ua-cam.com/video/Z_9246Zi_Go/v-deo.html Something for you to check out. A game between 2 teams that will open the 2025 Season in Dublin, Ireland. Some of the key guys for Iowa State could still be playing then. Last regular Season game of 2023. (Bit of Background Story) Iowa State Quarterback Brock Purdy left to become NFL rookie star Brock Purdy end of 2021-22 Season. 2022 QB got kicked off of team due to violations of rules related to newly legalized sports gambling, so new guy had to come in and become instant star. 2 running backs left the team prior to the start of this game with plans of transfer to other schools, opening door for flashy first year player to make his first start. ) Game played in heavy snow.

It was not a single hit, but rather the fact that he was a freak of nature (still is, when healthy) at 6'6" 270lbs and 4.5 in the forty, with really long arms and all of the athleticism needed. The single tackle was just another, of many, examples of his excellence--no one needed to see that to make him the no. 1 pick.

Clowney's hit was arguably the high point of his career. That or, ya know, he needs to get on better coached teams. It's strange, SC around that time had some great defensive players, Norwood, Clowney are the two that leap out at me....but not that many make it pro. I wonder if that's a system problem, or the fact that they get overlooked but are good enough to make it but don't get a chance due to being in the SEC? I'm curious how many Gamecocks got drafted pre 92 and since 92. Somewhere, there's an alternate timeline where they either stayed an independent or stayed in the ACC

24:30 what happened was Auburn’s coach put the punter at position X, which is the wide receiver. The QB and the punter were both on the field. That prompted the alabama players to get confused, trying to cover the play and the punt. So it was a “trick” play. That’s what you see Bo Nix and Malzhan so happy. The trick worked.

The Burrow jersey thing was during his senior night (senior day/night is a tradition in high school and college athletics where the seniors playing their final regular season home game have a pregame ceremony where they all get announced individually and get to walk out with or to members of their family and get presented a gift like a commemorative ball or plaque or framed photo or jersey and everyone gives them a big standing ovation). During his, Burrow wore a jersey with his name spelled "Burreaux" (although he changed back to normal for the game). The gimmick here is that Cajun/Creole French is a commonly spoken and written dialect in Louisiana and a common suffix of said dialect is the letters "eaux" pronounced "oh." Because of this, a common sign to see at LSU games involves a purposeful mis-spelling the word "go" in "Go Tigers" as "Geaux Tigers" to indicate both their team affiliation and Cajun roots. So he took his senior night a way to pay tribute to the fans and his coach, Ed Orgeron (who specifically does have a Cajun background), and show how much he embraced them and their culture (or at least their silly takes on it). Burrow quickly became a fan-favorite at LSU even though he, a native of Ohio, spent his first 3 years at Ohio State because of his quality play and because, by all accounts, he's just a nice, cool dude.
For me, personally, UConn winning out in 2010 and winning the Big East championship on a walk-off 51 yard field goal at South Florida to clinch our first (and to date only) major bowl bid. The actual best moment probably Kick 6. Gets me every time. The Tua walk-off is also quality. Miami laterals against Duke might be the most insane (the play did stand but the refs actually botched the post-play management completely doing multiple reviews and calling and then calling back a possible block to the back with no clear communication; to this day I'm not sure how that play SHOULD have ended but everyone agrees it was messed up. Here's a good write-up...ftw.usatoday.com/2015/10/miami-kickoff-return-duke-video-lateral).
OMG, I almost forgot about the Prayer at Jordan-Hare!! Auburn's 4th and 18 miracle tip drill against Georgia was the GAME BEFORE the Kick 6 (which is part of what makes the Kick 6 so special and still higher up on the list for me, but jeeze!). 2013 was a pretty insane year for Auburn which, despite all these miracles, ended in them losing the National Championship Game to Florida State on that 4th Quarter 100-yard kick return from earlier in the video.
8:36 - Y'all caught the play before being by Johnny Manziel but ya missed that this play was Lamar Jackson.
What's crazier about that 2019 LSU team with Burrow and Jefferson is that their other top receiver was Burrow's current Bengals teammate, Ja'Marr Chase. They drafted Burrow and Chase in back-to-back seasons both out of LSU and it's obviously working for them. And yes, that is Thaddeus Moss who is in fact Randy Moss' son. Despite his college success, he's been bounced around NFL rosters and I don't believe has played in a game yet. He played in the USFL this past spring.
27:28 - Nick is right that any part of the foot on the line is out of bounds but, additionally, you only need a tiny part of the foot to be down (if none of it is on the line). Just a toe or just a heel is fine. This is all for college of course where you only need 1 foot down to complete a catch. In the NFL, you need parts of both feet down and in bounds with possession of the ball to complete a catch.
27:56 - There was nothing controversial about it (that I'm aware of). It's just that, all Michigan had to do to win was get the punt off and make sure it wasn't returned for a touchdown. They went from winning to losing in one bad snap and one failed attempt to hoof the ball away by any means necessary. Another crazy one.
31:58 - Ohio University (or just Ohio) is a green and white colored Mid-American Conference (MAC) school that has been ranked in the top 25 of the AP rankings for 9 specific weeks over the course of 2 seasons of their 62 in college football (2012 and 1968) and only stayed in the top 25 in the final poll of the season in 1968. 2 lessons here, 1) be specific, 2) if you see Ohio U in one of these highlight reels it is probably for upsetting a big name school.

