Yeah, it's used in speedruns of a lot of the Kirby games that have it, but they usually use the dash attack for horizontal movement.
If you ever want to know more of what an ability can do, check the pause menu! You can also do this for lore on bosses if you care… but you definitely don’t.

@@Filon73 just the way all the stuff is laid behind pause screen texts, the vagueness of the lore(people still misinterpret kirby as being a reincarnation of void and a god when that would imply every being in the universe is a god because void is a shapeshifting being that is the ancestor of all life, kinda like mew from pokemon), and the locking of so many important details behind a social media site that no longer exists and were never officially archived
@@emperortoho the lore being in pause texts is there so that people who want it can get it, those who don't want it can avoid it, the lore is vague in a lot of things but still gives all the infos that you need, the Void theory is just a misconception that expanded and is now a wrong popular theory, the extra lore in social medias like Miiverse are for fans that want it, also HAL is now being more clear about the lore in every new game, also WiKirby is a thing, fans that want the lore can have it easily, those who don't care can easily skip it
Ninja as an ability has been around since Super Star on the SNES. Return to Dream Land (OG Wii) changed the ability hat design, so that might be why it looks unfamiliar to you.
Additionally, Spark was changed in Return to Dream Land (OG Wii) to be a combination of Spark and Plasma. The "shake the controller" works for pro controllers too, that's what I used. I was way too used to some of the shaking motions from the OG game that I just kept using that, hahah.
Also small tidbit: If you hold down and jump, Kirby does a little kick that can break blocks. This can be somewhat helpful in the Other Dimension segments.
i think it’s bc the og ninja copy changed kirby’s color palette to purple just like how og ice changed kirby to light blue
@@chimpchange_ Sort of. It was a Stone recolour, like Plasma was for Fire, or Mirror for Beam, but instead of turning him brown, it turned him (and the hat) purple
I honestly am one of the insane people who actively prefers shaking the Pro controller for Spark and the hyper suck. The half second I have to wait for Kirby to get going just doesn't feel right.

9:00 spark get's even better when you shake your controller, the motion controls from the original game still work, in fact most charging things in this game also still have the motion controls like the super suck for kirby. also kirby can do a slide kick if you press the jump button while crouching

Im legitimately taken aback at how much i grew to love sand in this game. Its such a crazy powerful ability and sand hide is so useful. Carried me through the true arena.
Funny how Choctopus missed that first bonus door, despite the fact you can use the Force Blast full charge to melt the ice blocks.😂

As for my favorite Kirby abilities, they are probably Needle, Mirror, and Staff. There’s not much of an explanation for why I like them; I just think they’re neat.

Sword, fighter, beam and fire are among my favourites. Also Pocky and Rocky holds a special place in my heart too! It was one of my first games.
the 3 elemental swords and 2 elemental bombs from kirby squeak squad were always pretty fun to use especially when you figure out that thats what the unlockable for those two abilities were in that game... but shout out to yoyo for being an under-rated classic for me... also what's going on at 9:38 ???

Apparently the 1 mask based on that fish guy from dreamland 3 is the only mask with it's own ability from what i've heard of, it allows you to shoot those powered up bubbles when swimming without needing the water copy ability, also i don't remember if i already said this but this game has af far as i noticed only 1 or 2 normal bonkers' in the whole game, so normal hammer seems to even more rare

I guess I’ll give my top 3 copy abilities.
#3. Ninja: It is just a really cool ability, using the dash attack and the quad shock is just so much fun.
#2. Cleaning: It’s a fun ability to use in Star Allies, sweeping up enemies with your broom and launching them. It also uses the Dreamland 3 Animal Friends in its move set, which is always a plus since I love Dreamland 3.
#1. Mirror: It doesn’t appear a lot, there are only two (mainline) games that use it, but it is a lot of fun to reflect projectiles at enemies and splitting Kirby into two. I can’t entirely explain why it’s my favorite, but I just love it and I wish they used it in more games.

