- At Mexico's beach resort of Acapulco, a group of professional cliff divers eagerly put their lives at risk on a daily basis, performing shows for the public and attracting tons of tourists in the process.
The Acapulco cliff divers have risked their lives daily for decades. Alejandro Rivera, now 28-year-old, is one of the divers at the tourist attraction. He dropped out of school at the age of eleven and never considered learning a trade. In his family, becoming a cliff diver is the only occupation.

The famous Hollywood Stuntman HARRY FROBOESS (1899-1985) jumped his first World record in 1918 jumping from a bridge 75 Meters.
On 22 July 1936 he jumped from the Graf Hindenburg Zeppelin 110 Meters into the Constanze Lake in Germany.
On his 70th birthday he jumped from a helicopter 40 Meters into the Zürich Lake.
So?
The issue at the quebrada is not really height, the thrill is that one actually has to time the dive so that by the time one hits the base water has filled the basen . It drains back out quick.
Used to watch Clif Divers on Wide World of Sports back in the 70's.
Is the implication that the tourists are somehow taking advantage of these men?
It’s quite clear that the men have to do that to keep tourists in the area. it’s not the tourist taking advantage.
No its a Sport just like the aztec ball court if you lose you die they have competitions for this they know if they make a mistake it's over
no one has ever died
@@jamesznc they do not do it to keep tourists in the area. It’s a tradition there. If you read or at least comprehend any of the texts on the screen it clearly says it’s been practiced since the 1930s. At this point it’s just cultural and it has probably ran down many blood lines. It just happens to attract tourism. But Acapulco is one of the most visited cities regardless in Mexico bc if it’s beautiful beaches, resorts, food etc. cliff diving is one of those must see things in the bucket list if you go out there tho bc it’s a tradition there. Any local will recommend you to go check it out if it’s your 1st time there and you’re asking for things to do.
👍👌
No one has died that’s cap
your lack of talent ain't our problem, stay mad, mija

What a stupid commentary, this was created by a group of teenagers challenging each other for daring stunts. It's a tradition in their families and city, yes nowadays need the tourists money, but at the end. This is not a touristic gimmick, but a long held tradition in this city. What a stupid commentary...
The Guardian...the Pravda of the Left...required reading for those old and newer Commies that still live on...

you don't get detached retinas playing basketball
@@tonybologni94 you do in boxing or MMA tho. That’s a sport. And you can get a detached retinas in basketball. An accidental head clash can easily cause that.
