- Wheeling & Lake Erie train 562 departs Akron Ohio on 7-27-23 to go down to Middlebranch on the Cleveland Sub. The customer there is Essrock which I believe deals in powered cement. The train ran south push-pull. We first caught them at Mogadore rd, then at the south end of Wingfoot Lake and along Middlebranch ave before they reached the industry. 200 cut away and the crew shoved the train in the clear into the spur. Then 110 and 200 were paired up. They pulled the empties, spotted the loads and headed back north. At the end I included a few shots of the roofs of the back buildings of the industry which appear to be left to rot. Just in case the modelers need a prototype with weeds growing on the roof!
( it appears Heidelberg Cement bought out Essrock in 2016 but the railroad will be stubborn about changing the name )

Looked like a.tree tunnel on the last shot. Excellent enjoyed it
Love the paint on the first engine
A sunny, summertime video, on a cold winter day, just what the doctor ordered. As always Scott, a really fine video. Thank you.
These high hood geeps are the coolest locomotives ever made! 👍👍👍👍
The overhead views of all the buildings are very much appreciated. Fine work on the trains. W&LE is a fun road to follow.
Very nice catch !
Another of these short industrial lines that make such a refreshing change from the inevitable GEVOs and endless doublestacks on the main line ❤
What a cool catch Scott, I don't believe, I've ever caught that one before! In the few times I have rail fanned the road! Great catch and video! (Dave).
Thank you for sharing.👍
Nice video, thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing your videos. I liked this one so much that I took a couple of screen shots because of the scenery. I'll be saving them for reference later when I try to do some scenery work on my model railroad👍👍
Thank you! This is a very scenic line.
i see those old engines daliy near i 76 going thur akron ohio and love them, they have 2 that says rio grenda on them, i hope i spelled it right
Nice view of the train going past the lake as a clump along on the 2 milion mile trucks. One.has to appreciate those veteran units. That must be a distribution center that seems fairly new and you had the ownership listed correctly and just to note the LEHX cars stand for Lehigh cement which is one of their operating divisions. It is a strange thought that virtually 80% of the American cement industry is owned by Foreign concerns. Thanks for the footage at the end of the "natural forest" cement silos
Like to see some nice sunshine and trains 🙂
This was a fun day. Hot and tiring but film them when I can.
Thanks for posting this. It's sad to see that you're not getting as much recognition as you used to get back then.
Thank you for watching. Some videos get good circulation. This one did not unfortunately, I think it’s one of my favorites from 2023. I guess I don’t understand the algorithm or loosing views to shorts.
top videos!!
Thanks!
I haven't lived in Ohio for 8 years but is that Wingfoot lake the train passes?
Yes it is.
