This is why I love Kara and Nate. They are actually the most humble and true couple on and off screen and they deserve all the success! Nate being such a business savvy and getting the best out of each deal and Kara blessing us with her skills and on screen personality. They both are phenomenal. This is what real #couplegoals and #lifegoals are.
My husband is a travel hacker as well!! We fly Southwest airlines for free with a companion pass and have enough points to fly our whole family to South Africa in first class. It has been amazing!!
Pls keep making these videos. Very informative and aspiring. A friend suggested I watch you on youtube after I mentioned I wanted to start traveling. I've been following other youtubers & honestly, was very hesitant. She told me to start from the beginning & that I will notice the difference from the earlier vlogs to the more recent ones. After the first few, I wasn't onboard. I watched a few more & now I look forward to some down time (very rare & very valuable!) so I can watch you two explore the world. I love how honest yet open-minded you both are. I love how respectful and polite you both are. You both are as real as they make them! Please continue to do what you do because you have a fan in me for life! Thank you!
Please please please do MORE credit card hacking videos. People still don't believe me when I tell them applying for lots of cards can be a great thing. And plus it's so great to learn how you carefully choose to use your points.
PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE!!!! As 22 year old dreaming of travel I would love to learn about more ways to make it affordable to do consistently or long term like you guys are! :) I'm also fairly new to your guys' channel and have loved seeing all the beautiful places you guys share with us. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Keep up the amazing work
People who don't get motion sickness are so lucky... How these two have spent two years travelling is beyond me. I took a five day trip with one in a half hour time difference and was incapacitated for two weeks after... How do you never get sick, how do you sleep in strange places all the time with uncomfortable beds, how do you deal with being constantly on the go and possibly being in situations where you aren't able to meet your needs? How do you not go insane from the hours of research, booking, and planning these trips must take? Travelling like this would be a nightmare for me, not a dream. Glad these two are having fun.
Hi, Nate. I loved this and I’d enjoy more of this type of information incorporated on YT. Hope you guys are having a blast in Italy and that you and Kara organize more trips with ‘friends’ (ie strangers like me who think you guys are the best!). Safe travels! See you next time!
I used my SPG rewards to transfer to AA. 25,000+5000 bonus for transfer plus the AA signup bonus went back and forth to Tokyo! It was the best trip of my life. Plus through spending I still have enough AA points to travel to Orlando in September + my Hilton points (100000 bonus) = free flight and hotel. 2 freetrips for spending the money I was going to spend anyway. I got the idea with your mileage run video so Thank You Nate! Cheers buddy.
Thank you for sharing this valuable information. Please make the series out of this topic. This is the means to be able to travel and people who enjoy travel are very much interested in this topic. The educational value of this information is tremendous, and your explanation is straight forward. Please keep them coming and possibly with some regularity may be once a month. This is the first time I heard anybody mentions the Hotel and Air point deals. Many thanks for that.
TIL Nate founded a printing business. Would love to know more about your lives before your traveling adventure. Also, kinda surprised you don't talk more about Peanut Butter Printing. Seems like they're doing a good thing...feeding children and all.
Yes we all miss them. For everyone asking where they are, they have been involved in Vespa Tours of Italy for the past month, but they should start uploading videos to UA-cam in the near future.
Churner checking in! As of August 1st 2019, the Marriott hotel and air packages will change drastically. SPG will no longer be the best route to earn Marriott points after Aug 1st. Amex Plat card will only earn you Gold status for SPG and Marriott, after Aug 1st you will no longer get lounge access. You will need Platinum status or higher.
So over the past couple weeks I watched alllll the videos from the beginning. And I am ready for more! Already making my own bucket list of travel which changed so much after watching this. Hope to see new videos soon!
I'm so glad you answered the questions about paying off the cards and your credit score! I have been so curious about that! (I'm binge watching from the beginning, trying to catch up!)
I know it's probably not on your radar, but you should totally come to Canada, I've traveled extensively around my country, Banff/ Jasper area is stunning, Tombstone National Park is beautiful in the Yukon, and Newfoundland there are magestic icebergs. There's SO much to see!
MacDrai8 We were a little confused by that as well. I believe his course may explain that a bit better so you don't just get into debt trying to get 7 nights free. Cause at that point you should just pay for the 7 nights.
