You know it looks like here that Fin actually enjoys spending time with his family. I know it was all a plot for Esther but he was willing to go away with them even though it was just in response to klaus

Like the comment made. Klaus is like this with Elijah as well. Because Elijah is the older brother, his father figure. While he's like this with Kol, because Kol is impulsive, rebel, quick to the draw.. Dealing with someone like that, Kol is dangerous and unexpected rival. Kol will kill Elena before he touched Klaus. All because he's sneaky like that. Look at what he was doing with Marcel when he was a kid... It's been stated many times Kol is for Kol. He and what he sees, that will get him what he wants. He has no loyalties (until Davina) and that is what scares Klaus. But Kol also knows if Klaus gets the upper hand (which will happen) it's back in the box for him.. so he knows not to push Klaus too far.. Here, in this scene the whole family is there and all of them are angry with Klaus. So he is more inclined to back off. Or 3 other original vampire siblings will stop him. Klaus is strong but holding all of them off isn't gonna happen. Then throw Momma Bear in and Klaus is definitely not going to do anything to anyone.

He's used Marcel against Klaus, and tried to get Rebekah to go in with daggering Klaus. So Kol is definitely the person that Klaus "fears" in that respect. Kol is cunning to the core...
