1968 Chevelle DIY Body Work and Paint - Part 6

This time I get the body panels all aligned correctly and start sanding the whole car. I end up finding some more rust on the wheel well and under some old body filler.

GM didn’t build show cars where gaps were all perfect. They were never perfect. I could care less that the gap wasn’t 1/8” all the way down.😂 Back in ‘73 when I sanded down my 68 Beaumont, all my panels were 1/8”. I bought the paint and taped the car and a body shop sprayed it for I think $50.

Thanks! I'm thinking red with the bottom part below the trim as black but I have not fully decided.

Are you going to adjust the glass in the doors as well? I need to do this on my 69 and am looking for motivation

I am but I'm waiting until after paint and the new door seals are on. I'm not looking forward to it at all...
