      Nah, if anything leave him exactly as he is. I think it has more to do with Fox having to work so hard and the player having to be so consistent and on point that some can’t keep up with his pace. That being said, I think he’s at the bottom of top tier, not top ten.

    Fox is such a BS character--I saw Light use his brain exactly 3 times; the rest was "tHrOW oUt uPSmaSh aND SeE wHAt haPpEns lolz."
    Marss was a pleasure to watch, and outplayed him the whole set as a truly excellent player who out-thought and out-read his opponent. Games shouldn't have been as close as they were

    • @s_4589

      I love how you can just tell how much time people put in this game competitively and how skilled they actually are simply from the type of comments they write. For example, your comment makes you sound ignorant and, if I'm being honest, it makes you sound really stupid.
      Anyone who takes this game seriously and/or who regularly attends tournaments knows just how good these two players are. You don't achieve as much as Light has from simply spamming an upsmash that has 40 frames of endlag. Lol when you think about it your comment so ironic. How can Marss be so good if he keeps getting hit by braindead upsmashes? You probably don't understand 1/10th of the mixups that happened during this set. You probably don't understand that Light forces reactions out of people with his movement and pressure, and then reads or reacts to the options they pick, sometimes with an upsmash.
      But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, I can't expect toxic UA-cam Jims to know anything about this game's depth, especially not Crowder supporters 🤡

    • @jeffersonian4
      @jeffersonian4 5 років тому

      @@s_4589 Been playing smash since before you were born, son. **pats on head**
      I love smash--one of my favorite sets was the smash n splash Grand Finals between Zero and Ally, where Game 5 had a literal tie when Ally's Mario dunk (fair) traded with Zero's Diddy up B and they died on the same frame. One of the very rare instances they had to do a tie-breaker game with 1-stock-each rules.
      40 frames Fox is rarely punished for. Look up the numbers, Fox's up smash is easily in the top 5 up-smashes in the game, and arguably number 1 (e.g. little slower than Charizard's, but hits more reliably).
      But I guess I wouldn't know about such things since I'm so ignorant.
      Sorry you're so butthurt I don't like one of your favorite players/characters. Hard truth you're going to have to learn eventually: just because someone has a different opinion than you doesn't mean they're wrong or ignorant.

    • @s_4589
      @s_4589 5 років тому +8

      @@jeffersonian4
      You really misunderstand. Fox's upsmash is easily in the top 5, I never said the opposite. What I said is that it's extremely laggy and punishable. Look up the numbers? That's my line, sir. Upsmash is -36 on shield! It takes 11 frames to drop your shield and Bowser's forward smash is frame 22.. this means that the move you claim is rarely punished for can actually get punished on shield by a Bowser forward smash! Fox literally dies at 30 from whiffing an upsmash against Bowser. Those are the numbers. Marss missing a few punishes against Light's upsmash whiffs is Marss and Marss only's fault.
      You see, it doesn't matter how long you've been playing, you don't learn how to ride a bicycle by reading about them for 20 years. Same thing with Smash: you don't get a deep understanding of the game just from watching sets and sometimes playing casually with friends. No, you need to actually put yourself in the competitive scene, you need to tryhard and fail and learn.
      Again, you really don't get it. You think I'm butthurt because you don't like Light. I have absolutely no problem with someone not liking Light, he's one of the most controversial players with how much he taunts.
      What I don't like is players failing to realize how good a player is despite their playstyle and personality. What I really dislike is people who know very little about the ga
      me claim ridiculous things that insult and discredit top level players.
      See what you said are not opinions. An opinion would be something along the lines of "Man Light's playstyle is so boring to me". Someone can say that and not be ignorant or wrong. What you said though aren't opinions, they're facts: "Fox is BS" "Light doesn't use his brain" (implying he's carried), " he just throws out upsmash and hopes for the best" "games shouldn't have been as close as they were" (implying marss is a much, much better player). All these are facts that can be argued with and often have a "true" or "false" answer to them. You can absolutely say such things and be wrong (this is fundamentals of debating that anyone should know).
      Let's follow your train of thought for a moment. You claim fox is BS and imply Light is carried but then this would mean that for Light to be able to consistently beat top players of characters such as Peach, Joker, ZSS, Pikachu, Inkling, Palu and others top tiers, then Fox has to be a much better character since "braindead" Light can beat thinking opponents of such characters. Fox would then clearly be the best character of the game, or at least top 5. Why then, does the vast majority of top players believe the character to be top 10-15? Some even believe that he's top 20. Are they just simply wrong and you're the actual genius who sees through Light and who's right about Fox?
      But then why aren't more players doing the same thing Light is doing? ZD and Larry Lurr are players who have been playing Fox much longer than Light has and they don't have half the achievements he has. Don't you see all the logical fallacies your comments create?
      I think we'd both agree that if you imply something regarding the tier list (you can't say you never said anything about tier list as your comments directly imply that fox is broken) that goes against what 95% of top level players believe then you're probably in the wrong (as we all are sometimes).
      Hopefully with all this in mind you get it: you don't get to Winner's quarters of a supermajor by only spamming upsmash. Anyone who takes or who has taken this game seriously knows this already, but I hope that with this reply maybe you can see clearer.

      @jeffersonian4 5 років тому +1

      @@s_4589 I didn't read any of that. Learn to be more concise.
      I'm not comparing Light to the average player--he would kick my ass 10 out of 10 times. I'm comparing him to other top players, and yes, at that level of play, spamming a move starts to make you look like a hack (a good hack, but a hack).
      The players I respect the most are the ones who win the game at the brain level rather than just abusing broken moves. Light's play was characterized by a reliance on his frame 8 upsmash that kills at 80%. Contrast that to Marss whose gameplay was characterized by outhinking his opponent. e.g. Run in, out, in, then catch the jump (4:07), or chasing the man across the entire stage (10:28)! etc
