    This is why I love Kara and Nate. They are actually the most humble and true couple on and off screen and they deserve all the success! Nate being such a business savvy and getting the best out of each deal and Kara blessing us with her skills and on screen personality. They both are phenomenal. This is what real #couplegoals and #lifegoals are.

    Pls keep making these videos. Very informative and aspiring. A friend suggested I watch you on youtube after I mentioned I wanted to start traveling. I've been following other youtubers & honestly, was very hesitant. She told me to start from the beginning & that I will notice the difference from the earlier vlogs to the more recent ones. After the first few, I wasn't onboard. I watched a few more & now I look forward to some down time (very rare & very valuable!) so I can watch you two explore the world. I love how honest yet open-minded you both are. I love how respectful and polite you both are. You both are as real as they make them! Please continue to do what you do because you have a fan in me for life! Thank you!

    People who don't get motion sickness are so lucky... How these two have spent two years travelling is beyond me. I took a five day trip with one in a half hour time difference and was incapacitated for two weeks after... How do you never get sick, how do you sleep in strange places all the time with uncomfortable beds, how do you deal with being constantly on the go and possibly being in situations where you aren't able to meet your needs? How do you not go insane from the hours of research, booking, and planning these trips must take? Travelling like this would be a nightmare for me, not a dream. Glad these two are having fun.

    I used my SPG rewards to transfer to AA. 25,000+5000 bonus for transfer plus the AA signup bonus went back and forth to Tokyo! It was the best trip of my life. Plus through spending I still have enough AA points to travel to Orlando in September + my Hilton points (100000 bonus) = free flight and hotel. 2 freetrips for spending the money I was going to spend anyway. I got the idea with your mileage run video so Thank You Nate! Cheers buddy.

    Thank you for sharing this valuable information. Please make the series out of this topic. This is the means to be able to travel and people who enjoy travel are very much interested in this topic. The educational value of this information is tremendous, and your explanation is straight forward. Please keep them coming and possibly with some regularity may be once a month. This is the first time I heard anybody mentions the Hotel and Air point deals. Many thanks for that.

    Churner checking in! As of August 1st 2019, the Marriott hotel and air packages will change drastically. SPG will no longer be the best route to earn Marriott points after Aug 1st. Amex Plat card will only earn you Gold status for SPG and Marriott, after Aug 1st you will no longer get lounge access. You will need Platinum status or higher.

    aaaah I got it.
    step 1: sign up for credit card. Okay nothing unusual here
    step 2: spend 65000$ on the card to accumulate enough points. uuuuhhhhh

    • @TheCityandBeyond
      @TheCityandBeyond 6 років тому

      MacDrai8 We were a little confused by that as well. I believe his course may explain that a bit better so you don't just get into debt trying to get 7 nights free. Cause at that point you should just pay for the 7 nights.

    • @smokeyangelav
      @smokeyangelav 6 років тому +13

      He was spending that money anyway for supplies for his business which probably was already earnings from orders. It wasn't debt. It won't be helpful to you unless you also have a situation like that where you already spend that much money.

    • @TheCityandBeyond
      @TheCityandBeyond 6 років тому +3

      Sharon B Yes, that's understood. I think that is kind of our point. Our viewers wouldn't be able to use this tip/hack but we would potentially because we own businesses. Debt is obtained, but it could be your business cc under a corporation instead of your actual name which won't affect your credit score.

    • @billrichardson1663

      I just realized this morning that I spend $1500 a month in "hard" debt (insurance, streaming sites, utilities, etc), and another $600 or so in meals every month. And I was paying for it with various cards, including my DEBIT CARD. I actually have the AMEX Hilton Honors Ascend card, so I spent the morning putting EVERYTHING over to that card. I will now charge it on the card, and immediately pay it off. That's $2100/month, or $25,200 a year that I'm spending anyway.
      In 3 years, that's $75, 600... so it IS doable. I realize that not everyone makes that sort of money - I'm blessed, but just realized that I was letting $25,000 a year go to waste!
      One more thing - my wife and I won't be traveling on planes (she doesn't like to fly), but we WILL be traveling on Amtrak in the US - and Amtrak has a travel Mastercard as well. I just signed up for it today and put an upcoming trip to Orlando on it. I got $100 back on my trip once I spend just $1000 in the first 90 days, AND 20,000 Amtrak Points. It has a $78 per year fee, but you get a companion travel ticket each year. $100 is 25% off my trip... and it's really easy for me to spend just $1K in 3 months... I'm so glad I've been watching Nate and Kara.
      EDIT: Oh, and Hilton Honors reciprocates with Amtrak - so I can transfer points between the two :)

