For real. I also haaate the tutorials where they're showing how to do something and are just like tapping the note and barely every fully showcase the sound. Ones where if you are skipping through by 5 or 10 seconds, you might get through the whole vid never finding a spot where the sound is playing.
Well, you directly know whether the style of the resulting track suits you. On the other hand, its a huge spoiler which leads to missing "wow" moments during the session. Thats exactly why i skipped the final result chapter immediately after the intro.
this is probably the most advanced tutorial I have ever seen on a genre that is rarely explained in accurately, that notepad is an amazing addition, you sir have a new subscriber and a student, thank you
I've actually downloaded this youtube video and cut the first 5 minutes. Have been listening to it on repeat. There is so much emotion in there. Honestly, this track is insane.
This video made me realize I am not the only producer who has to work at it to make a track work. This is a raw video showing you everything. Great work.
took me 3 days to watch this video and side by side compose a track. got everything down . really very good , very informative and it really helped . got confused in between to how to do sound desgin using ableton stock plugins only . so watched other videos of your yours from Ableton tips showing the how to make loop using stock plugins and many other videos helped too . but its rea;y worth it all . rembered so many thing that i forgot . in the end its all in the details . thank you .
THANK YOU for this in depth tutorial. These are hard to find, and there's so much to learn from this 15:00 For anyone using another DAW, you can also just reverb in Serum's effects as well (or you can use your DAW reverb too) Diva's sub can also be done in Serum with Osc A square wave -3 oct and Osc B Triangle wave -2 oct, copy the same filter settings, attack, sustain, etc, add some portamento 100ms, filter MG Low 24 cutoff 644hz drive 13% resonsance 4% with sub osc level 56% at -2 oct sent to filter (use sine wave) 42:54 you can notice that the thing is jumping around like crazy. At first I thought this was a serum bug, but I notice it in the video as well. Perhaps it's due to how the internal system works. Maybe it's not really an issue after all and the music turns out fine regardless
really really helpful. you seriously understand the condition of producers and know what they actually want besides those empty tutorials. Thank you so much
I know I'm a bit late but this is so helpful and educational. I use fl studio and just follow along and it's amazing what you can achieve if you stick at it! :) Thank you
I think I found you because of your Diva walkthrough video... I didn't even know what "melodic house" is, but after watching the first 40 minutes of this I needed to go try listening to some Lane 8. I love how this genre seems to be all about laying down a sweet groove and riding it. I definitely gotta listen to a bunch more melodic house and then try making some myself! Definitely going to be checking out some more of your stuff, too. Cheers!
yes, great tutorial, however when you compare it to vocal tracks of lane 8 it lacks a lot in the arrangement: dynamism, tension, relax, etc. Are EDM vocal tracks (songs) in another league?
Just found this channel. Even though I'm an FL user your tutorials are awesome and super helpful. Keep up the good work man! Was wondering if you could possibly add time stamps to the video for each part like sound design, bass, drums, arrangement, etc.
58:08 for some reason, even though I'm using env, serum isn't treating the notes like an envelope, instead trying to play it all the way through anyways Edit: Seems to be FL Studio's fault. If you create a gap between each note (I used the max, 1/6th gap), then it plays correctly. Hope this helps someone
im very new at this, to be honest i dunt know much about Abelton live. H ow to use it , i was going through video after video been weeks, Landed here watch ur video and i learned so much, Thankyou for sharing those knowledge, God Bless You.
Awesome Tutorial man!! love how you break down everything!! Where did you find that enamour sample packs man? would help me a whole lot since thats the kind of music i make!!
Jules in first half of video: "yea so i listened to Atlas, and tbh theres really not a whole lot going on... pretty simple really.... *handful of notes made on track*" Jules in Second half of video: "so i listened to Atlas again this morning w fresh ears... and I made a few more notes... *proceeds to show track w/ now a million notes* 😂🤣
Really great stuff I might have an attempt at a Lane 8 track myself, is there a reason with your audio sounds why you put them in audio and not in a drum rack Midi is it just easier to manipulate sounds individually?
a music educator that actually shows what the end result will be in the start, i'm amazed
This is how it should be. Gives some inspiration to power through the whole thing
a lot do that mate

Great tutorial from a fellow Saffa. Btw, where did you get those drums in the 'nice drums' folder? They're nice :) Particularly the kicks.

Great mix! Do you know of any diva alternatives as I've just started mixing on ableton. Tried the serum free trail, which was wicked