Sand and Spark are probably the best abilities in the game for casuals (not speedrunners). Leaf also has that invincible block, but its attack output is a lot worse, and it just feels weird to attack with. Spark with motion controls is one of the nuttiest abilities, I stg
One thing it took me a while to find out was that if you eat 3 enemies with abilities at once, it starts a roulette so you can try and get a random power. I think thats the randomiser you were talking about. It's 3 in this game instead of 2 like previous ones.

I'm not sure about modern kirby, but I think in earlier entries there were actually some elemental weaknesses/interactions between abilities and bosses. I vividly remember wrecking the snow walrus boss in Super Star Ultra with a fire ability. Did a ton of damage.

Actual tip: with the breakable blocks in the inter-dimensional sections you don’t need to use the giant gray blocks you can just slide kick with down B

Fighter, Hammer and Sword, top 3 favourite copy abilities
I hear your wish for my Top 3 Abilities and I raise you my Top 5:
5. Wing: While abilities like Mech (which is definitely in my Top 10 now), Beetle, and Jet can increase air speed, they are far more vertical based, where Wing’s horizontal flight is unmatched outside Tornado, which is much more unwieldy.
4. Wheel: Another ability fully based off speed. While it needs the level to be built around it, when it is, it’s one of the most fun abilities in the series.
3. Smash: It’s rare, only appearing in 2 games not including the Dream Collection, which adds to its charm. Plus, it’s an incredible reference with a lot of Puzzle applications. Heck in Planet Robobot specifically, it has a Stone transformation that the normal Stone ability can’t get.
2. Spear: With its long range stabs, spamable projectiles, and absurd helicopter move, this is just fun to use. Bandana Dee makes this ability even more fun with the Elements in Star Allies and his unique burst option, Ground Thrust.
1. Sword: It’s iconic, the references to the Legendary Hero of Hyrule are fun, it has some fun free flowing attacks, and it’s been evolving ever since it’s debut in Kirby’s Adventure. And like with Bandee and Spear, Meta Knight has only further increased my love for this ability with his part Wing adding that ability’s high aerial speed and attacks as well as his own Galactic Counter and Shuttle Loop.
"Oh wait I think I needed that." No a fully charged 'down B' will launch a fireball that will break ice.

3:Mirror, cool design in general
For me, smash (the move set is identical to that of his appearance in melee), grapple (also known as throw), and hammer. honorable mention to rock for the references and sleep for the one time you can use it for combat in battle Royale
My top favorite abilities from kirby are rock, which carried me through all of the really tough arena battles, mirror which I find really cool in design, and paint which I used for most of my star allies playthrough.

Cleaning, Magic (Kirby Squeak Squad), and I have always been back and forth on a few abilities; Artist, archer, beetle, doctor, bell, ice, leaf, water and mirror.
All inputs that require mashing the analog stick can also be done by shaking the controller. Official Pro Controllers have all of the features as Joy-Cons.

You asked, you receive: Ninja is far from new. It first appeared in Kirby Super Star back in the 90s and has been in 11 games as of this one.
If you want to experience some neat new abilities, the 3DS games have a lot of really cool and unique ones; my personal favorite being archer. Planet Robobot also brings back UFO, though you need an amiibo to use it
If you hold down to be with fighter Kirby, you can do a fire blast

6:40 Ninja ability has been around since the start dude. It's on my top three abilities. The other two are Fighter and Staff.
If you want a harder boss rush, head back into Level 5-5. Fly above the first door, until you see the barred window. Walk in, and have fun.
Hammer, Ranger, and any ability that can grab and throw enemies (Backdrop, Beetle, Suplex, Throw).
1. Sand. It is broken
2. Sword. Cool for combos and style
3. Shock. Good for casually going through levels and bosses with ease.
Not well known but, Galactica sword from Kirby and The Amazing Mirror. Sword copy ability, and Star Sword from this and Kirby's Return to Dreamland
I like Swords if you couldn't tell.
Keep paying attention to the world names, particularly the first letter of each.
You can slide to get rid of the boxes at 5:20 by down and B
my favorite copy abilities will always be cutter and spear. Spear because I love bandana Dee and because the visual of anything spinning a weapon and turning into a helicopter is breathtaking to me. And cutter because no ability to me has the same epic feel like the melee combo for the cutter.

