Hi Chuck, FYI 5 years ago, I had problems with my thumbs being painful and joints in the thumb clicking and locking a bit. I went to a clinic here in Chanthaburi. The doctor said he fixes it all the time Thai people working in fields with hands etc) and would take 5 minutes ! He did tiny painless incision and did something with tendon and it was like a miracle. No pain since and I am 77.
9:24 Right about here is a left turn to the bus terminal …one of two…and you would pass by my house. And a little ways more from this point you would pas the Harley dealership next to the big C….ok my …safe travels…thanks for stopping in….
I remember travelling up&down them roads we would get in the car &travel away up north &if we went to far we would pull in to a hotel sty the night &travel back to petchbun very good times 😊😊
Hello Chuck, you are basically right. Phitsanulok is mainly a functional city with railway station, airport, and crossing of south/north and east/west main roads, and many good night markets. It has a statue of the king defeating the Khmer and great temples which are important for Thai people. Outside of the city to the East and beyond Wang Thong you have waterfalls, and artificial lakes with nice house boats for having lunch on. Sad that you missed the waterfalls which are signed out on the road you took as now they have great amounts of water and look impressive. In April May, they are totally dry. Maybe you were too busy enjoying driving the curves uphill so that you missed them.
Phitsanulok is a nice city, but you are right not to many Farang…we go there to do some shopping and go to the big temple…it have some great universities there and for Phetchabun we go to see the temple and my Thai family like to see the morning fog in the valleys …feel the cooler temperatures
I know it seems hard to digest for some others. We just went there as a tourist. I wanted to stay in a certain location and go check out a really cool looking market. The pictures and the hours said that they would be open that day at 4:00. I understand Thai time. But after 6:30 and walking around we just decided to eat in front of the hotel. Earlier that day after walking around the town wanted to get a refreshing beer as a tourist. It wasn't going to happen until a certain time. So if you're a tourist you should only get there after 6:00pm in the evening, I guess things will be different...only shared my experience like we always do mostly all positive.
Chuck, I enjoy watching you drive. I find it very relaxing. I had a scooter try to undertake me on my left side today just as I was turning left. 😳😳😳😳 That probably happens 2-3 times per week here in sleepy Kranuan.
You just got off on the wrong foot Chuck - I m sure Thai girl gift used to live in Phitsanulok - she came and stayed recently and had a great time I ve lived here nearly one year and have seen and met a lot of other westerners living here anyhow better luck to you if you come again try the Amarin lagoon hotel or near to there the Pride hotel - walking st is great - music and cheap booze and a market never mind bud one day here only try not to make a hasty decision it’s actually very good
I’ve always found Phitsanulok a fantastic city with the people being very friendly and I find your title to this video very unjust.I would recommend everyone to go visit Phitsanulok it has so much to offer
Only sharing our experience my friend. I guess I could have made something up to make everybody feel better so they wouldn't get easily offended by words... If you had watched the video you would know it wasn't that big of a deal. It's just a title. It would be the same as telling everybody come to my town everybody's going to love it will have what everybody needs
Hua Hin has some of the best golf courses in Thailand but I don't care for Hua hin for my own reasons as a tourist. i get crap about that too. I like Cha Am and lots don't. Again Just My experience as I actually showed in video more so than just thoughts. Town was just a little unwelcoming that day for us....Same as someone can get butt hurt by one comment I say and never watch me again, even know 99% of the places we show in Thailand are positive.
At the end of the day we all have different views ,experiences in everything we do . If this was Chucks view and that's all it is ,he's allowed that view .
Phetchabun, They have a very nice Lotus and Makro in town. the nearest McDonalds is 86 miles away, Burger King is over 130 miles away. I spent two weeks there on a farm and lived off the land
I tend to take time out to find quirky boutique hotels / guest houses, because I like individually decorated rooms with a bit of character, they are normally a bit more expensive and sometimes a bit off the beaten track, but I just can’t stand the standard, sterile hotel room
Next time you're passing through Phitsanulok I invite (and challange) you to stay 3 nights and we can show the better hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and unique temples and nightlife. Hey you can even stay with us if you want? I'm sure getting shown around Phitsanulok by a local will change your opinion. BTW-we have visited Romatique many times (where you were refused alcohol ). It does a great live jazz night and has a good farang menu. The same alcohol rules apply to 'aliens' and Thai's alike. But if you ventured a little out of the city centre things are more relaxed.
Definitely a town if you have more time to visit. But as a tourist popping in not so convenient. Just like a lot of Thai towns are stuff doesn't happen till probably after 6:00 p.m. just like we had mentioned. Again my point of view was just as a tourist.
Years ago we used to send US military forces to the area and do their skills set tests in the field,,no one liked that town at all,, one or two bars for locals and limited hotel rooms at the time we deployed to the area,,so it was on our flight board as pissuparope,,now this was 30 years ago,,just a little history of the area,,😊
Hey Doc, you were a mechanic for many years, Osteoarthritis is what I'm thinking(not a Doctor so don't quote me😂). You look too healthy for it to be Gout🎉 Hope the Dr's approve you for an MRI though, XRays are merely pictures of your bones after all. Loving the Travel series so far. Love your approach to the flooding in Chiang Rai, yeah it sucks to cut a trip short, but better safe than sorry👍
Good morning. Any word on your mom? Seen the flooding her way. I know your vids are a few days back and was hoping for the best for her. Anyway be safe out there
Hi Chuck and Paige I went to phitsanulok about 10 years ago , had a one night stop over , and we really didn’t enjoy it much , maybe we didn’t spend enough time there , I don’t go seeking out foreigners, don’t drink and can count on one hand how many times I’ve eaten western foods , so I can’t say it was lack of bars / clubs or restaurants catering to foreigners or the lack of foreigners, the place just didn’t interest me in any way at all , we are all different in our likes and dislikes Regards Davy 🏴🇹🇭
Lol I could have said why did the people there treat me like that, I am so special....I also said it was a very big city with many things to offer. Just not much for tourist. It's only my opinion as a tourist. I am still allowed to have one of those right.

Being an alien is fun, it's one of the best parts about traveling to non tourist areas in Thailand.
Food looks amazing guys!! Thanks for sharing this video 😊

Hi Mitch. It is evening here in Iowa. You two have a great day!
Some great street art makes a nice change from the usual graffiti. Definitely no shortage of foods. Bushyboy Oz
Yes it was a very cool stop.
Chuck, in Khon Kaen check out White Buns Cafe. Really good burgers.
Enjoy your day guy's. 😊
Same to you

All good my friend if it's not I'll make it good.
Just recently, my wife and I stayed one day and a night in Phitsanalok on our way to Lampang. I was unimpressed.
There’s a Chinese restaurant in Khao Kao with a great lunch. They take you up the mountain to eat and look out
You missed the grand river hotel and breakfast
Good morning Chuck and Paige 😎✌🏼

OBGYN 🤣😂😂
Look forward to Khoen Khan - I have a million wonderful friends there! I hope you have (had) fun! Wonderful town & people great!
It would be nice if you could pronounce the name of the city right before you bag it.
At least you found something to complain about...
Hope they find nothing wrong with your thumb during your pap smear exam.
Don't worry your girl was real gentle
@@notime2bsad Sorry, that was an attempt at a joke about the OB-GYN appointment mix up.
Ahh My Bad 🙏been some days since video was edited.
De quervains tenosynovitis is probably what is wrong with your thumbs
Why would you say like that to my city.
