Yeah, kind of a weird time of year here where all the moving waters are in run off, the mid elevation lakes are getting too warm for trout, and the high mountain stuff is still just opening up.
Not having much warm water species experience, is there an optimum water temperature for chasing smallies? What general category of flies are most productive?
On Deer Creek one year with my boys, those "Big" size Smalls were what we were catching for Large.
Fun times, it's cool to mix things up and target more warm water species.
