Thankyou so much. Ive had a old Brother that did the Scan to email, but when I had to buy a newer unit MFC-L5755Dw , I thought oh no they do not do it any more... But then I found your great Video. Thanks
I cant even believe it. A Firmware update for the updated firmware to allow scan to email in a business printer lol Thanks for the video - saved me a few brain cells!
Thanks Leif, great video and has helped me out :) HAving said that its odd that these options aren't standard when the printer is delivered in this day and age.
Im not getting the option to select SSL or TSL and therefore I'm getting "Communication with the specified SMTP server failed" Are there any solutions for this?
Try to upgrade firmware, MFC-L5750DW firmware version 1.48 have this option. If you have own mail-server, you can also configurate SMTP settings for send mails without Authentication.
If you have Active Directory, you can find email addresses directly from printer. If doesn't have AD, just add all email addresses to printer local address book.
for some reason the type drop down under adress book does not show for me when trying to configure my brother printer and i have no idea how to make it appear
Hi I’ve managed to do everything up until the point when I need to add the email address to the tab address book - I don’t have that tab the only tab I have is general.
Hi. When installing the printer is asking for password. i hav never set pasword for my printer, and it say it is a lable on the back with a standard password. There is no sticker with info about it there. I am connected with network cable. can that be the issue? connect with usb instead? Do you have any experience with this? BTW sorry for bad english

Thank you for this! Had this scanner for years and I can finally scan with it!
I just downloaded the Brother App and you can scan, send and save a copy of your documents. It's super easy.
Wow thank you very much for this Guide. I was almost going crazy getting this to work!

What if you have a few users/emails using the printer, does each user have to set up their email in the server setup?

Perfect guide! thx
Address Book accepts numbers only, not email addresses. MFC-L2710DW
for some reason the type drop down under adress book does not show for me when trying to configure my brother printer and i have no idea how to make it appear
can this be done with a Brother MFC L2707DW machine, I'm seeing in the manual that it only can scan to a folder
Thank you so much!! Finally my printer of scan-to-email is working!
Will this work for Gmail, Ymail or Hotmail?

Need to login to the admin settings of your printer for the address book.

Very late reply in case you are still waiting - the password should be at the back of the printer.
