60psi on cold start seems pretty low. I have the same GlowShift gauge in my car. Cold start on my B18B1 with 5w-30 is 80+psi on a 75deg day. The lower oil pressure is probably the result of the knocking-bearing's clearance being "hammered" further open (allowing pressure to escape). It sucks that the engine didn't hold, but I know you will bounce back.
Same feeling when I see an unmolested dashboard one day and another day I see somebody cut into it just to remove the heater/AC controls. Like why dude
Dana, 60 oil psi when ( cold ) the first start then 40 at operating temperature 192 makes sense because when I rev higher than 2000 rpm gets close to 60 psi mean oil pump is working. 80 is too high and 80 psi for oil pump sound unreliable not going to last
See you take Window winder mechanics off with screw driver rather than risking scratches on door trim try old rag or Ur shirt slide behind clip pull up move left to right with rag or shirt to pull clip
I have a question ❓With the kswap motor when u do the type of oil pump and on those k serious motors do they have oil squirters cause if you take them out and don't plug the hole you can have low oil pressure reading right
Spun bearings normally will have a higher oil pressure. let it warm up it should drop with good bearings, if oil pressure don't drop its a spun bearing. Oil pressure is created by the bearings.
I agree with you.A spun KNOCKING bearing means EXCESS clearance therefor the 1-2 thousandths clearance is now .025-.062 meaning that bearing cant' build up pressure,right.?One issue i saw was flow into the bottle was way to low ,that could mean bypass valve stuck open?It will be interesting to see the autopsy.thanks

I literally see when yards get stuff in and I either leave work early or take the next day off to be the first to put hands on it. And I also don’t complain that I didn’t take something I should have bought I make sure I buy everything I need or know I can turn a profit on. And if breaking something on an older car to get my parts off then oh well that’s what happens. Ps you lr cali you pull it prices are sky high and I feel bad.

Yea those bearings are toast. Cold oil pressure is usually really high so I’d say that 60 psi is still low for a cold start.
Correct normally i see 80-90 psi on most cars when its hot that shit drops so much so id say he had a bad pump

You probably need to upgrade your crankshaft pulley. Too much vibration I hear messes with the oil pump. Too many hot runs in a row will do it to.

60 psi is wayyyy too low for a k. It should be over 80 on a cold start. Theres a clog somewhere
