The fun of this show is the interaction between the different singers. When Floor started this show all of the other singers though Floor was some screaming heavy metal chick. They found out she was amazing and all of them needed to give their best to try to keep up with her. Henk added some distortion to his voice to honor Floor. That is why you see Floor so happy as she looks to the other performers with such joy. This show brought awareness and mas popularity to Floor in The Netherlands. They did not know of her incredible vocal talents.
If you want to see surprised faces, try Floor´s Vilja Lied. It was the first performance of the show (and Phantom was the last, so Floor opened and closed the show).

This was the closing performance of the 2019 series, so although they already have some idea of Floor's abilities, this hit a new level. All of them are successful professional singers, so impressing them is no easy task. Floor was taken to see "The Phantom" as a child, and Henk was THE Phantom to all Dutch audiences (and Andrew Lloyd Webber's favourite Phantom). She adored him in his performance, and when she discovered that he would be on the show with her, she went all fan-girly :-) They had some time to get to know each other, then each singer has a day (actually half a day, as they filmed two episodes per day, but it was presented as their day in the series) when all the others sing for them - a song of theirs, an adaptation, or a song that has particular meaning to them. Just to really raise the pressure on Floor, Henk was the first "Guest of honour" and Floor was the first up to sing for him. She chose "Vilja Lied" from "The Merry Widow", and performed it in the original German - much to the amazement of all except Henk, who had come across her as she did some study at the conservatorium Tilberg (of which he is a graduate) and his voice coach had mentioned her and he had heard a little of her singing - the only other one to know her previous to the show was Tim Akkerman, who had crossed paths with her on the festival circuit. I don't think he realised her versatility though! The others had never heard of her (which is a sad indictment on the Dutch broadcast media), so were blown away with every performance. Tears from all at one stage or another, sometimes several. There really are some very moving moments. Tim professed to being unable to cry since childhood near the beginning of the series, but Floor had him reaching for the tissues. "Winner", the song he wrote for his paraplegic brother, she sang back for him AND his brother. I recommend finding the reaction on DailyMotion as there are subtitles and the whole lead up to the song and reaction to it are included (well, the whole series is there). In the final show, each participant gets to ask another to sing a duet with them. Floor asked Henk to perform this, and Henk had one condition - that he be allowed to join Nightwish to perform it with them on stage on their next show in The Netherlands. Events have delayed it, but it is still planned, and I hope will be recorded to the usual impeccable Nightwish standard. In this performance, a heavy storm was breaking overhead - so severe that the pavilion they were recording in was bulging with water, which was leaking down in streams all over the place. If you see feet on couches, it isn't for comfort - they are being flooded out. You can actually see the streams of water in a few of the shots and that thunderclap at the start is not an effect - it just arrived at the perfect moment, or the band were just ready and caught the first rumble and made use of it. TBH, there is not a bad performance in this series, although not all are my preferred genre. I watched the entire series with subtitles. I wish we had an equivalent here in the UK. Of course, all Floor's performances are excellent, and all added something to the other participant's realisation of the range of her ability. This was the final icing on the cake, with the last note being a cherry on top! Definitely Queen to D6, Checkmate!
Emma from the show sings a song called Strong for Floor which Floor wrote about her mother,a bit of a tearjerker but i'm sure you will love it.I should add that Floor rarely sings it herself as she gets very emotional singing it.
Winner is a great song that Floor has dome in this show and Shallow , I do'nt now about love amd viljalied to ! Ah well every thing she did was beautyfull ❤️ !

