Watched this completely out of context and honest to god cried. Something about the murdered boy wanting to repent for "Being sad" is just so INSANELY heartbreaking. Not only did he die with his life ahead of him, he died worrying. Absolutely brilliant scene.
Colin Farrell is an amazing actor, the way he acts all cocky before killing the priest because its his first hit. The way his eyes glass over and he starts trembling after reading the boy's note.
You damn hitman! That's the most cruel way of murdering a man! You're like Jules from "Pulp fiction": you first give your unlucky victim a friendly conversation and then you shoot him several times before he expires. Damn you!
Diego Cobo You know... you kind of strike me as a person who's upset because you have personal experience with this. Have you been murdered by any hitmen recently in the same fashion?
Diego Cobo Sánchez Actually, Jules didn't converse with them, he only did that with Ringgo and Honey Bunny. Jules always went off on these religious based rants that seemed crazy (to the victim).
Not only does the angle of where the boy was shot not make sense, but also why the boy was still in a praying position even after Ray fired those first two shots is confusing. He had to have heard those gunshots go off and wonder what was going on in the other room.
I never understood the angle in which this scene was filmed. It doesn't make sense that the little boy was shot through the center of his forehead when Ray was shooting from the side. Even if the boy turned his head when the priest stumbled out, it would be unlikely that he would turn his head back around to face the altar after being shot through the head.
MegaLickitung Hmmm....I just re watched this a few times and to me it still looks like it's a hole in the forehead. I tried to see what you're saying but I don't see it, although it would make a lot more sense. Thank you for replying, though.
simfimpim I believe that hole in the kid's head was actually the exit would (The skin around the hole is pointing out rather than inward). Most likely the bullet hit the right side of his head and bounced off from inside his skull and out the front.
I cry at "Being sad" every single time.

Probably the saddest scene in the movie. Ken's was a close second
Death. I can't believe I only just came back to this comment section and only just noticed the missing word after 2 years. FML
This scene is where the movie goes from being a meandering comedy to something really interesting.
The saddest part of movie :((

Diego Cobo Agreed. It could've all been avoided if he just shot him through the head as he was walking off

that's a sacrifice to cinematography, mate.
the angle can be. you can twist/turn around by getting hit and stuff. however the gunshots should be heard etc.
Maybe the boy was deaf we don't know
Maybe the youngin wasn't familiar with the sound, or he might've been stilled from the shock such noises.
I love this movie it's so great and emotional and has a very surreal ending
Really sad scene.
On the upside, he'll never be moody, sad or bad at maths again...

Then watch it again. its not a hole.
Melmar Marcelo
What's not a hole? The boy got shot through the head.
simfimpim It's not a hole going into his forehead, a big part of his head including his scalp has been blown off from the side.

Love how the priest mouths poor boy before dying
+dallen33 He actually whispers "A little boy..."
Transferred Malice.
he should've used hollow points...
Or Dum Dums
Why didn't the kid turn round when he heard the gunshots in the next room?
Probably didn't recognize the sound, or he mistook it for fireworks. Every kid isn't familiar with gunfire, you know.
Movie forgot how to physics! There is no way his shot would have got that kid in the head from that angel!
