Welcome to Stray Kids! They are self produced by three members who call their production team 3racha. Someone already broke down the members so I won't repeat that. Leader Bang Chan handpicked each member of this group, something never done before in JYPE. He trained for 7 years before their debut and is well known and respected in the industry. He is extremely protective of the members and of their fanbase Stay. (The fanbase name come because Chan says if you remove the R from stray kids it is the reason. So the fans are the reason for Stray Kids which is a beautiful tribute to their fans) He is very hands on with everything they do and many Stay consider him a comfort blanket. He goes live every Sunday (schedule permitting) to talk to Stay. He listens to music, reacts to videos, laughs at our horrible pick up lines and gives very human and thoughtful advice. Sometimes he even watches reactions people have done of their music and has given call outs to UA-camrs he likes. Honestly I have never seen a group so devoted to their fans as SKZ.
The guys write a lot of songs about mental health and make a point of writing music their fans can relate to. One beautiful example is a song called Secret Secret written by Han about his struggles with anxiety and then the group wrote a response to it called Silent Cry. Put together they are so beautiful.
Stray Kids love to play around with sounds and genres so it changes from song to song. They have harder rap songs like Easy, hype songs like Victory Song, diss tracks for people who criticize them like Thunderous or Cheese. Beautiful lyrical songs like Neverending Story (also called the Story That Never Ends) and you should watch the live version of that one, makes me cry every time. Dance tracks like Backdoor, lighthearted like Case 143, sexy songs like Red Lights and even a feel good summer rock vibe with Time Out. They have multiple songs for each of these but I didn't want to overwhelm you.
Chan and Felix are completely fluent in English being from Austrailia in fact when Felix first moved to Korea to be an idol he knew very little Korean. Seungmin and Han are fluent as well with Hyunjin, Changbin, I.N and Lee Know being in varying levels of English. Usually during English interviews I.N and Lee Know tend to be the most quiet. They do have a few English versions of their songs and some songs have more English interspersed then this one did. You may want to do a color coded lyric video and then the music video or vice versa.
Hope you enjoy more SKZ and I look forward to seeing more.

Let me introduce you to Stray Kids a little more.
Stray Kids is a korean group made of 8 members (originally 9 but one member left the group sooner in their career)
The most important thing you need to know is that they are a self-produced group. As a multi-stan, there are a lot of groups that are part of the making process but I haven't came around a group that really does everything by themselves. Until Stray Kids.
    3RACHA
    - producing team of the group
    - made of Bangchan, Changbin and Han
    - formed before SKZ (Stray Kids)
    - rap-unit before SKZ's debut
    - they make 99,8% of SKZ's music (from beats to lyrics)
They have sub-units within the group. Vocal unit (Seungmin, I.N, Bangchan, Lee Know), rap unit (Changbin, Han, Felix, Hyunjin) and dance unit (Lee Know, Hyunjin, Felix). Despite that, they all can dance, rap and sing very well. Seungmin and I.N mostly sing but other members are often doing both.
    MEMBERS
Bangchan - leader, oldest, main producer, vocalist, rapper
Lee Know - main dancer, vocalist, sometimes raps
Changbin - main rapper, sometimes sings, producer
Hyunjin - main dancer, rapper, vocalist
Han - main rapper, (could be a main) vocalist, producer
Felix - dancer, rapper, sometimes sings
Seungmin - main vocalist, sometimes raps
I.N. - vocalist, sometimes raps, youngest
They make a lot of different genres of music so if you tell us what music you enjoy, we can recommend songs that would fit your taste.
For now, I recommend Scars, Slump and Mixtape: Oh on THE FIRST TAKE (turn on the subs), Back Door, Venom, Lonely St., Easy, Secret Secret and Streetlight (lyric video)
To anwer to some of your comments:
8 members is actually pretty normal for k-pop group. There are groups with 15-20 members.
They have songs in Korean, Japanese and some even in English versions.
Bangchan and Felix are from Australia so they are fluent but most of the members can speak and understand english pretty well. Especially Seungmin and Han.
Every SKZ's music video is crazy good.

