was the last Ad for the south-african market? where else would you find the combination of english and Afrikaans in one advertisment. never knew they exported IT that far South
Absolutely not terrible but simply way ahead of it's time and averidge car mechanics couldn't get their head around that hydro-pneumatic suspention. They were used to deal with leaf and coil springs. Later Citroen sold many other models with the same superior suspention system: SM, GS/GSA , CX, BX, XM, Xantia, C5, C6 This suspention was so GOOD that Rolls-Royce and Mercedes made licence deals with Citroen to use this system in their cars (Silver Shadow, etc and the Mercedes W109 and 600 limousines.)
One of my all-time favorite car. Brilliantly engineered by the French. Greetings from Germany.
Yes❤❤❤
2:54 I made this my ringtone years ago when I first saw this.
A car from back to the future.......ahead a miles from the others cars......the future 60 years ago...and still...la DS is the future.....
Driving on 3 wheels looks even better with the rear guard in place...
like it is hovering on that side.
Saw this commercial on Jay Leno's garage
The turning spotlights on the later DS worked so well...
Meilleur voiture du monde ❤️ vive la France
Yes Citroen DS❤❤
Anyone knows the music in the black and white spot?, it's amazing...thanks.
Nico Nico Sakura Sakura-Matsuri No Genzo from the album Japan Meets Jazz. I just found it from another video and I’m glad I did, I love it too
It’s by Hideo Shiraki

South Africa and beyond.... they were sold new here in New Zealand and I still own a NZ new 1972 DS21 fuel injected 5 speed manual.
Citroen DS was also built in SAR for sale there. Similarly was built in UK until 1966.
The last clip was done in South Africa which was filmed at Kyalami raceway.
I LIKE IT
Does anybody know the music of the second advert?
Hideo Shiraki,3 Kyoto girls Sakura Sakura album
@@jira69yes, i was trying to find the music from the second advert, the one with the red early DS and the white roof.
2:48 This give me vibes like, take a DS to a Touge Race during the night, would be cool. 😏
If you play John Barry's Vendetta them from 1 minute in it looks like the intro to an espionage series.
I'd kill for that car. Is there anything more French in the WORLD?
Citroen SM maybe?
How about a Citroen 2CV . Same car brand. Totally different but equally brilliant engineering.
@@kevincarlson4562 Nope, the engine is not French on the SM.
@@honumoorea873 Of course, the "M" is for Maserati.Same engine as the Maserati Merak?
CHAPEAU !
1955??
Is that a DS or a ID?
DS
😁👍
iconic and terrible at the same time - brilliant because of that

This is so weird French are weird I live ppl
We are weird :)')'(:):(:)'))'
I'd rather say, creative. What really would be a dream car ever is one made in Japan factory with german stuffing supervised by french engineers.
@@nurkenrustem6044 And designed by an Italian.