Yes, Bomberman 64 and Snowboard Kids 1 (and 2) would be great on Switch Online. There are a number of games I hope come to Switch like Mischief Makers, Diddy Kong Racing, Beetle Adventure Racing, Perfect Dark, Castlevania Legacy of Darkness, Jet Force Gemini, Banjo-Tooie, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and Tetrisphere!

fun fact ninja is op due to the down b invincibility being a lot, and the fact that quadroshock deals a LOT of damage(hold b for the sword, while near enemy, then wait for the Shockwave)

Mirror, Bell, and Hi-Jump are my top 3 in order. They all have cool designs and are really fun abilities although not the most practical.

My favorite abilitys are probebly fighter, leaf and parasol. There is something about parasol that i enjoy. I bearly use parasol becaus its not that strong but its still fun.

I'm a bit newer to Kirby, but Stone, Spark, and honestly my third would be just. Yarn Kirby from Kirby's Epic Yarn. Specifically the part where you can turn into a car.
Ninja was absolutely in the original Wii Return to Dreamland.
As for my three favorite Kirby Powers? Hammer, Plasma/Spark (especially in RtD), and Archer. UFO's really cool too, but too few games even have it.

I've really been enjoying this Kirby playthrough.

It really feels like it. I beat the final boss with ninja by just keeping close and spamming quad shock.
My top three favorite abilities to use are ninja, sword, and beam, but as far as favorites based on looks, it goes ninja, sword, fighter. Also, nothing beats Star Allies ninja. Every element gave you different flowers for blossom storm, and zap ninja was a crowd control animal.
Did you know with mech if you dash to the right attack and hold down you get a supercharged beam fast great for fighting bosses

My top 3 abilities have to be from least to greatest: ufo, beetle, and poison.
UFO is a rare but extremely fun ability in my opinion that is always a blast to use. Plus it probably has my favorite design of all the costumes for kirby. This ability alone helped me decide to get the kirby series amiibo for planet robobot.
No hate to sword but beetle just feels like sword mixed with suplex which always leads to strong moves that combo into each other wonderfully.
And poison is an ability that I feel doesn't get talked about enough but despite only being in one game it's such a unique ability that focus on damage over time and I always have a blast using it throughout the campaign and the arenas, shame it didn't have it's own robobot armor ability. So shout out to any poison enjoyers, y'all are real ones.
Fun fact: pressing the shoulder buttons allows you to guard. Use the left stick to dodge.

Some abilities definitely need a static enemy to really deal in the damage. Also can we expect a True Arena at some point? Keep doing what you love king.

Top 3 abilities for me are Fighter, Water, Sand, and just kirby himself cause I love watching that little guy absolutely devour some enemies.
My favourit probably sand, ninja and mirror/psi (last one switches frequently between the 2)
Ooooh, top three Copy Abilities...that's a tough one. Like REALLY hard. I think for me, it's between Beetle, Mecha, and Ninja, in no particular order. Mecha and Sand are both killer and grew on me fast. Hammer and Poison are definitely up there too, though.
only played the forgotten land and return to dreamland deluxe to far but my fav abilities are spear, sand and tornado, especially the fully upgraded one from forgotten land

I think my favourite Kirby abilities are Whip, Poison and Yo-Yo. Unusual ones probably, but I still love em.
Top 3. Ability for True arena SPEEDRUN in this Game. importante this is for SPEEDRUN not for casually playing the arena because You need actual skills to use all 3 ability at their max power. ( Mainly ninja and Hammer)
1.Ninja: the sword dmg is both fast and does stupid amount of dmg.
2.Sand: it has a loot of options and has an over all good dps.
3.Hammer: Even after the Hammer flip nerf it still is good sinse hammer twirl ( down + attack) does also good dmg but it is kinda hard to Land.
My favorite abilitys are...
Mecha, Poison and Fighter.
But Doctor, Mirror and Ninja are pretty based too.
