Makina is one of my favourite styles, although it's not very known. It had it's popularity peak in Catalonia and Valencia (Spain) in the 90's and early 2000s, with a lesser presence in the south of France and some english cities like Newcastle. I suggest, if you're discovering this style for the first time, to search here for mixes from Pont Aeri, Xque, Scorpia or Chasis (those were popular clubs in Catalonia) and artists like Ruboy, Gerard Requena, Cesar Benito or DJ Konik.
It's still around in the Netherlands, I remember being In the back seat of my dad's corrado while my mom drove in the golf 1 gti on the freeway while listening to happy hardcore as well as Hardstyle If you're Dutch you should know what new kids is, if you're not Dutch, I suggest watching it if you love happy hardcore