I think you’d really like Stray Kids. Their leader, Bangchan, says something very similar to what you said in your intro in almost every weekly live he does. Fans go to him for advice, to vent, recommend songs, and even to flirt with him on occasion 😂
They’re an amazingly talented group, and it’s a rabbit worth falling down. I’d recommend a guide to the members, so that you can get to know them. Make sure it’s an updated guide, as one’s predating 2020 aren’t accurate anymore regarding the group’s lineup. “A long but helpful guide to Stray Kids 2022” is a good one. As for music, Thunderous, Maniac, Easy, BackDoor, and Case 143 are musts. Enjoy the journey 😁

They have 8 members and they are also self producing so make their own beats write their own songs and also help in choreography too ,and 2 of the members Bangchan and Felix are both Australian so they are fluent in English, the other members can speak English they are improving and learning on that. StrayKids are super talented as Stays which is our fandom name we say they're a ground of 8 rappers , dancers singers visuals they can all do everything.

Even though stray kids have 2 fluent English speakers (Bang Chan and Felix are Australian) and a few other members very good at English (seungmin, hyunjin, and Han) the vast majority of their music is still in korean. They have the occasional English song but everything is written in korean initially.
However, going forward, I wouldn't expect that much English in kpop, it is korean after all. What I would recommend is just watch the MV for the visuals and the dancing then either watch a second time for the lyrics or watch a lyric video specifically.
And even if you don't understand the lyrics, the visuals often tell a story on their own and it can be very rewarding to absorb the work done in the MV and attempt to glean some meaning from just that. When I first listened to this song, the MV pretty nicely communicated what they were trying to say. They are makers, builders, chemists, chefs and artists cooking up the best music in their studio and serving it to the audience.

Something that I found helpful when watching kpop MVs is, if not most then all of them have lyric videos that go by color per person to show you who is singing/rapping and what they are saying, so I usually watch the MV (if there is one) and enjoy the choreography and video, and then after I watch the MV, I then go and watch the color coded lyrics video so I can enjoy what they are saying and the MV. That can be something that you do in your videos for now on if you want. Also, almost all kpop songs are a strong mix between english and korean, its pretty much always been like that, some lines and words are in english, while the rest is in korean. Anyways, I love your reaction and ill be looking forward to another amazing reaction.❤💜💚

Ýeah... I'm in my 30s. However, even I was caught off guard a little by the staggeringly high number, truly it's countless at this point, of fans just here on youtube that are even older. Specially reactors in their 50s and over, who have Stray Kids as their favorite artists. Their subscribers tend to be around their age as well, and may I say wow, they tend to have A LOT of subscribers. Haha. All of whom are Stray Kids fans too.
Yesterday, I saw around 50 of their fans who happened toxbe grandparents, talking in the comment section of one of their SKZ reaction videos. (That's the abbreviated form of the group's name.) They were discussing the reasoning behind their love for Stray Kids. Apparently, many of them had originally been trying to either gain understanding of their grandchildrens love of K-pop and/or Rap. And in the process found Stray Kids.
Well, they all seemed to agree that these young men are the reason they finally understand and appreciate Rap and Hip-Hop. They seemd to feel that because they weave it in and out so beautifully, with purpose and lyrics worth hearing, that it made a massive difference to them and created the right kind of impact. Of course they also felt their talent for dancing and having impressive vocal helped a lot of those fans transition more easily than, say.... Just a rapper might have.
So yeah, I would say that they have a very loyal older fanbase. I hear even their concerts are a very even blend of young and old, men and woman. I think that's amazing.

