Your right. The cheap audio gear is stuff that was purchased to help some of my old "analog transceivers" to improve comprehension. The Parametric Equalizer, built-into the FT-710, works great without the added external gear. The only advantage, that I found, were the Mic Gain, Low Cutoff, and Compression level controls that are on the front panels of the external audio gear. I can make changes to the audio, without going into the Menu. However, the FT-710 Menus are very straight forward. It will not be long until I get bored with the external audio gear, and it will be delegated to closet duty.
All the SunSDR transceivers, that I have listened too, all sound great. If they ever start selling SunSDR transceivers that have less than great transmitter audio, let me know. I need a challenge.
Nice job, but have to wonder.... Is this like buying a 1000 hp engine for a Yugo? SSB audio isn't exactly the name in fidelity :) cheers

you know that you should use a DI BOX with ground lift to stop that .
Good point.
