- Deep in the northern Maine woods are some old steam locomotives that were used in the early 1900's to haul pulpwood...The forest has regrown and these are only accessible by snowmobile or ATV....This was kinda dangerous as i was all alone and 120 miles from my camp....But i made it safely!

Capt. John's Bar You talked about ice fishing up there, grab Mrs Capt. John and head to nuggents camps on Chamberlain lake. Rob and Stella will show you a good time. Google them, and check it out.

Fills up with ice snowmobiling!...lol
cool vid captn john. 122 miles long way. but wow
Awesome, I was going to attempt it last year but was told I better keep my heavy ass Touring sled off those trails lol.
AWESOME BUDDY!!!! That was cool!!! Glad you made it!!!!
You would have loved it, and you would like it even more if you hiked in there for camping in the summer
What a great trip! I hope some day I can go and ride a sled into the deep woods of Maine. Especially to see 100 plus year old steam locomotives!
It has been on my bucket list.
Always the best videos , John you must have watched the weather for that run !!! FYI was in Stuben last week had a nice sandwich @ Rays !!!
good one Capt!
Been wanting to do this for a while
120 miles by yourself, you must be crazy ?? LOL Good to see a video from you.
It was a little on the risky side alone, but i am confident enough with my survival skills, along with the gear i brought, so i didn't believe it to be life threatening....I could have never walked out of there, but could have survived until the warden service or family members with snowmobiles found me...I wouldn't recommend it for just anyone.
Nice to hear from ya Cap'n.. that is some Wild Shit!!! Would be super cool to see in summer!! Are the rails still there?
should always have some gear if you're going far . . . save your own life
I always carry survival gear, i wouldn't have been able to walk out of there, but would be fine till the warden service retrieved me....All they would have to do is look for the big clouds of puffy smoke!...lol
Sad they are just left there.
Hey John how ya doin ol cock long time no see hope you have been well. Been a couple years since we chatted I have moved camp and got married loved this vid the old trains are awesome I miss the bar vids and yer singalongs keep well brother regards Shane
