Right on man. THanks so much for making this video. My 08 x5 3.0si decided it didn't want to start up yesterday.

You can use a 6 point wrench there of the size of bolt that you need

The bolts don’t matter actually you can reuse the starter bolts. It’s for other bolts that actually go into the engine that matter

I appreciate your video..., best one on here so far..., how did you get the rear bolt in?

Ken Boone I slid the bolt in from the back, slid the starter in til the threads meet the starter and hand tightened til it was most of the way in. I did final tightened from the bottom with an extension.

How long did it take you to remove everything to get to the starter? and how long did it take you to put it back together?

Wow!! You have to disconnect the negative battery anyways cause the starter cause the other cable is constant + .. so lots of Sparks

When you were taking off the intake manifold you did not tell them about that big o nut that was holding on the intake manifold.that has to be taking off too doesn't it🌝😁

You are wrong. You don't have to re-register the battery to the vehicle after disconnecting

HOW ABOUT THIS FOR A PRO TIP. you're literally the 5th person i've seen on youtube pull the whole dam plenum off when you can so simply get to this from the bottom of the car without taking anything off, not even the skid plate! If you have a BMW X5 2005-2009 at least with a 3.0 L6 DO NOT DO WHAT YOU SEE IN THIS VIDEO, YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO JACK THE CAR UP BECAUSE IT'S HIGH ENOUGH TO JUST GET UNDER IT ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND PULL THE STARTER OUT THAT WAY. I'VE DONE ATLEAST 40 OF THESE STARTERS WORKING ON BMWS. IT ONLY TAKES 1.8 HOURS IN THE BOOK.

G Tan Do you not have to take off the manifold either?

You absolutely CAN NOT get it out from underneath on a BMW X5 2008!!