He was spending that money anyway for supplies for his business which probably was already earnings from orders. It wasn't debt. It won't be helpful to you unless you also have a situation like that where you already spend that much money.
Sharon B Yes, that's understood. I think that is kind of our point. Our viewers wouldn't be able to use this tip/hack but we would potentially because we own businesses. Debt is obtained, but it could be your business cc under a corporation instead of your actual name which won't affect your credit score.
I just realized this morning that I spend $1500 a month in "hard" debt (insurance, streaming sites, utilities, etc), and another $600 or so in meals every month. And I was paying for it with various cards, including my DEBIT CARD. I actually have the AMEX Hilton Honors Ascend card, so I spent the morning putting EVERYTHING over to that card. I will now charge it on the card, and immediately pay it off. That's $2100/month, or $25,200 a year that I'm spending anyway. In 3 years, that's $75, 600... so it IS doable. I realize that not everyone makes that sort of money - I'm blessed, but just realized that I was letting $25,000 a year go to waste! One more thing - my wife and I won't be traveling on planes (she doesn't like to fly), but we WILL be traveling on Amtrak in the US - and Amtrak has a travel Mastercard as well. I just signed up for it today and put an upcoming trip to Orlando on it. I got $100 back on my trip once I spend just $1000 in the first 90 days, AND 20,000 Amtrak Points. It has a $78 per year fee, but you get a companion travel ticket each year. $100 is 25% off my trip... and it's really easy for me to spend just $1K in 3 months... I'm so glad I've been watching Nate and Kara. EDIT: Oh, and Hilton Honors reciprocates with Amtrak - so I can transfer points between the two :)
As long as you keep the explanation video’s around 5ish mins I don’t think you will loose anyone’s attention.(if they’re actually interested) I’ve looked into that platinum AMEX card so many times. You’re so right that the benefits out way the yearly fee. Unfortunately I don’t think I would actually use the benefits enough. :/
Please do this more! I took your advice and got the chase reserved card and want to make sure i take advantage of every opportunity :) - love these type of videos!!!
Well, it is a reward if you already spent $65000 and have American Express Platinum for $550 per year fee. If you have not done that, then rewards are reduced proportionately. Nate is an MBA. MBA's have excellent head for numbers. That is another advantage that many do not have. I am glad Nate has this information available for people who can use it.
Attention to detail pays off... those who hv the time and the travel like these guys it works great for...most of us won’t put that much thought into it.,but there are deals to be had...well done
Great video and may I recommend The Marriott Rewards Premier Plus Visa Card where you get 2 points for every purchase and 6 points for any Marriott purchase and btw Gold/Platinum status works for traditional Marriott hotels as well, not just the JW's ;) For long term stays thought I recommend The Residence Inn.
Continue with these videos. Yall are educating and providing valuable information, so it only seems logical that you would make the admin or nuts and bolts side known. Thank yall for your fantastic videos. Absolutely lookin forward to seeing more of this wonderful planet, later on..
I have been watching your videos for the past few weeks and love them all. I live in Clarksville TN, neighboring your home town. I have noticed the Peanut Butter shirts in several videos, I also notice some older videos where Nate's brother was wearing the PB shirt. Then I watched the 2014 sand boarding video (not too sure how I got there) great video by the way. In this video Nate was wearing the PB shirt but this time I saw the full shirt, Peanut Butter Printing. I googled it and I love love love the story behind it. I work at a local non-profit (Community Action Agency) and we do printing from time to time and I am very excited about looking at our next printing purchase with PB printing. I have an extra level of respect and love.
Just be aware points cards and frequent flier/stayer programs are devalued all the time. That deal (with more 7-night stays) could vanish anytime. Great video with super tips.
The JW in Cairo? The one out in near the airport and the Ring Road? Kool stayed there any times from 2003 - 2010. You need to check out the big mall down the Ring Road. Get a feel for life in the burbs. Might even see a couple of donkeys carts on the expressway. Continue on the highway until Giza, then hang a left. Takes along a canal from the Nile, past Sakara and some small villages with various farms. Eventually you'll get to the pyramids at Dashur, the Red and Bent. We worked just past them for a 6 day week. It was cool commuting past all the major pyramids twice a day.
Your audience is global and this benefits your American viewers only. However, it is quite informative and gets one thinking to research the CC's that are available. It made me think I should review if my Royal Bank travel reward (no fee, CDN credit card) is still giving me the best bang for my buck. If I may suggest in the future please also release a travel vlog at the same time as we have already been waiting for days! lol I enjoyed this informative video but I was sadly let down when it wasn't a fun, music filled, awesomely edited, travel vlog. :)
