WONDERFUL INTERVIEW.... Amanda should NEVER DOUBT her talents, contribution, philanthropy, incredible energy and accomplishments...she's AMAZING, beautiful inside and out. She should ALWAYS feel extreme pride in all her roles and responsibilities. Much admiration and ❤ Glad you're blonde again...love your characters...but Sam Carter's my FAVORITE 😊
Never tire of hearing this lovely lady chat at these Cons :). From her first walk in in Episode 1 of SG1 she’s been such a valuable beacon for how to be a ‘Strong Woman’ without just acting like a funny shaped ‘Man’ (why the present Hollywood crop of creatives can’t get this right is beyond me).
Absolutely right. I think it would not only have been a grievous insult to the character but would have really hurt the show in the long run to have a sort of ‘stock’ kick-ass-babe in the team rather than the solid resource that Carter was.
Yeah, that's why I always liked Sam best out of all the female team members in Stargate. She was pretty but she didn't make a thing out of it by wearing revealing clothing, which made her more beautiful because she wasn't trying to be sexy. Teyla was a good character but she had the whole sexy kick-ass cliche. I didn't like Vala in season 9 because she was basically just the cliche personified. I liked her better in season 10 because the Adria storyline made her grow up a bit and added depth to her character, but I'd still take Sam over her any day. It's strange to think that Sam could have just been another sexy ass-kicker cliche if they hadn't cast an actress who was willing to tell them no.
I've acted for a lot of time on stage and a couple of independent films and never had I thought about learning of the camera and directing parts and hearing her talk about it is making me regret not learning when I had the chance.
Please, please everyone who goes to cons, stop asking actors what actor they liked kissing the most. It's cringeworthy. Ship the hell out of characters, but a clean line between them and the performers should remain. And it's not like those types of questions haven't been asked 1000 already.
Carter was an amazing female role model and character, but when the show was on the air, was I the only one who was a bit frustrated with how proper Carter was all the time? I wanted her to seem more emotionally honest. She just seemed so together all the time, and that's why most people loved her, but it annoyed me at times. I felt the same with Daniel. Always so professionally perfect that they didn't seem very human at times.
Really? Every other episode she was a damsel in distress being saved by the boys. Besides Delenn in B5, sci-fi hasn't had a strong female lead since Aliens.
She had to be proper, as she is a female officer working in this man army (airforce). Some people believe that women shouldn't be in uniform, so every thing that she did will be scrutinised by kinsey and the people like him.
@Zed Some people think any woman who accepts help from a man with anything is a damsel in distress. @Chris Bingley It's called being a team and being willing to put your lives in each others hands. There wasn't a single member of SG-1 who didn't depend on the others to rescue them at some point or other.
Amanda tapping was great but she mentioned the show travelers which was not that good it's not even in the same league as stargate or any decent sci-fi series made
When she was telling the push-up bra & tank top story my first thought was Weaver in Galaxy Quest with the blonde bob and boobs - and what they were saying with her character. But also. as cringey as the "my reproductive organs are on the inside" line was, any military women that would say that, would probably not wear the push-up bra & tank top. Some of those producers really can screw up a show if you let them. 😎
Nah, when you put the line and the outfit together they fit a certain sort of cliche: the don't any man dare look at my chest even though I've put my breasts as much on display as possible type.
I think Amanda Tapping’s giggle needs a fandom of its own.
Wow, great interview , loved how well Amanda explained everything in great detail. Amanda is a great actress, Sam will always be my favorite.
Amanda is still beautiful ..... looks great !!!!! you nailed Carter great work

She even today is still so beautiful 😍
OMG ! 😍 I love how much She ships to Jack and Sam !! 😍😍

Amanda Tapping had short hair at the time in Stargate SG1.
Even now, I look at her head
I think a short cut looks good.😊
best sound on a panel ive ever seen :)
Kudos to Amanda Tapping for sticking up for herself Carter wouldn't of been the same if they went the bond babe route 👍🏿💪🏿✊🏿

i'm tearing up :''')) This is so cute! I was watching the livestream but thank you so much for sharing it
That's Amanda Tapping sporting her SG-1 Season 4b-6 pixie cut!! :)
She is a beautiful woman With that short, blond hair. That long Brown hair she had didn`t show her georgeus face.
I love both looks, but I definitely have a soft spot for the blonde pixie.
It’s her saeason3 travelers look.
Amanda Tapping being told she was a role model and should write was cute af
Awe. The way she speak and move still remind me of Samantha
She was my childhood crush, and damn she still looks good old!
Delete the 'old' part, and you're 100% correct. She STILL looks good.
You stopped having a crush on her?... Also, 55 is not that old
58:22 I love that her dad calls her Sam! She is literally Sam!
bring back Stargate sg1 and Richard Dean Anderson and Amanda Tapping
They're a bit too long in the tooth to save the universe now
But they are so old... :(
@@Wealily so what?
Dan with age comes wisdom. Not too hard to pull the trigger and shoot some bad guys.
Richard didn't make any movie/series since 2013. His surgeries over the past years taken their toll. He won't do anything.
Amanda is great! Watching on tiny cell screen. What group came in at end? Connection to Amanda?
I'm always anxious when people stand near the event horizon of a Stargate, real or fake.

Opinions are like assholes..... they're every where
It’s part of the job
I mean, sure, but tbf, the first question was David DeLuise getting up and asking "How do you really feel about Pete Shanahan."
I agree about not asking that question. It's pointless and cringy. It's part of the job, it's not part of the ship.
I so want her to play the Doctor.
Looks like she was destined to play Sam! =)
She's so funny. 🤣🤣🤣
why is she alone on stage and not with other sg1 crew?
Is that Steve at the very end?
Shit ton of people was at gatecon why is she alone?
Meg akartam nézni élőben de lemaradtam😭
This video is seriously underrated...

Chris Bingley Actually it was usually her saving everybody because of (say with big echo) SCIENCE!
@Zed Some people think any woman who accepts help from a man with anything is a damsel in distress.
@Chris Bingley It's called being a team and being willing to put your lives in each others hands. There wasn't a single member of SG-1 who didn't depend on the others to rescue them at some point or other.
They seemed perfectly human to me. The only thing Sam was particularly proper about was addressing O'Neill as "Sir".
Aw, she's s great lady
She seems so sweet. Very nice
I had a crush on Carter from episode 1.
Jack would be the First Gentleman, Amanda, not First Lady lol. :) She's so funny.
I always preferred First Lord.
Sounds a bit Goa'uld when Stargate's involved, though.
This was three years ago. Grandma will expire before another spin-off starts filming. RIP, Stargate.
amanda and jr in that elevator scene in STUCK
WOW. what a beautiful person
Amanda Awesome.
sam carter dating alex russo's dad is crazy to me
I was rooting for ya, Pete!! David DeLuise is handsome!
she looks good for 54.
Sam's fans here.
damn i love her
good thing we couldn't fully hear the cringe intro. crisis averted.
Amanda tapping was great but she mentioned the show travelers which was not that good it's not even in the same league as stargate or any decent sci-fi series made

She seems like a hardcore SJW shill