They have two Australian members, who are bilingual. Several other members speak good English. As a kpop group, of course they mostly sing in Korean. However, they have made several English versions of some of their songs. Most of those don't have music videos, but the English version of Double Knot has a performance video, focusing on their dance. It is not quite as good as the original, since one of their best rappers at that time did not speak English well, so he couldn't be as precise and fabulous as he is in Korean (his English has improved a lot since their latest US tour) but several of the other rappers and singers do just fine. ua-cam.com/video/ra0FlN5NBG4/v-deo.html
The English version of Domino is good, but without a video. You might enjoy some of their B-sides that don't have music videos. There are some really good fan-made color coded lyrics videos that have the original Korean along with English translation, and it flashes on the picture of the singer/rapper as they sing/rap. I highly recommend Muddy Water by four of the members, the rap line. It is awesome. Just be aware that the people who make the lyrics videos add some of their own music at the end to avoid copyright issues. Domino also has a lyrics video. There are color coded lyrics videos for almost all their songs, including the ones with mvs, there are some really dedicated fans out there!
They also have several Japanese releases, with Korean versions of several of those. All In and Circus are two good examples. Those don't usually have any English subtitles, until they are released in Korean. As far as I know, they don't have any songs entirely in English that were originally in English, I doubt they have plans for that.

Kpop is a fantastic world to dive into! Yes, Stray Kids do speak English and sing in both languages as well as Japanese. I'll recommend some songs below. But generally for kpop it's recommended to watch it twice. Once to get the visual and sound experience and the second time with the captions to get the meaning if thats what you need to enjoy music. Some people listen without understanding, but some groups, like Stray Kids, have some powerful lyrics with deeper meaning so it helps to read them at least once. Their whole focus is encouraging people to be themselves, and reaching everybody who is feeling lost and like they don't belong... Hence the name Stray Kids and the message at the end of all their videos: Stray kids everywhere all around the world, you make stray kids stay. Their fandom is called Stay. We are Stays. They have some of the most credited (copyright count for music they've produced) idols in kpop as well as some of the best and fastest rappers in kpop too. Definitely worth diving into their discography.
    Some English songs they have:
Levanter, Domino, Double Knot, Top (an anime ost)
Then some others which I recommend to check out:
Helevator, Maniac, District 9, Miroh, Scars, Easy

I wonder if it would be easier for you to watch the lyric video as well just so then during the mv you can focus on the visuals and then on the lyric video you can figure out what theyre saying? Im sure people would still be interested in a slightly longer video with that kind of content!
    I would watch!

They do have English versions of several songs. My favorite is "Levanter"... It's absolutely stunning and by far one of the best English language songs I have heard sung by a K-pop artist. That said, I would recommend that you contemplate what you are asking. English remakes often lack the whole... you know, being good thing. Stray Kids English songs, for the most part, are one of the few exemptions to this rule. The leader, as well as several other members, are either native English speakers or they are near fluent. Two of them are from Australia, including the leader. and they are completely responsible for the creation of their own music. Allowing for the lyrics to be great to. If they aren't able to simply translate a song, they will rewrite it completely sometimes. That means the English version and the Korean or Japanese versions are completely different songs.
However, this is definitely the norm and should not be expected when looking for songs. Not even from them, and certainly not when looking for songs from other groups. The most famous K-pop group BTS only has one member that speaks fluent English, however their English songs were written for them by Ed Sheeran, and those songs are the only ones in English. Same with BlackPink, except they don't write their music at all, and the girls are all very westernized artists. Aeveral of which speak fluent english. For example, many of the members of BTS had to practice their pronunciation of the words to those songs countless times to be able to sing them.
Those two groups are far more westernized that the others. Which makes sense they are big everywhere. Most groups however don't have enough English speakers in their whole company to have allotted the group the ability to know if they are even wording the song right, so forget singing the words correctly. These groups are still, at their core, Korean groups. I mean, you obviously wouldn't go to another country where they speak a different language, and expect their signs to be in English, would you? Well, same things goes for K-pop songs. So unfortunately, English music from most of their artists, however not all, tend to lack proper pronunciation or proper language ability in many cases. At least not at a level that would garner contentment form most English speakers.
Hense why they tend not to do so at all, or their English versions of songs are really lacking. Some of them, you may not even be able to understand them without the subtitles still being on. Many of these groups already know several languages because the members are from other Asian countries and the majority of groups tend to sing in at least one other language as well. For example, Japanese... Since K-pop is very popular there and they prefer for the music to be in Japanese to really be accepted by the Japanese market with the exemption of the initial debute of the group.
So these artists are already spread so thin when it comes to language that by the time it came to them blowing up in English speaking countries. It was down to just the groups who has members that already speak English, to be able to have English songs to appease these countries as first. We are very expecting people, and I have always felt so bad about that. I hate that we expect others to just make our job easier and sing or speak in English because we don't want to try.
No one ever contemplates that perhaps if they want to know what they are saying, then perhaps they should learn Hangul... No offense to you of course, im glad you were honest. I'm just speaking in general, it's sad we ALL expected it. I mean, that would be like us trying to write a song and sing it in Polish... or Greek. It probably wouldn't work. So just keep that in mind when you are talking about wanting English songs from a non American group. 🖤🖤

