John Bohlinger's having too much fun with this awesome pedal! It sounds amazing and seems to just have so many features and usable sounds. Crazy how good that fuzz sounds too.
I just received this pedal yesterday. It didn’t work with my daisy-chain powered pedal board. Had to use the AC adapter that came with it for it to function properly. I’ve been playing guitar 40 years and while I am far from professional I do trust my ears. I’m sure this pedal is fun and effective in the right situations but it is a little too far “out there” for my tastes. Most of its capabilities I likely will never use. The demo sounded good though (which is what sold me on it initially). Sadly, I will be sending it back.
My thoughts exactly. I've been wanting a pog2 in a small enclosure for a long time...it doesn't have the slow attack, filter, or presets; I'm fine with that though.
A bit Atreides, a bit Boss Multi-Overtone, a bit Blue Box-ish, a bit Machine (sub or le), a bit Bit Commander with swirly swirls. Just different enough, and expression control, something new and fun and tweaker tweaky tweakeness freakeness! You bastards!
As a guy whose pedal board consists of 90% mxr, I really didn't care for any of the sounds this thing creates. Felt like the tracking was off on all of it. That being said, killer playing dude!
Polyphonic! Incredible. When he dialed in the low octave it sounded exactly like bass too, which most of these pedals don't do well. The only thing I wish this pedal had was a second output so you could have one post effects and the other dry.
@ZacharySArnold really? Doesnt the pogg have a little bit of latency? That thing cant be perfect. I mean, the POG2 is an awesome POGger pedal, but its expensive AF, twice as much as this MXR poly blue octave
Looks and sounds VERY FUN!!!!!!!!!!! HEALTHY HAPPY REWARDING NEW YEAR to You John, and to all the Premier Guitar team !!!!!!! Edit: wonder what the dulcimer would sound like through the pedal....😊
Anything polyphonic is going to be digital. To be precise this thing is probably a mixture of analog and digital components. Like I'm sure the fuzz is analog but everything else is digital I'd guess.
I love the concept of this, but nothing about it makes me want to sell my POG. Having fuzz, a phase 90, and trem behind my POG already, there is nothing in this video I can’t already do. If I didn’t have a phase 90, fuzz, and trem, I’d still probably opt for those with a POG for the ease of having all of those other pedals independently without changing the settings and still buy a POG. If I were on a budget and didn’t already have fuzz, phaser, and trem but wanted the sounds I get from 4 pedals for $200, I’d get this with zero hesitation.
I wanna hear what it sounds like in front of a driven amp, I feel like that mono mode in front of some gain would make for some really cool lead textures
I assume this will be a $200 range pedal. Very cool sounds, and Bollinger is an absolute monster, but on a board for gigging, probably not. It’s really tough to mess with that many dials and buttons on the fly if you need more than one sound and a POG still kills it as an octave pedal. Definitely a hobbyists or collector’s pedal.
@@ReignCharger Glad you can count to six, that’s not really something I feel like I need to announce to strangers, but congrats. As far as the pedal goes, if you play live (I do weekly), it’s a pedal with a lot of room for error. It would be fine at home, but messing with it live would be no fun. But again, just my opinion.
@@jburdsinfuse Funny, because in your first comment you essentially DID announce you can't count to six. I do play out live, don't see much room for error in this.
@@sundayscaries11 I’m just a small club player doing 80’s and classic rock stuff…take me with a grain of salt. Other guy is probably playing prog rock/doom/power metal at Budokan.
@@chrishepburn1503 and that's a complete rip off. Pcb boards produced in Asia and MAYBE assembled in the US. How much do you think it costs to put one of these together? Truth is the $30 octave pedal I grabbed off Amazon does and sounds 95% as good as these. After $100 I expect boutique quality, I have two Earthquaker pedals on my board.. the only reason EH and MXR can charge this much is name history

From what it sounds like, the Leslie sound is on the poly mode, while the mono mode gets the Phase 90
Great demo, John. You're the best!

Nice review of the details and individual knob functions.
I get the feeling Blue Box fans would love this but no one else.
As a massive blue box fan, you are correct
Me: Can I get the Apocalypse Now score in a single pedal?
MXR: Poly Blue, with extreme prejudice.
bout time they tamed the blue box. so happy to see this. Thanks for the video
This could be exactly what I've been looking for as a bass octave/fuzz/phaser. Very cool!

I really like that pedal!! Wow great review! Thanks!
I dig this, kinda reminds me of something EXH would make…
Exactly! I just got a Pitchfork, and it looks like it's going on Reverb so I can get this.

You forgot to mention that ehx would charge 3 times as much for a pedal like this one

a Mixer pedal is worth getting in this case. A boss Ls-2 or Xotiv X Blender for example.
I come for the eyebrows, I stay for the demo
Thanks. I got those brows from my dad.
Haha!
John, you rock! You alone are Premier Guitar! Sounds very magical mystery tour.
According to the manual it does take a 9 volt battery
It could bring you to any planets in the solar system!
Would this pedal sound best before or after boost and over drives? Great video 👍🏻👍🏻🎸✌🏻
It's about time
MXR is killing it right now. 199 for 4 polyphonic octaves, and throw in a fuzz and pitch modulator and expression control. Nailing it
I wonder if it would sound okay using it as a distortion pedal
very interesting pedal.
6:32 That can destroy any P.A. System like a good octave pedal should. Sold!
Keen to see if you can whammy it with the expression pedal. Would be keen if it does and can sell my big whammy pedal
Wow everybody's jumpin' on this thing like it's the last 4-bite piece of meat in the jungle.
Great demo- killer tones. I want one. . fix the car first.
When will this be released? Sounds and looks great
Mid January 2022
Sweetwater says early February. CME says Feb 1
@@geetarbube thanks for the info
Excellent demo! Thank you!
I love the idea of this pedal, but might feel that's an uncomfortable amount of latency for me personally.
@@baconbenjidestroyer uhhhh you can literally hear latency in the video. Lag between guitar sound to the effected octave sound. What a goof you are

Is this analog or digital??
Just wondering

Mod with dry alone sounds like vibrato, not a Phase 90
I must have one!!! I’m on a quest like many others but none so like this one!!! Runs off swinging axe with battle cry!!
I got one I posted a few audio tunes with it on my UA-cam channel…
neat O

I think for anyone that has been interested in a Pog but hasn’t got one this would be be a big consideration especially the smaller footprint
It's blue dude, all other pitch pedals are red. That's the real reason to get it.
@@gooseabuse except for the Bass Whammy 😀😁
Pog is awesome, but it's too expensive, it costs twice as much as this pedal
EQD Bit Commander clone?
Am I the only one who thinks it doesn’t sound good? The fuzz is cool, but the octaves sound artificial as helll. Together it’s a big mess.

Little late to the POG party
Looks like a great pedal (if it's around $80)!
Not a chance. MXR isn't going to give the pedal away.
The EHX POG is over 200$ and it doesn't do half the stuff this does. Don't be stupid, you obviously don't know the prices of pedals.
