    Good informative video man.
    Often I’ll sample and chop up for my melodies but I find nothing better than improvising and playing it out on notes to get a specific vibe.
    The MPC range (I’m on Mpc Live) are so much more than a drum machine, practically limitless what you can create with these.
    Keep up the tutorials 🔥

      @InsideOutBeats improvising is the best thing that I ever picked up. I think without improvising I would have not enjoyed the MPC as much. Luckily there are a lot of tools in the mpc that allows improvisation. This is great since I come from a piano background

    Newly subbed! This was really refreshing to watch. Appreciate your technique and the breakdown for us. The little part about the 'blue' notes was the real gem! Salute!

    This is an interesting video and I would like you to touch on a couple things:
    1. what about the bass? What improvisation tips do you have? What scale and key would you use?
    2. So you completed the 16-bar loop, but I would like you to go deeper. It seems that you have a good grasp on jazz, I am interested, what would the arrangement look like in an improvised beat; would it have a similar structure to pop: intro, verse, chorus, bridge, etc., or what would it look like. What elements would you take on and take off? Would the verses be improvised as well or would they tend to have some parts of the chorus? I imagine the bridges can be either a solo improvisation...
    Good job, but I want to know more.

      Hey Thank you for checking out the video and commenting.
      1. Oops looks like I missed out on the Bass. I will have to sharpen my bass skills first.
      2. Jazz is a genre that I feel like I never truly understand since there are so many jazz pieces that are so different. My personal favorite and style I would like to make is Autumn Leaves performed by Eric Clapton. Yes it is classified as (blues, rock) but it is still a jazz piece and Blues and JAzz are extremely similar in arrangement.
      Check out the song. It follows a simple beautiful arrangement with an interesting yet simple chord progression. The melody is simple. But may favorite part is the end In which you throw in some improvised riffs which can sometimes not be planned and then finish the song with the melody. This is one way of many ways of arranging jazz and also any genre can do this. So yeh My personal favorite elements are improvising and riffing and I like to do that when I make beats.
      Also I am also making a "JAzzy sounding beat" not actual jazz since I am missing a lot of components like a recognizable melody, chorus, Proper jazz drumming etc.
      I am just Riffing in the video using more notes jazz and blues like to use lol
      I don't think I will make a proper "How to make jazz". If you are interested in making jazz music i would personally try to recreate a song you like and look for a tutorial there. There is a lot to digest. I only know autumn leaves but for me that was enough because I would just improvise hours on hours to that song on the keyboard.
      Blues I played on the guitar because for some reason despite never really listening to blues on the guitar, Playing Blues on the guitar is addicting.

    Where did you get the knobs from?

    • @ChunkySq
      @ChunkySq  6 місяців тому

      I got them off of amazon. If you search "MPC Knobs" or "Guitar Knobs" on amazon you will find a huge selection on sizes and colors for knobs. All if not most should fit since the knobs can adjust.

    • @ChunkySq
      @ChunkySq  5 місяців тому

      No but a Chunky Squirrel might visit you at night in a Paralysis demon form asking you "why havent you learn how to play piano on the MPC"

    Wow, super easy, all u need is to be able play u the piano, hold my beer I'll be back in 5 years,.

      Honestly You can play most songs in your first year if you put in 1 - 2 hours a day. I mean for me practicing was fun but unless you don't like to practice piano then hey the MPC has a pad perform note mode so you can at least hit some notes while being on KEY!!!!

    You said from scratch but you using a loop.. so I'm guessing you should change the title to half n half lol

    • @ChunkySq
      @ChunkySq  6 місяців тому +3

      You mean a pre-made loop? The entire vid I made all the melodies and drums using note perform mode.
      Well the drums I used a note repeat hack so maybe that was what you meant?