Oh Yes Nate. More of these hack videos. These are one of it's kind & very well informed & explained. Looking forward to more from this series. P.S. - You're doing a great job at this.
Impressive, this is quite creative! I only thought of using hotel deals on third party booking sites like Staypia, Expedia, etc. Really informative vid.
If you have an SPG credit card whenever you swipe you earn points so it's easy to redeem those points against free nights in a hotel. Marriott has the best hotels.
This was a great and informative video! Nerd side of me wants to see how you keep it all organized in an excel spreadsheet but I know that is not your niche. Keep up the great work! On a side note, I do think it would be interesting to know how you and Kara handle being around each other so long while traveling without hating each other. Tolerance and understanding are essential in a marriage but boy traveling can really test that...
Dang Wangi, Nate... you are brilliant. I've never seen anyone so adept at using the system of points and miles as you. Did you just teach yourself, or was this something learned while getting your MBA?
Loved this and would like to see more! I would also like to know about what phone plan you are on that allows to travel around the world.Lastly, do you have health insurance...just in case? Thanks so much for all of your hard work. Your videos are so inspiring!
Your explanation was understandable, Nate. Thanks. It's good information to have even if you don't do the level of travel you and Kara do. It may encourage some of your fans to take the leap to travel. Please do more of these videos.
Its not a hack. Its just knowing all the ins and outs and getting the fullest of a loyalty program. SPG accounts are converting after today The 1SW point to 3M points is the value conversion. The chase and amex cards have very nice benefits. use it as your regular debit card and pay it off at the end of the day. Gas and groceries add up quickly.
Hi Nate loved your video. I actually work for Marriott Customer care and I am very familiar with everything your just talked about. So good job sharing! The only thing I would point out that is changing in August is the gold elite status is not going to get you into the executive lounge for free anymore. Only platinums will have complementary access. Go to members.marriott.com and click on the benefits & lifetime tab. Happy travels!
Marisol Jackson I saw this and was sad because I was piling up a lot of Marriott points. I am assuming that this has to do with there being too many people getting status through credit cards. I know American Express doesn’t allow you to buy access to centurion lounge is anymore you just have to have either the platinum or centurion card.
It may seem like a down grade but you will notice it is going to be a little easier to become gold through amount of elite nights earned. Previously you needed 75 nights for platinum but in august you will only need 50 nights for platinum status. Earning points is a game if you ask me. You have to determine what works best for you to earn them. Sometimes it’s through the credit cards and sometimes if your a business traveler is it through actually staying. The game is changing in August . I encourage people to go to members.marriott.com for the changes happening in August.
Marisol Jackson and I understand that that works backwards for your stays in does not mean per year. I just always enjoy looking at Marriott hotel because the brand experience is so consistent
great video, especially the comments on how you've never carried a balance and how you ran all your expenses through the card that offered the most points. This is how credit cards are supposed to be used! (As long as you don't ask the credit card company, they hate this idea!)
What hotel card would you recommend my wife and I acquire to travel the world full time ? I already have a chase IHG card and wanted to find out the best choice to add another card ? World Hyatt , Marriott or Hilton . Looking to stay a week at mid grade hotels not for two days . Really enjoy your channel
3% voted no for the video?!?! I love this stuff! It's always confusing to put together the puzzle pieces and look for sweet spots, but it surely beats paying out of pocket :) Great video! Love your entrepreneurial spirit, Nate.
Hey Nate - is the JW in Cairo a category 1-5? The JW here is a category 9 which makes it kind of prohibitive to a lot of people traveling on points. Thanks!
This is why I love Kara and Nate. They are actually the most humble and true couple on and off screen and they deserve all the success! Nate being such a business savvy and getting the best out of each deal and Kara blessing us with her skills and on screen personality. They both are phenomenal. This is called smartness... I like the amount of homework you guys do before stepping foot for travel. Kudos
PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE!!!! Nate, you explained it all really well, like a professional instructor on travel hacking. I am very much looking forward to your next video...

