*So amazingly quiet and **Fastly.Cool** in my room! 42db is at a whisper level. I bought 2 and installed myself.Very sturdy bracket and easy to adjust to fit windows of different size. Absolutely fabulous units!!*
Thanks for the video! Glad to see someone use something other than the garden hose method which looked damaging to parts. Thanks for explaining everything too!
The evaporator produces condensation during normal operation the condenser does not. So I’d recommend spraying the condenser coil wit water in a spray bottle to rinse it all off if preferred. That way it will rinse off the solution and won’t bend the fins like a garden hose pressure will.
It also works for cleaning the inside evaporator coil which is what takes the humidity out of the room in a window A/C! Just rinse with a spray bottle with hot water! You don't even need to take the A/C out of the window! My A/C wasn't removing the humidity or dripping water but it was after using the foam cleaner on the evaporator coil and condenser coil!
My husband and I were ready to put out another $700.00 for a 14000 btu when our old one is only 11 years old and we covered it in the winter months, so I seen this video and got the coil cleaner and all I can say is Thank you!! U saved us $700.00 the A/C was filthy, wasn’t blowing out as much cold air till we used the A/C coil cleaner inside and out, now it’s cold in here and works great!! One question it’s a wall unit how can we get the Dead leaves and other stuff out on the outside pan? We lived on the second floor? No hose to reach it? I did pour water in there but I need something stronger?? Thank you again so very much!!
I always roll up the window, put the a/c unit halfway inside so you can spray it with the cleaner, then spray it with the coil cleaner, put it back in and boom Otherwise you can always use one of those ladders that electric and cable and satellite men use..
What really gets me is people are spraying all these different cleaning chemicals onto an into the air duct system which is where the breathing air from your home travels through, circulates and comes back into your home. If you do not rinse this stuff good (which I don't see many cleaning videos doing) you will be breathing in the residue from these cleaning chemicals. Why not just go natural? What disinfects and works better then many of these cleaning chemicals is Apple Cider Vinegar.
I agree. I cant remove my window unit. So jow can in clean it naturally. I have plenty of apple cider vinegar. Mine really need cleaning. I cleaned the filter and sprayed it with disinfectant. That stuff needs to be wiped out. I thought about using long q tips? Crazy huh? Please let me know. Thanks.
@@adventureoflinkmk2 that's cool. And I didn't assume you were Jewish. I'm not Jewish either but still celebrate the feast days as there are a shadow of Jesus' plan of redemption.
Thank you for this video!! I never knew they made air conditioner cleaners!! I've had my ac for about 10 years and it hasn't been cooling as normal for a couple of years. I'm going to go buy this foam tomorrow!! (I did see it online and then went looking for a "how to" video!!)
I bought the AC cleaner at home depot a couple days ago and basically I should : 1) Turn my AC window unit ON for like 15 min 2) Shut it off 3) Spray the back of the AC, wait like 5 minutes 3) Turn it on and just let it do its thing; it will clean itself? Is that correct?
Will this work on any kind of window A/C? The AC stays in all year through. I've had mine for just about 2 years. I clean the filter at least once every other week on the inside. But never knew how to go about and clean the outside. Would like to try this.
Yeah, because things like a/c cleaners (at the time I shot the video and put it on UA-cam) were considered add-on items... meaning you need a purchase of like $25 or more to get the item
Hey thx I have an ac from 1939 it's a window ac General Electric and it's working very well still but the out side coil is falling a part it very bad by in the I'n side it blowing 35 degrees on a hot day thx for u vid and I hope I can get a year or 2 out of my old one
Tammy Cooper That is a really old AC... Newer ones are much more efficient... I'd keep an eye online on Craigslist, Facebook sales sites... People practically give away these window units... Actually some guy gave us 3 that were a year old... Didn't want any money for them! It was crazy. But as far as coils falling apart.. With that age I certainly see it happening naturally but also have to warn you if using things not meant for air conditioners. People have used crazy stuff like throttle body cleaner for cars and such... The cleaners like that eat up the aluminum coils.. So stick with water or stuff made for the AC cleaning.
If you have a garden hose you can spray it off that way. Just be careful to not use high pressures or focus on one area, both will bend the condenser fins. I've also been told that the bubbles are as a result of the humidity going through to make them, so if you don't get bubbles it should be fine
I just got a can of this. What's up with all the foam on the 'Outside" of the fins/coil?? I'm hoping i can spray it well up inside, yeah? What would be wrong with pushing the foam up in there with the brush or is that unnecessary? thanks
That said, wherever it drains out may be clogged too. I see it all the time on cars where floorboards get wet, part of the problem is the drains get clogged
yeah I started seeking after I saw that lmao, I usually take mine apart and spray a coil cleaner on it, brush it with a soft brush, and rinse it down with a hose every couple of years
What about the air coming out the AC being smelly?! The AC is only a year old. I cleaned the filter before use. It's only been in the window for 2 weeks. Just clean it all?! It's still got cold air and cools the hpise down within 30 minutes...it just smells!
Yeah, you would have to clean the evaporator too. Unfortunately it's only the condenser that can self clean with the spray, you'd have to spray down (gently mind you) the evaporator with a hose along with retreating it with coil cleaner
I just saw some tablets on Menards.com that are supposed to take the smell away. Just put air conditioners in the search bar, then filter price: low to high. You will find the tablets and this foam.

It doesn't damage it and cleans everything. What you see being cleaned is only about 50% of the mold/mildew/grime.

The evap core makes the condensation.👍
i blow them out with compressed air @80 psi , cleans em up pretty good
Thank you so much. A/C is blowing colder air already
You're welcome
For the fins they sell a fin comb to straighten and clean em the condesor I also use compressed air in a can
Good deal... I've got such a comb myself
Thanks for the info. I just noticed how dirty my window a/c was from the inside, now I’ll know what to do in the outside. Great video
Thank you.. :)
Use a Mold and mildew cleaner for the evap coil .
You can use water for the front coils it works better than the brush or manually cleaning
Yeah I prefer to rinse the front and back well with low pressure water

You should take the cover to remove the mold from inside. Unless you like the smell of mold
What cover and how?

You should be able to find it where you they keep the air conditioners... That's where I remember finding mine

I live on second floor and can’t take my a/c out to clean w/o hiring a company. How can I clean this being upstairs?
What type of ac is it(Brand) I'll try to help you out.
I do too. Luckily my windows close together, I was able to reach & spray
What Prince said. Only thing you can do is remove the a/c from the window and spray from there
I just got a can of this. What's up with all the foam on the 'Outside" of the fins/coil?? I'm hoping i can spray it well up inside, yeah? What would be wrong with pushing the foam up in there with the brush or is that unnecessary? thanks

Thannnnnk you . Great Teacher
Does that can clean cigg smoke outta the ac?
Maybe... then again, when I filmed this video I wasn't around any smokers (mostly cuz dad still didn't smoke at the time)
My wall unit ac isnt leaking water anymore. Could my condensers be clogged? Would this fix it?
Possibly. Usually not draining is due to it not being angled correctly
That said, wherever it drains out may be clogged too. I see it all the time on cars where floorboards get wet, part of the problem is the drains get clogged
So do you let it run while putting the cleaner on it
No. Shut it off
Thank you

important tip, slow down in inclement weather! job well done sir!
Yes, indeed! And thank you
i bought this here for $129 in 2015 and only use it for 2 or 3 weeks a year.

where can I buy the cleaner

At Mcdonalds
McDonald's doesn't have the cleaner, that's a fast food restaurant