Nice reaction. I wouldn’t get too hung up on subtitles; you’ll get used to them eventually. Especially if you follow us down the rabbit hole that is the K-pop industry lol. All the recommendations mentioned for Stray Kids are great, but I’ll add a couple more:the English version of Double Knot, and the live Stray Kids/Blank Pink fusion song God’s Du-Du-Du. Enjoy the ride! P.S.: Monsta X is a Korean group that has 2 full English albums that are fantastic.

If you want to be able to focus on the video i think you should watch it without subs and then watch again with subtitles or just look at the lyrics separately afterwards. Two members (Bang Chan and Felix) are from Australia and speak fluent English, while the other members are learning. Most Kpop songs mix both Eng and Kor together even if the members aren't good with Eng, so it's rare to get a full English song.

I love love love Stray Kids. It does take a bit get used to on the sub titles and watching the video. The all speak English some better than others. I usually just watch the video first then I watch it with sub titles on or the lyric videos. I love all their music and I'm 50 and grew up with 80s Rock.

Stray Kids have done English versions of songs but I don't think they have any songs that are originally full English. They use both Korean and English in their songs (Japanese in their Japanese songs). 2 of the members are actually from Australia so they are fluent in English and the rest of the 8 can understand and speak English all to a certain degree(like 3 of them are really good and the other 3 understand it well but can't speak as much)

If you would like, to get a better understanding of the song, you could react to the lyric videos available on youtube before you watch the m/v, those would also let you get to know the members and their roles :)
Also, they don't have any FULL original English songs, just english versions of their Korean music however the english versions of DOMINO (HIGHLY recommend), levanter and slump (Japanese originally) are fantastic. Laventer has an M/V for the Korean version, as does slump for the Japanese version. Domino does not.
Other songs I recommend (Korean mostly, with english mixed in) are maze of memories (a big chunk is in English, no M/V), easy, 3RACHA (the song not the skz unit, no M/V), taste (no M/V), venom, maniac, back door , the view and hello stranger :)

First off let me say that I really love your reaction. So please don’t take what I’m about to say as negative. If you were going to react to K-pop you’re gonna have to let the whole not English tango. Very few of them right English songs, and the English songs are not nearly as good as the Korean songs. I understand it can be hard to read close captions and watch visuals so I understand your dilemma. My suggestion is to just watch the video without subtitles first and then watch the video with subtitles. I know it will make for a longer video but you’ll get to enjoy both the lyrics and the video. We have to understand and appreciate that Korean is their language and that is what they The rap and sing in and it should be appreciated for what it is. Again I don’t think you are dissing the language or anything like that, it’s just don’t expect a bunch of English from people who are from a country that is not predominantly English-speaking. Thank you for reacting to them though, and I hope to see more. It is so awesome to see more people be exposed and enjoy the world of Korean music especially Straykids

hey, your way too hard on yourself. What I recommend for those who don't watch much foreign t.v or just subtitle in general and they are new to kpop, is to watch it twice. once for the video and song and once for the lyrics. there is no pressure to get it all in one viewing. never.
(fans like that are just toxic).
English songs I like are Levanter and Slump.
