    I love watching your videos. Your detailed instructions and calm, soothing voice is a blessing to any young wife/mom who is new to the kitchen. The women in my family give me anxieties when they attempt to teach, which is probably why I didn't learn. Cooking is not common sense to everyone (especially not me) so I would much rather pull up your videos where I can get all the secret tips of food prep/cooking and not just the recipe💓

    Thank you for all your videos!! My mom made fry aloo for my children with sada roti every week. She has passed away 3 years ago but my children will always remember the loving care she took when making this dish for them. I continue to make it for them now.

    I’ve always loved my fried aloo crispy but at a New Year celebration for temple folks, someone brought their version of fried aloo and they added fresh tomatoes while cooking it. I was blown away by how tasty the dish was; definitely not crispy but not soggy either. Just really tasty. Sometimes I make it that way.
    I don’t like when the garlic and onions are too charred and a cousin taught me her trick. Once the aloo (or okra) is almost done cooking she adds the garlic and onion.

    This looks great, if everyone would do the same with their saltfish fry it first until crispy before adding veggies then they would have nice crispy fried saltfish instead of boil texture ❤❤❤

    Yum delicuous! Just the way i like t, too. I dont indulge in too much of butter/cheese etc, but I do like some good quality butter in my sada roti with that fried aloo, and bird pepper.

    Hello, I tried making this tonight but it turned out a disaster! It's like I'm no good in making indian dishes and my extended family make fun of me. My potato took very long to cook and by the time it got soft, it wasn't white any more. It more looked like a stew 😔

    • @CookingWithRia
      @CookingWithRia  Рік тому

      Don’t give up! We all have failures when we are learning -even with the best recipe. Watch the video again. Not supposed to be white. Fry aloo should have brown bits. If it turned out like a stew then it either had too much liquid in it to start with, heat was too low or it was covered too long. Regardless we also cook it like a stew. With sufficient ingredients the flavor should have been there. Good luck.