2:27 I like the game that Alabama had to play after that shocking loss. They were expected to go to the National Championship game after that game, but since they lost, they had to go to the Sugar Bowl game in 2014 and play my OU Sooners.
I think OU was ranked around 11, and they were 2 TD underdogs going into that game. Nobody gave OU a shot. But OU won by 2 TD's.. It ended in epic fashion too.
It's a bummer this compilation didn't go to 2021, and include the two Red River games between OU and Texas in 2020 and 2021. Those games were two of the most epic games from that roughly 100 year old rivalry. Came down to the wire in both games.

A quick way to tell the home team is that they’re always second on the TV scoreboard. It’s always Nebraska AT Wisconsin (or whatever two teams are playing, the home team is always second). Couple that with the fact that the home team usually wears the darker colored jersey (their ‘home’ jerseys) & the road team will usually have much more white in their uniforms (their ‘road’ jerseys), though in college, this isn’t as straightforward as it is in the NFL.
Of course, the big W on Wisconsin’s helmet & the big N on Nebraska’s helmet could give it away too…😏

Great reaction guys. Always love the CFB ones.
I will say the problem with a lot of these original “best moments” videos and what not though is they don’t do a good job of providing proper context for people who aren’t super familiar with what’s happening already. At the very least the creators need to put some text before each one so the viewer can understand the impact and why each moment or play is important. Not everyone who watches stuff like that is a superfan. If there’s no context the average person is just going to view a lot of stuff as just routine plays and nothing really special.

9:09 Yes, this play stood...but it shouldn't have. At one point it appears that a player was down before he pitched the ball, but even if he wasn't there were a number of penalties committed by Miami on the play. One of the more egregious penalties was that a Miami player came off the sideline to start celebrating while the ball was still in the field of play. You can actually see him in the video. At 9:55 at the top left corner of the screen he comes on the field, with his helmet off, and the ball carrier is at the 16-yard line. How the officials missed that when they reviewed the replay is beyond me.

There will always be omissions in lists like this, but I think it's a disservice to not have the Ole Miss/Arkansas 4th and 25 play on the list. Ole Miss was in the driver's seat to win the SEC West that year due to beating Alabama and they were in an overtime game with Arkansas with a 7 point lead, and Arkansas was faced with a 4th and 25. The play that transpired was unlike anything I've ever seen before and Arkansas went on to win the game and Ole Miss missed out on winning the SEC West yet again.

With as many plays Auburn was involved in on here, I am surprised there were 2 others not in here. The Michael Dyer run in the NC game against Oregon where it looked like he was down but was on top of an Oregon player that put Auburn in position to kick the game winning FG and the the Camback game when Bama went up 28-0 and Auburn came back and won the game which sent them to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game and eventually NC game against Oregon.

Cole Turners father played with Dabo Swinney at Alabama. They were close and when he died of Cancer, he asked Coach Swinney to look after his sons. Cole Turner was a walk on that earned a scholarship. His younger brother is a wide receiver at Clemson. He played in one game. Hey guys great review as always. Damo was correct on the controversy in the Michigan, Michigan State game, if the Michigan punter would have just fallen on the ball the game would have been over and Michigan would have won, but by trying to punt it into the MSU rush it was fumbled and returned for a MSU touchdown and the win. As a Michigan fan it was a bad memory. Lol. On the he Ohio State Purdue game, if you guys ever get a chance to review the game, do so. I think it was from 18 or 19. Purdue played possessed that day. Th re was a Purdue student that has terminal cancer and he was a lifelong Purdue fan, with the team dedicating the game before the win to the student. It was a magical game. They happen so much that many of us SEC fans think that building is cursed by voodoo b/c Auburn keeps pulling off crazy stuff there. Although just this last season the curse might have been broken finally as after a very strange series of plays that saw Alabama on the last play having a 4th and goal from the 31 yard line Jalen Milroe threw a dagger into the heart of their fans and Alabama won a crazy game there instead of losing one. Still creeped out by that stadium though.

The Clowney hit at 16:10 deserves a little more context. On the play before, Michigan had gone for it on 4th down and it was close enough that they brought out the chains to measure. Despite the ball being visibly short of the marker by about half an inch, the referee signaled that Michigan had gotten the first down. This was the very next play (hence the commentator saying "South Carolina deserves to have it").
28:15 - there wasn't really any controversy. There are some folks who wondered why Michigan was trying to punt the ball at all instead of just running around in the backfield to run out the clock (the obvious answer to that is "too much time, risks giving up a chance at a FG to win if you get tackled before time runs out, and if you get chased all the way back and give up a safety it's a tie game"), but it was the right decision, just the worst possible execution. Once the snap was mishandled, the punter would have done better to just fall on it and hope for the best (MSU would have still been outside FG range at that point), but he panicked and instead tried to get the kick away, and the rest is history.
29:35 - Purdue isn't usually great at football (they did have a stretch of excellence with Drew Brees at QB back around 2000, but that's about it), but they do have a notorious record as giant-killers - they have the most wins all-time against top-5 teams while not ranked in the top 25 themselves (17 - and nobody else is even close, I think second-best is 10 or 11). Ohio State seems to be a particularly common victim for them (though by no means the only one; they've done it to Michigan, Michigan State, and Notre Dame multiple times too).
