True story: In 1990, nearly 400 girls younger than 15 had children in New York City. Another 675 had abortions. But one pregnancy, in particular, garnered national headlines. On March 27, 1991, a 12 year old gave birth to a baby boy in the Noble Drew Ali Plaza, a 385-family, privately owned, federally subsidized project in Brownsvill

Very glad you reacted to this song, Tupac such a amazon person, i got so much to say that i dont know where to start, we love you Pac, thank you for giving the world timeless music and everything else you done. Yep it is one of those songs. A definitive Tupac song. While he was popular before this song, I do feel like this song propelled him to superstar status. It's not supposed to be easy to hear, but it's the truth of what goes on sometimes in the ghetto and in less privliged areas around the world. It's not only the story of "Brenda" but of a lot more people than we'd think who can't make ends meet, who end up having kids. Life isn't fair a lot of the time, and it's sad, and that's what this song portrays so well.

The song is very true to life. It tells a tale of tragedy, ends abruptly, no ceremony, no looking deeper, and life goes on. It is sad to say it like that, but that is what makes the story that much more deeper. Why is there no outrage? Why no looking further into how this could happen? Why is nothing done to make sure this story doesn't happen to someone else? .......we just move on......
