• Skillet - Awake and Al...
The drummer's name is Jen Ledger. She does have a solo side project called "Ledger". I recommend "I'm Not Dead Yet" and 'My Arms". Skillet has been a band for more than 26 years. They have a different guitar player since 2011 named Seth Morrison. Wicked good. Try "Dominion" for an awesome guitar solo. Other anthemic songs are "Feel Invincible", "Surviving the Game", "Legendary", and "Undefeated". Their current top songs are "Psycho in my Head" and "Finish Line, with Adam Gontier". Have fun!
thank you so much for the info! Im going to get right on these! I loved both songs Ive heard! I actually played that song probably 30 times at work today lol
Skillet is a Christian rock band. They are a faith based band. The drummer Jen Ledger is from England
Skillet is a really good band great reaction!!
Thank you for the support! Yeah they already made me a fan after 2 songs! I will be checking out more of thier content!
@@evfamilyent good stuff man. I would love to do reactions with you one day haha sounds alot of fun. One of My buddys is a huge skillet fan
Skillet's been around since 1996, but John Cooper (lead vocals/bass) is the only original member. His wife, Korey (rhythm guitar/keys/vocals) joined a couple years later. Jen Ledger joined Skillet in January 2008 after previous drummer Lori Peters left the band. Jen was only 17 when she auditioned and 18 when she went on her first tour with Skillet. John didn't want to audition her because she had no experience outside of playing for the church praise band (she went to the same church as the Coopers) and tried to make her audition harder, but she killed it anyway. Korey, John's wife had pushed him to have her audition since she didn't want to be the only girl in the band. This song and Hero were actually written for Korey to sing backing vocals as Jen had only auditioned for drums, not vocals. I guess along the way somebody heard her sing though, and the story goes that Korey made something up where she wasn't available to record vocals for the demo for Hero and asked Jen to "fill in". Then everybody who heard it was like, OK Jen, you're our new backup singer now!
Great background! I love Kory's voice and the older songs where she is prominent (and I wish she sang a bit more), but there's no doubt that Jen & John's vocal match is magical. Still sends chills all the time. Kory said she recognized Jen has like 1 in a million star power that she's seldom seen. Another trivia bit, is that they made Jen play RUSH's Tom Sawyer for that drum tryout, which Neil Peart had said was one of their hardest drum songs. I know there are a lot of great drummers, but I really think Jen is among the top few best living drummers today.
They have been around since 1999 and got millions and millions of views and listens of many of their songs. They got plenty of hits and won several grammy.
"The resistance" is a newer one and also anthem like sounding..
Thank you for letting me know! I'm going to check it out asap!
I always tell people they are probably the top band you might never have heard of. I guess one of the top selling bands this century.
John and Jen's voices pair so perfectly. They've been solid, released their latest song earlier this year. A lot of their songs are anthemic, but they have evolved a lot over the years, there's something for everyone. Their song Legendary was actually the theme for WWE(?) for a time. Definitely need to check out their songs Legendary, Not Gonna Die (has a lot of Jen), Ignite, Finish Line, Back to Life, Standing in the Storm, Resistance...a slower ballad type with a back and forth between John and Jen, Forever or the End. John has an on going Podcast, probably one of the most accessible bands out there. I love them because they're Christians but they don't get preachy so their song just have the feeling of hope. John and Seth (guitar) have a side project called Fight the Fury, a little harder Rock than Skillet. John's wife Korey is on guitar, keyboard, as well as most production and basically everything behind the scenes.
Totally agree with all you said, and the comments already posted. In addition to the songs recommended, I'd recommend "Victorious" is a awesome for John and Jens vocal magic in the chorus - just so well written and done.
Skillet is still putting out new material. They tour on a regular basis. Aside from 2020, I've seen them for the last 5 or 6 years every year. If you ever get a chance, I would highly recommend seeing them live, they put on a great show. Get familiar with their songs, and it's that much better. The first time I saw them, I didn't know any of their music, so it wasn't as fun. I've gotten to know their music, and as you said, they are FIRE.
Some great songs for you to check out...a couple of anthems would be Legendary, and Feel Invincible. Surviving the Game, Monster, The Resistance, Comatose, Sick of It. So many good songs for you to check out. Enjoy the ride.
If you want to know what John Cooper (frontman) thinks about things now he has a podcast here on youtube called cooper stuff. He talks about things going on in our world right now. I love his opinions and he is funny too. He also just wrote a book called Weak, Wimpy and Woke.
Check out their song Victorious(yes Jen sings in this one), it’s top 3 for me as far as Skillet goes. I also want Would It Matter played at my funeral.
Skillet is the Metallica for Christian music. Been a BIG influence in my life....
The drummer Jen Ledger actually joined the band when she was 18.
Try the resistance, not gonna die and feel invincible.
Definitely will! I want to get more skillet on the channel today honestly!
check out her band Ledger. They are good as well
okay thank you for letting me know! I deffinitly will!
Listen to comatose feel invisible monster

Comatose is my 2nd favorite song after Awake and Alive, and is a similar style.@@evfamilyent
