What I prefer: · In the suburbs, but within a reasonable driving distance of the city. (To go to SoFi stadium and other venues whenever I wanted to.) · But far enough from the city for the *peace & quiet* of the suburbs. (Pacific Palisades [and also West of it] *appears* to fit the bill. It seems to me. After watching this video.) · Convenient to the beach. (Within walking distance is really good: No need to pay for parking!) I think you mentioned a 20-minute walk: 👍 But Not On the beach. Far enough from the beach to be safe from any "once in a lifetime" tsunami, etc. · High enough above the ocean that when it rains; the water drains. (Definitely Not in a valley. But on top of a hill might be OK. Or halfway up a hill might be OK. So that during a severe storm with nonstop heavy rain, the rainwater will roll down the hill. And the roads will be driveable. During and after the storm. · Relatively close to the highway. (But far away enough that I cannot hear any of the traffic from the highway!) · Far enough from LAX or any other airport that I cannot hear the airplanes. (Currently I'm in the flight path of EWR ~ Newark Airport.) 😒 · No pool. (Too much hassle.) · A backyard where I can get a sun tan with privacy from the neighbors' sight. · A basement ~ if possible. (An additional floor.) Good for storage. Or additional rooms. (This is normal for the "New York Metropolitan Area". The suburbs in and surrounding NYC. But I get the impression that basements are rare in SoCal. I wonder why?) · A 2-car garage. To park cars in. (Not for exercise equipment.) 😄 [I get the impression that many people in SoCal don't park their cars in their garages.] · "Rooms with walls" are familiar and comforting. The modern "1 big room includes the kitchen, dining room, living room, exercise room, office, etc" [I'm exaggerating] would take some getting used to. 😳 · I like the area "West of LA". 👍 But I didn't like the videos (on your channel? and/or other people's channels?) of neighborhoods that were North of LA for some reason. And I haven't seen anyone post any videos of any suburbs that are East of LA. (So I assume that would be a poor choice.)

My grandparents had the money back in the late 60's early 70's to buy a home in the Palisades when parts of it was just basically a middle class suburban area but they wouldn't allow Blacks to buy homes in that area back then. So they brought properties in Venice and which we still own today.
👍 I liked this neighborhood! Whenever you learn about more homes in this general area, please do another video around here. (It's OK if you go past the exact Pacific Palisades border a little bit. In any direction.) But this general area seems kinda nice to me. 🙂 Whereas other neighborhoods -- not so much (for my taste).
