In this video, I explain the method I created to improve the way I taught geography in my middle school social studies classes! This method is called Geo-Power, and it breaks down different countries and regions into bite-sized pieces using country flashcards, slideshows, review games, and quizzes. I'm a fellow teacher in East Africa madam which teaching methods are appropriate for a geography lesson while in a classroom and how do help learners to develop, explore,analyse and apply the concept thanks

This still just teaches memorization. Activities and assessments should lead to students thinking geographically, but this just tests their ability to recall information, not higher level thinking.
I think there is still merit in being able to memorize countries or states on a map. The overall goal is to have students develop deeper geographic knowledge but when we talk about its relationship to a place or region that rote memory is really important.
Your analysis of this video is good but instead of condemning totally u could give your suggestions cos this approach works for me ...with certain students... remember we have different students with different learning experiences..thank you
