+Zadamanim I think this song is an argument between two people. One optimist and one pessimist. The pessimist claims the past was more tranquil and less chaotic then now. The chorus is his speech. "What for? What for? Out THERE, everything's here. BEFORE, there's more. In here, everything's THERE." It's like the pessimist is trying to contradict the other. While the optimist in the beginning says "It's a beautiful world. Can't you see it anymore?" As well as many other inspiring things.

When I hear this song, I think of the game That Dragon Cancer (Amazing game!), like the sound effects in the beginning are sounds of the hospital (Maybe someone pouring water to drink for a patient, the beeping of a heart monitor) and the song is like the family telling Joel that even if he doesn't survive the cancer, that he can still enjoy this beautiful world with what time he has left. This could also be encouragement for Joel to keep going and survive his cancer.

It's been a while since I've listened to this. I just now realized how EDEN and Tennyson sound a little similar at least in the beginning. Then he sounds more distinct as the song goes on. Kinda surprised to find that there's only 1M views still tho. Dang.

Why is this song so beautiful? It perfectly depicts what beauty the world can have. Even through everything we put it through, it still manages to find ways to stay beautiful. We really do take this planet for granted. There's so much more it can be, we just have to stop being selfish and come together in peace rather than fight for ourselves.

IT's music like this that helps me forget the hardships of life and fills my heart.
Makes me think how badly WE treat this world
a deeper meaning I have found in this song is a person looking at at their world for something they are missing and seeing the world as something different but discovering that they themselves already had what they were looking for and just had to realize this to see the world around them and themselves in a different light, and understand that the world isnt their only world, but that they themselves choose who/what is their world. Finally understanding that they are not just a small part of a larger world they cant influence, but that they can change the world now that they see it differently, that they can make a difference in the world that they are a part of
