- January 3rd 2021 the year is off to a great start. Almost couldn't find the courage to put on the river without much high water training this Fall/Winter. But after a Trout-Wind lap in the morning, Galen and I decided to test the waters and give it a go. It felt close to our record descent in 2020 but an inch or so lower (The gauge is hard to read at these flows). Without the week of high water training before, it felt just as exciting. There were some bobbles in this lap, but when it counted I got my shit together and had smooth lines! Wouldn't to this everyday...No music, just Love!
So intense yet so epic! You really know this river like the back of your hand. Just amazing.
Epic, someone needs to cut out that wood
Can you tell me where that depth gauge is? I work at the hatchery and would like to know. Thanks!
You watch and it looks amazing ... and then you remember just how much a go-pro flattens things ...
Did u touch that boulders sluice rock
Close ball!!!! Sure felt like I was gonna land on it
Next level Jedi mind tricks-wow-props for amazing style and control!! Blown away
Bruuuuuuuh!!! That was by far the most constant gnar, and you laced thru like a respectful giant, hats off to you and your homie!
That looks extremely gnarly and you ran it like a champ!
Sick run and epic water level!
Loveya
It's rly cool to see you on LWS, knowing the lines and sending it, it makes the video rly impressive and smooth at the same time !!
This looked soooooooo fun/scary/slightly poop inducing. High pucker factor for sure.
I was looking for the words. That sums it up.
@@slipknotalabama ooooo yea.
Should be called Little White Knuckled run. Man there was some scary holes in there! Excellent job, you made it look easy.
What is rowdier the LW at 5.4+ or Galen's moustache?
The thought of a swim at that level is frigging terrifying! Awesome footage and skills EG.
Can you even imagine swimming Spirit Falls into Chaos at this level?
the water looks angry. but you are the master.
Goat
So sick. Question - when it comes to river paddling, is the goal simply to get down the river or do paddlers try to aim for some of those larger waves in the river? I can appreciate the large waves are created by large rocks and might present large dangers due to hydraulic movements. I’m contrasting this to freeride mountain biking like RedBull Rampage where the aim isn’t necessarily to get down the mountain but aim for large features.
Aim is to have fun and stay safe. Depending on skills, river feature, appetite for risk, that can mean hitting or avoiding the meat.
Epic!! The 5.6 run last year is still one I watch frequently. Marr ran Spirit in 2017 @ 5.4, looked pretty smooth.
Great lines on everything! S turn looks down right terrifying at that flow!
So epic!
Sick lines boiii!
That must have been a religious experience
or spiritual... (?)
great ..
Not the easiest river to read at times. Nice river right under the foliage at 8:15.
Man said, I got lit up. Haha. Well done, fellas.
That’s a stout level. Little meaner than the comfy 2.8😀
icouldn'tevenseetheline
Sick🤙
definitely Bank to Bank
I was stressed out just watching that.
Just a little rain, lol.
Amazing run and solid paddling. However, with just the two of you any mishaps and there is no chance for rescue just body retrieval. Please be careful.
That low head damn at the end was the scariest...
Nope.
