The final confession was the best with out a doubt best character on the show of all time that's my opinion

@@koma-ho5yq Hollyoaks was the first soap to do a gay domestic violence sl.It was done very well.Soaps would be boring if characters were perfect and good.No I didn't like Brendan hitting Ste or what Ste did to Amy.Hollyoaks did a great job with those stories.
@@jwsm2 I realize that not all characters are perfect and I also realize that we have to have violence if we're going to have a domestic violence storyline. But HO taught us that if you find yourself in a domestic violence situation, and you don't get help, you should stay in that abusive relationship and not tell anyone. Is that the message we should be sending? Furthermore, there could have been the gay domestic violence storyline without all the other crimes that Brendan committed. Please don't try to convince me that all the other crimes he committed were a result of the violence he suffered at the hands of his father when he (Brendan) was young. I'm not buying that. Stay safe.
@@nancycottone2155 Child abuse is a big deal. And I have told you on numerous occasions that I have compassion for Brendan when he was abused by Seamus. But I have no compassion for him as an abuser. I also have told you on numerous occasions that Brendan did not deserve to be abused by his father and his father had no right to abuse him. Similarly, Ste did not deserve to be abused by Brendan and Brendan had no right to abuse Ste. Just because Ste abused Amy does not give Brendan the right to abuse Ste. Yea, I realize that child abuse can screw a person's brain. But not everyone abused as a child turns out as bad as Brendan. For example, Ste and James. You continue to defend an abusive murderer and I'll continue to argue to keep him locked away forever so he can't hurt anyone else. Take care. Stay safe.
@@koma-ho5yq James is just as screwed up as Brendan was as he mentally abused and manipulated people in different ways and actually tried to kill Mercedes but he also wants to change. James is closer to be a psychopath than Brendan in his behavior. But for me James is very damaged by his past. Hollyoaks tries to tell a story why people may act like they do. If you have watched the show with Brendan, you would have noticed the change in Brendan like everyone else did that watched the show and the story between Brendan and Ste in the end. Brendan was both mentally, physically and sexually abused by his father during his whole childhood. It´s very understandable why Brendan behaved the way he did. From not being willing to admit that he was gay to having an open relationship with Ste was a very very big step for Brendan. He had his sister Cheryl and Ste to thank for a lot. Brendan wanted the best for Ste even if he behaved very badly from time to time and people can have many sides to them, both good and bad. Most viewers are able to see Brendan´s good sides though. He wanted Ste to have money to run his Deli with Doug. He wanted to protect Ste and he did against Walker. Brendan knew that his behavior and heavy criminal past wasn´t good for Ste so he finally left the village so Ste could move away with Doug despite having strong feelings for him. He saw a priest and started to change little by little. He started to change a lot after the gas explosion when he ended up in hospital and nearly died. Brendan wasn´t perfect. He hit Ste at the end as he couldn´t stand anyone saying that he was just like his father and he regret what he did and he did change. In the end he turned himself in to the police and wanted Ste to forget him so he could live his life as he wanted the best for Ste once again. Do you remember when Ste took a baseballbat and hit Brendan in the head as a revenge so he was hospitalized and it could have killed him? Many characters are violent. He took the blame for the murder of his father as he felt he owed his sister that as he wanted the best for her aswell. SO YES, HE DID CHANGE. How can you call him a psychopath after that? There have been other characters in this show that have shown much worse personalities than Brendan, like Trevor who was really violent, so I think it´s time to stop obsessing about Brendan and say that he was the worst character ever. I miss stendan and Brendan so much.They had such good writing and chemistry and there build up was so good unlike today where were supposed to believe characters are in love after a week of dating.

Nathalia Onayomake. If that is true, tell me, how many times since Brendan was deservedly put in prison has Ste gone to visit him or even say he wants to see him? Ste's one true love is whoever he is with at the time. Brendan holds no more special nor no less special place in Ste's heart than any of his other lovers.

@@Jackkavo02 On one hand you may be right. Ste never really knew whether Brendan was going to kiss him or punch him. You never really knew whether Brendan would tell Ste it was over between the two of them or grab him and kiss him. Oh, and Nana Flo never foresaw Brendan squeezing the life out of her. Or Danny Houston seemed genuinely surprised when Brendan bludgeoned him to death. Cheryl was taken aback when she saw her own brother use a handsaw and carve up Joel's stepdad. And who could predict that Brendan had a hand in Riley's death or Rae's miscarriage? Eileen was probably very surprised when she caught her husband in bed with her nephew. Probably just as surprised as when she caught Brendan and Ste in Brendan's flat. I guess scum can be unpredictable. But then who knew Glenn would murder Adam or Breda murder Harry, Louis, Glenn, Russ, and so forth. Or Mercedes run down Grace. Or Ryan kill Amy. Looks like we may have a lot of unpredictable characters on the show.

Should James, Grace, Glenn, the gloved-hand killer, Brendan, you, me? Who? Ordinary citizens should not be the ones who take the law into their own hands and commit murder. I agree, some people by their own actions deserve to be killed but it is not ordinary citizens who should make that decision. Leave that decision to duly constituted authorities.

If Ste dies from HIV, I have no idea when the storyline will eventually happen, Brendan will probably make an appearance.
First off he would die of AIDS not HIV and second Brendan getting out of jail and them leaving Hollyoaks together is my preferred ending

This scene was amazing but I just have to put this out there. I’m a similar age and £50 when he was a kid would be like £150 now. And cola bottles were penny sweets, little sods is wandering about with 5000 of the fuckers. 🤣

If I remember correctly, this scene ended with a pretty declaration of love from Steven to Brendan, followed by a languorous kiss. Why deprive fans of this ?
There were two scenes with Brendan and Ste that were special to me. The scene at the empty pub in Dublin and the scene in Ste´s kitchen when Ste left Brendan at the pub with his father and then Brendan comes home and finally broke down in tears in Ste´s arms. Those scenes made me cry.
Ann-Christine Nilsson yes, Ann, it was intense! It was the time when Brendan started to confide in Steven about his painful past and let his feelings be expressed. He showed his vulnerability to Steven, it was incredible to see him, the terrible man of the village, this arrogant, showing his weakness, and Steven who wanted only one thing, to help and love him!
I think we had already exchanged you and me on a scene that had marked me about them, to the latter, I must add the one where Brendan begs Steven's forgiveness in tears at the door of Steven's small business. Steven had taken refuge there to flee Brendan, who had become violent again. Finally, when they fall into each other's arms at Brendan's after Steven and Chéryl have been rescued by Doug and by Chéryl's fiancé, during Walker's vendetta
@@arcadie3374 Yes, it was lovely to see Brendan finally change to the better and turn himself in to the police but heartbreaking to see Ste so devastated. Great acting and great story between them. Take care
Arcadie 3. How soon after this scene was the scene in which Brendan held Ste on the ground and hit him about six times in the face? I don't believe Ste was daydreaming in that scene; it was more like a nightmare to him. And in the loo of Ste's flat as Cheryl was cleaning Ste up from Brendan's beating, Brendan walked in and didn't even admit to being the one who beat Ste. I guess some would call that changing for the better.Why deprive fans of this? Take care. Stay safe.

His supporters admit he did some bad things but they still defend him to the hilt. Killings were not the only bad, heinous, reprehensible things he did. Honestly,,, this is a bold statement, but I hope brendan stays away from the show, because let's face it, hollyoaks destroys great characters these days, kills off popular characters just for ratings and the story line's are not as good.
But I would rather see Ste with a recasted Brendan then James