Trust me kara & nate after watching this video all i can say take me with you...................you guyz are simply awesome !!! keep going like this.
Outstanding coverage that allows for clarity, but also goes into just enough detail. Well done!
Happy 7 Years Anniversary of your channel

do you guys know how i feel.. when i have to wait so long for you to post new vlogs.. please keep posting soon.. as life seems boring without u guys..

Every six months, I come back and do a Kara and Nate UA-cam marathon. Respect from China! 🍿 🙌
Love the Nate travel hack videos!!! They’re the best and so great with how much detail you go into.
Wow, very savvy! Thanks for taking the time to explain it, you made it very clear and very interesting. Appreciate it 😊

legit description Nate! safe travels!
I’m a couple years late, but please post more vids like this!!! These are super helpful and informational to those who are looking for ways to save!
Nate, that is genius - especially the planning part when you were running expenses from your business through it.
I know it's probably not on your radar, but you should totally come to Canada, I've traveled extensively around my country, Banff/ Jasper area is stunning, Tombstone National Park is beautiful in the Yukon, and Newfoundland there are magestic icebergs. There's SO much to see!
Please don’t tell me that you guys quit UA-cam! I really love watching your guys adventure around the world 🌎
Its not boring actually.......ITS USEFULLLL AND YOU TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN HOW? SO THAT MAKES YOU EVEN MORE CONNECTED TO US
Nate is so smart! He boggles my mind with each of these videos!
aaaah I got it.
step 1: sign up for credit card. Okay nothing unusual here
step 2: spend 65000$ on the card to accumulate enough points. uuuuhhhhh
MacDrai8 We were a little confused by that as well. I believe his course may explain that a bit better so you don't just get into debt trying to get 7 nights free. Cause at that point you should just pay for the 7 nights.

Bill Richardson That sounds like a decent system you have going. 👍👍

Keep posting such posts man.. that's called some serious planning.. 😎
hey nate i really dont have a single clue about these things. but i love it when u explain these things..good work😊
Please keep putting out videos like this one. I love it!!

Loved that it was short and concise... also loved the way you broke down the math on paper
Very interesting vid....You are so switched on!I feel so dopey but I'll learn from these vids..keep them coming!
WOW! This channel blew up :D. A year ago you guys only had 8k subs. Congratulations.
This was a SUPER helpful video! Some of it went over my head, but I'm thankful that you guys provide resources like this. Thanks for posting!
Years ago, I stayed at the Cairo Marriott...wonderful hotel!
when i was at the Mena house in Cairo in February it just became a Marriott. I REALLY HOPE YOU ARE STAYING THERE!!!!
Kara and nate the 2 frequent flyer point hunters haha the love birds flaunting their flyer points how cute lol
I just stayed in Egypt on points myself!! Keep the videos coming.
[PAUSE LIFE] SPG is the bomb...just sayin! Nice info Nate. Love my rewards. Travel hacks for the win!
Continue with these videos. Yall are educating and providing valuable information, so it only seems logical that you would make the admin or nuts and bolts side known.
Thank yall for your fantastic videos. Absolutely lookin forward to seeing more of this wonderful planet, later on..
Where are you guys at we miss the videos
Nate you explain things really well - do more!
Just be aware points cards and frequent flier/stayer programs are devalued all the time. That deal (with more 7-night stays) could vanish anytime. Great video with super tips.
Hey Kara and nate, it's been a month since any videos have been posted , Please come back miss you guys
Thanks for the info Nate I love how you share the behind the scenes of how you do what you do. So cool!
I just found your channel, I really like how you write it all out, instead of just saying it. Cos im the kinda person who needs visuals.
Always up for more travel tips!! Thanks N!
Thank you so much for explaining. Over all of my years as a teacher abroad I have never been able to figure out how to use my credit card points!
Yes to the intermittent informational vlogs! ❤
Guys we need you back on here ! its been a week .
Brilliant! Love this so much! More of this too please!
Oh Yes Nate. More of these hack videos. These are one of it's kind & very well informed & explained. Looking forward to more from this series.
P.S. - You're doing a great job at this.
Finally, some travel hack, tips and trick. THANK U! More vidoes like this please 😀

I appreciate your step by step instructions. Easy to follow. Would benefit from more of your informative videos. Ciao
Very helpful, Nate! Thanks!
Need more explanation on turning SPG into Mariott. They are merging later this summer right?
This was a great and informative video! Nerd side of me wants to see how you keep it all organized in an excel spreadsheet but I know that is not your niche. Keep up the great work! On a side note, I do think it would be interesting to know how you and Kara handle being around each other so long while traveling without hating each other. Tolerance and understanding are essential in a marriage but boy traveling can really test that...
Very informative! Keep videos like this coming!
Want more of such vedios Nate !!
Love from Bangalore , India to you both :)
Dang Wangi, Nate... you are brilliant. I've never seen anyone so adept at using the system of points and miles as you. Did you just teach yourself, or was this something learned while getting your MBA?
Keep these travel hack videos coming! Loved this!

Nate, Please do the video on all of the ways you maximize the AMEX Platinum card benefits! Love your VLOGS!
Great info as always!! Thanks Kara and Nate!!

Great information for new travelers like myself.....thanks so much!
great video, especially the comments on how you've never carried a balance and how you ran all your expenses through the card that offered the most points. This is how credit cards are supposed to be used! (As long as you don't ask the credit card company, they hate this idea!)
I love when you do these types of videos.

Hey Nate - is the JW in Cairo a category 1-5? The JW here is a category 9 which makes it kind of prohibitive to a lot of people traveling on points. Thanks!
