Thanks for doing these classic artists. Barry was known for his deep soulful voice & romantic image. He had a lot of songs especially in the 70's such as "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love Baby", "Practice What You Preach", "Never, Never Gonna Give You Up", "What Am I Gonna Do With You", "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Bit More, Baby", "Let The Music Play" etc.

    Hi Fil,
    What better for a
Friday afternoon analysis then the smooth silky sounds of Barry white. He has such a deep robust voice and a unique styling and delivery. I must say that I didn’t realize the scope of the notes he was singing. But one thing is for certain he made it all work, the talking, his vocals, vibrato and just the soulfulness of his voice. Great job helping us “see” his pitch and range, really interesting. Thanks for another awesome analysis video. You Are The Best! Debbie ☮️

Thanks for the masters class on the mystique of Barry's voice. As a performer,producer,lyricist...he is obviously talented. As a consumer..all we notice is the final product. Yet, you appear to understand the "magic" of tone, octave, technique. Your channel is surprisingly entertaining and educational..which is refreshing. Keep up the excellent work...we laypeople appreciate the view.

You immediately knew it was him.
    Thanks for the analasys.
I never heard it like this, always thought his voice was very low.
    🤘💜

I do appreciate it even more now.

This video is a great compliment to the one that you did on Michael Jackson, where you used the software to show that his singing voice isn't as high as people assume it is. Starting out in LA with Greif Garris Productions, I was Barry White's road manager and lighting designer, in his first USA tour in '73 (as I recall). Our stops were Cobo Hall in Detroit, a week at the Apollo, and a weekend at the JFK Center in Washington, DC. The tour included Barry, three ladies of Love Unlimited, an 8-piece rhythm section, and a 30-piece orchestra that we picked up at each venue. Aaahhh, the stories! The tour was cut short due to Barry having serious issues with his throat. Previously he had some kind of throat surgery so this was the 2nd time he stressed his vocal cords and couldn't continue the tour. Whereas he sounds smooth and effortless reaching those notes definitely took its toll.

Sidenote: The 70s when groups started to integrate rock and orchestra together; First one I remember was
Procol Harum with their song Conquistador..
    Some good stuff back then..
Another.. Fanfare for the Common Man by ELP. Saw them do that in concert mid-70s.
