The thing about the mutant's wording is that "we are not asking" is something you'd more likely hear if someone is coercing you. Either the mutant intended to threaten the camera man, OR his point was that uniting was the ONLY way to survive the astros' genocide on everything else. The latter seems more likely from how overjoyed(?) he sounded.