    Well, it is a reward if you already spent $65000 and have American Express Platinum for $550 per year fee. If you have not done that, then rewards are reduced proportionately. Nate is an MBA. MBA's have excellent head for numbers. That is another advantage that many do not have. I am glad Nate has this information available for people who can use it.

    I have been watching your videos for the past few weeks and love them all. I live in Clarksville TN, neighboring your home town. I have noticed the Peanut Butter shirts in several videos, I also notice some older videos where Nate's brother was wearing the PB shirt. Then I watched the 2014 sand boarding video (not too sure how I got there) great video by the way. In this video Nate was wearing the PB shirt but this time I saw the full shirt, Peanut Butter Printing. I googled it and I love love love the story behind it. I work at a local non-profit (Community Action Agency) and we do printing from time to time and I am very excited about looking at our next printing purchase with PB printing. I have an extra level of respect and love.

    The JW in Cairo? The one out in near the airport and the Ring Road? Kool stayed there any times from 2003 - 2010. You need to check out the big mall down the Ring Road. Get a feel for life in the burbs. Might even see a couple of donkeys carts on the expressway. Continue on the highway until Giza, then hang a left. Takes along a canal from the Nile, past Sakara and some small villages with various farms. Eventually you'll get to the pyramids at Dashur, the Red and Bent. We worked just past them for a 6 day week. It was cool commuting past all the major pyramids twice a day.

    Your audience is global and this benefits your American viewers only. However, it is quite informative and gets one thinking to research the CC's that are available. It made me think I should review if my Royal Bank travel reward (no fee, CDN credit card) is still giving me the best bang for my buck.
    If I may suggest in the future please also release a travel vlog at the same time as we have already been waiting for days! lol I enjoyed this informative video but I was sadly let down when it wasn't a fun, music filled, awesomely edited, travel vlog. :)

    Hi Nate loved your video. I actually work for Marriott Customer care and I am very familiar with everything your just talked about. So good job sharing! The only thing I would point out that is changing in August is the gold elite status is not going to get you into the executive lounge for free anymore. Only platinums will have complementary access. Go to members.marriott.com and click on the benefits & lifetime tab. Happy travels!

    • @ericleszkowicz898
      @ericleszkowicz898 6 років тому +1

      Marisol Jackson I saw this and was sad because I was piling up a lot of Marriott points. I am assuming that this has to do with there being too many people getting status through credit cards.
      I know American Express doesn’t allow you to buy access to centurion lounge is anymore you just have to have either the platinum or centurion card.

    • @marisoljackson2369
      @marisoljackson2369 6 років тому

      It may seem like a down grade but you will notice it is going to be a little easier to become gold through amount of elite nights earned. Previously you needed 75 nights for platinum but in august you will only need 50 nights for platinum status. Earning points is a game if you ask me. You have to determine what works best for you to earn them. Sometimes it’s through the credit cards and sometimes if your a business traveler is it through actually staying. The game is changing in August . I encourage people to go to members.marriott.com for the changes happening in August.

    • @ericleszkowicz898
      @ericleszkowicz898 6 років тому

      Marisol Jackson and I understand that that works backwards for your stays in does not mean per year.

    3% voted no for the video?!?! I love this stuff! It's always confusing to put together the puzzle pieces and look for sweet spots, but it surely beats paying out of pocket :) Great video! Love your entrepreneurial spirit, Nate.

    Hey Nate - is the JW in Cairo a category 1-5? The JW here is a category 9 which makes it kind of prohibitive to a lot of people traveling on points. Thanks!
