I bought this model. This is my new home. The half bath, my husband turned into a butlers pantry! We took our one couch and put in storage unit. Also, my husband put shelves in the living room and kitchen windows. Also he put a shelf above the bed. Also, he put shelves near each barn door. I love my new home and the changes we have made!
Durango Gold G386FLF is, in my opinion, a superior front living room rv. Properly ducted A/C, so when sitting in front living room with air on, you can still hear TV and have a conversation. Storage outside is better as well in the Durango. For whatever reason, people don't know enough about this KZ brand model. Just my 2 cents

Love your enthusiasm, and gotta say, you gave some genuine love/appreciation to your wife, which was cool to hear :) Wish nothing but the best for you and yours, and seeing as I'm gonna be in the market for a large unit--was thinking maybe a Cedar Creek destination trailer, but this GD Solitude is sweeeeeeet, and could easily suffice also--I'm likely gonna give you a holler when I'm ready.

Bought one in November 2021 and really love it. But, I have salesperson and RV dealership envy. You guys seem fantastic. Our dealer and repair facility are so poor that I just don't ever want to go back to them. Nice job and appreciate your excitement and initiative!

My biggest knock on grand designs is limited storage . This answers that issue

It is interesting that only some RVs come with bedside shelving or a nook suitable for a CPAP machine bedside. This one does not. There are a significant number of people who use CPAP, which is potentially a life or death issue (people have died from hypoxia from untreated sleep apnea). It perplexes me that many of the RV manufacturers have not thought of that. My Forest River Forester has a large nook and electrical outlet bedside that allows for this hookup, which is nice.

I think it would be great if you could do a review of a unit that is powered with the ac's running so we could see if they actually work at cooling down the unit in midday Texas heat.
Only if it has 3 acs. We just had to pull our 2021 to Arizona for work and heat of the day looking at 82 degrees with 2 acs. And look for leaks under the master bath sink. Only place they run pex to soft hose. Horrible design. Not made like they used to be ours just made 1 year old and have trim on slide loose/falling. If you're going to spend this kind of money go with a Riverstone. We should have.
It does. All these high end fifth wheels are rated for 0-100 degrees F. They will at least get in the low 70's with the A/C's on.
I purchased a 2020 Grand Design Solitude 380FL, with only two A/C units. When the outside tempeture hit over 100 degrees, the two A/C units could not keep up. I then purchased two A/C styrophome (air shower), inserts, and installed them into each unit. After that installation, the two A/C units were able to keep the interior temperature at 70 degrees, when the outside temperatures surged over 100 degrees F.
On front living designs, are the half bath or full bath accessible with the slides in? Great video!
We considered this model for our full time. 2 major drawbacks in our opinion were: No full body paint offered and the cargo carrying capacity (1816 lbs) was very low for all the basement storage space it has. If you were to fill that basement I can't imagine staying within that CCC. We liked it otherwise.
Actually the Solitude can be ordered in full body paint. Our '23 380FL-R is due to us late November with full body paint in "Pearl." They offer two other color options as well.
Hey Miles, Ask them to turn the AC on for you before you start filming. It’s horrible how you have to film in those Hotboxes. It doesn’t take long for those Fifth wheels to get really hot. Maybe about an hour of cooling these down before you film these RVs, it would make a big difference for you. It can’t be good for your health either.
Appreciate that, it just takes too much time to move each RV to a spot that it can be plugged in. It's quicker for me to just take on the heat, especially when my job isn't to make videos, but to spend time with customers helping them purchase an RV. But summer is almost over!
That makes sense. Hopefully the weather cools down sooner than later.

