Trichoglottis brachiata is different from Trichoglottis philippinensis;they're not synonymous. T.brachiata is purple and T.philippinensis is tan colored. They look the same when not in bloom. Both species are endemic to my country,the Philippines.

It was actually called Trichoglottis philippinensis Lindley var Brachiata at one time.
