!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏾. Stella
I am having the hardest time keeping my edges straight and tidy. It is growing outward. I followed your instruction on the last stitch, but it is still going \___/. Any pointers would be great. I looked at some other tutorials but they did not really fit with this pattern. Thank you for any ideas. Thank you most kindly.
Hello, I am from Canada, I am beginner crocheter, are you doing 2 single crochets & then a double crochet in every other loop? I’m a little confused - love the tutorial, just not 100% clear. Thanks
@@Kd0tC, it's in US terms, a single and double in the same stitch, then skip a stitch, then repeat, ending with a lone single stitch before chaining 1 and turning. I hope that is helpful
@@sherit8594 , No ... Actually I WASN'T kidding, but thanks for reminding me that people like you who are lifted up by putting others down still exist. I was ASKING for a friend who doesn't have internet and is learning how to read a pattern. Unlike YOU, I enjoy lifting people up. Have the day you deserve.
I've been crocheting for 53 years and your first stitch on this pattern is not a double crochet. It's a single crochet. That will be confusing for beginners when they want to follow another pattern. This is one of my favorite stitches.

Can you please reply after about the second row is it the spaces between the doubles and trebles you go into
You work into the top of the double crochet from the row below 🌸🥰

The last stitches, you do single crochet. Chain one , turn, do the one single and double in the same stitches.
very pretty
Very pretty!
Thank you. I learned a new stitch!
Você ensina muito bem.

I keep misplacing this video, so this time I decided to write it down. Hoping to get lap blanket done foe a up coming ladies tea. For a giveaway.
What size needle did you use ? . Mine came out tight and wavy.
Love this stitch, would it be the same if I wanted to do a sc & hdc?
Yes. It's the same stitch. She is speaking in UK terms.
Hi I am looking to baby car seat cover if you have any partrann
THANK YOU

Are you are saying a double crochet & a treble crochet. = 2 singles & a double (US version). ?

Hello, my work does not come out. Can I see where I made a mistake?
Aren't the suzette stitch and seed stitch the same thing?
Hi Cathy, they are similar but they do have their differences :)
Thanks, I watched through both of the videos and could see that once you get to row two they change up a bit.
Do you have this pattern in printable form?
🙄 you're kidding right? It's the same repeat over and over.