At 38:00, I toured one of these and couldn’t open the right side of the shower doors, they open L-R leaving you little room to enter the shower. Can that be changed? The right side in the one I toured appeared to be permanently anchored.
Which is better a front kitchen or livingroom especially in towing ?
I tow the Solitude 380FL with a F-250. I installed a GEN-Y goose neck hitch, and a B&W 4" offset ball to make sure that I had a good turning radius. I also installed Tembrins, and Super springs in my rear suspension. I had amazing results, not problem pulling, or stopping the unit, and I still. had about an 80 degree turning radius. My unit had the front living room and my pin weight was approximately 3,300 lbs after installing the Gen-Y hitch. I had absolutely no problems pulling the Solitude 380FL with my F-250, 6.7L diesel short bed pick-up.

I am able to pull my Solitude 380FL with an F-250. I made some modifications first. I installed Timbrins and Super springs in my rear suspension, and then replaced the stock hitch, with a GEN-Y Goose neck hitch, and a B&W 4" offset ball. I had amazing results pulling my RV from Northern Washington, to Boise, Idaho. I had no problems, what so ever, towing the giant beast.

Grand design solitude or Montana which of the two is the better product
I could never say one is better than the other. They are both too similar. It’s just a matter of which layout and design you feel most comfortable in.

Is this a walk through to sell this Solitude, or to sell a Monatana or Alpine?
It’s to help answer the questions I got asked by every single person I ever sold an Alpine, Montana, or Solitude… “so what’s the difference between an Alpine, Montana, and Solitude?” If I did a poor job in attempting to answer that question through a video, I apologize.
@@mylesrv Please don't apologize, I was just curious. We have been full time for almost 3.5 years in an 2020 GD 397th, and my brother and his wife are about to go full time as well. We are just looking at different rigs. You are extremely thorough, and we appreciate that! And, wow, your quick response is very impressive! We were stationed in Fort Worth for 8 years, and if we were still there, we would come to you!

Man. Grand Design just can’t get away from that God awful brown. Yuck we are over BROWN!!!! Everyone else gets it what’s wrong with GD I hope they see this NO MORE DARK BROWN!!!

We just bought this model today. It’s not brown. Video doesn’t do it justice. It’s more gray now with the darker highlights but it is not brown.

I am tried of you dissing the solitude while giving a tour of git comparing it to the keystone and alpine constantly. I initially thought i would want to give you the business when we were ready to purchase. But here is my suggestion instead. Give a tour of a model without constantly comparing it to the other models it really it exhausting. Like you are giving the tour of the solitude but selling the keystone and alpine. Many people are brand loyal. Just some constructive criticism
Appreciate that feedback. I suppose the reason I do that is because nearly every customer I have that is choosing between fifth wheel brands asks the question’ “what’s different between the brands” so I try to answer that in these videos. Especially since most things are little differences here and there. So it’s my goal to answer the question of differences in these videos instead of having to answer that question over and over and over again with each individual I speak to.
But I love the Solitude models! So if it seems I’m bashing them in the video, I need to correct that.

Yes… my ultimate goal is that someone who wants to buy this RV will watch. And someone that is truly considering purchasing this RV wants to see the space in all the cabinets and drawers. Just like they would do if they came to look at it in person.
As someone who lives FT in an RV and about to buy a new one, I appreciate it because manufacturers tend to hide fuse, electrical, and plumbing behind doors they disguise as storage.
This his video and his channel if u don’t like it why are you continuing to watch his channel WTF…..if something as simple as opening up all the drawers bothers you then move on to a video that satisfy you….. it’s that simple. That’s what a salesmen suppose to do to show the amount of storage it offers..!! The nerve of people trying too rule/run someone’s channel that they don’t put in the effort to make or drive hours too provide info for serious inquiries. This is his job…!!!

I absolutely kove the kitchen area but I think they went overboard with the bathroom size and wasted a LOT of space. This could have been a 2 bedroom. Also all of the wasted space over the half bath could have had a single cot sized loft for either storage or another place to sleep.
I also hate when they put king sized beds in campers. It makes it feel claustrophobic in the bedroom. Also the windows arounf the bed I would also hate. People should have more privacy in their bed area.
This was actually painful to watch! Believe me, this not for you / word!