Did some older songs from her After Forever en ReVamp era with a little help from Henk. Killed it and the audience went nuts. The roof went off when they did this one as a closer!!
Henk Poort is 62 and was the Dutch Phantom. He did an another duet with Emma Heesters Vivo Per Lei. He also did the sound of silence (the disturbed version) solo. Floor did an other duet with Tim Akkerman shalow and she did also shallow as solo (her version) and Vilja Lied. I hope you will react to this

September 1st 2021 i went to Floor her concert (would have been in october 2020 but because of Covid it changed almost a whole year later) and Henk Poort was special quest. In december 2022 i went to Henk Poort his own concert, was on front row, and was amazing as well! Have a picture with him together after his concert. I love your reaction!
I never listen to mainstream music either, but from this performance you can take any songs Floor sings, they are all differents, all great and really highlight her vocal capacities.
She was the most accomplished in the group, other than Henk. I don't think she would have done that show without Henk. She fangirled on hm.The very first song of the first episode, she sang for him and it blew everyone away. I highly record watching that one. She actually sings in German but you can click on CC and get subtitles.
Henk added the raspy voice section just for Floor. He had NEVER done that before, hence the reaction to it. Henk was one of Floors big idols when she was a girl, it was a dream come true for her to sing with him. They are now friends...
For me this is the Duet of the Century. Great acting and singing from both of these vocal giants. Henk sang this role for ages in the "Phantom's" Dutch production. We have in Finland exactly the same type of show "Vain elämää" (maybe in Sweden too?). It's very famous. Bestezangers is the original format. There famous singers gather to sing each other's songs or other songs meaningful to them (no competition). All the Floor's performances and some others on this show are excellent. A little patriotic side note: Floor's necklace is provided by the Finnish jewellery "Kareliakoru" from the Nightwish's own series "Evolution by Nightwish". Greetings from the snowy Finland! ⛄👍❄

Well done a great start, He was in The Phantom in The Netherlands. Floor had a crush on him when she was six !! She sings Vilja Lied to him in the first show when hardly anyone had heard of Floor and blew them away. That's the one to watch.

Henk was supposed to sing the phantom with Nightwish in the Netherlands when they went on tour, but for some reason the tour was cancelled. I think you would like the first song of the season of beste zangers except one, none had heard her sing. @@Stanzishouse Just a bit of info on this show just in case... 5 artists participating take turns to sing to one artist every week their version of that artisit's songs or a random song that has a special meaning to that artist. The singers are rated in performance and emotion they put into the song. In the end, Floor was the "Best Singer" and won in the show. Phantom of the Opera was their Grand Finale in the show's final episode of the season in December so basically that was a treat for everyone. 😊👍. Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. You will probably like all of her performances, Floor is specially good at making a person like songs she covers from genres completely opposite to what that person usually listens to. Also, she sings in spanish in one 'latin/salsa/whatever' song, you might be interested in that one in particular ^^

Henk was Floor's idol since childhood, so this duet of The Phantom was a dream come true for her. How to start to choose songs from that season of Beste Zangers. Undisputedly this was the best season by far of the series. And not only Floor shined. Of course all the songs by Floor are mindblowing, but all the songs to her are also a must see. For example Hotel California by Rolf Sanchez has a nice Latin take on the original. Another pick would be the duet Vivo Per Lei by Emma Heesters and Henk Poort.

Great reaction ..... i suggest Shallow from the same show. Both versions (one solo and one duett, both with floor, needless to say, floor is shreddering Lady Gagas original ^^) But all songs from Floor at this show are quite awesome ... and the other singers too. Before "Beste Zangers" Floor was virtually unknown in the Netherlands. After the show no more ^^

In the Metal scene that is quite big in the Netherlands. Floor already was a legendary vocalist. I have been a fan of her since 2002. Saw After Forever quite a few times. Highlight was meeting the band in 2007. Drinking a few beers together. But as always the MSM and the popculture radiostation have no attention for it.

Hi Constanza's, as you've likely learned, Floor used to be a vocal coach. One of her students for two years, Noa Gruman, has an up and coming Symphonic/prog metal band called Scardust. Check out their song "Gone" off their new album to hear some high notes and even a growl that could be influenced by Floor. Great musicians too, they are prog, so the song pulls in many musical styles.

I'm also not really a fan of Opera or Musicals, but i like this version, because it's a little bit metal stile, very much. Honestly Floor floored them with every performance on the show. I really recommend every one of her covers from this show. But my favourite was her first performance Vilja Lied. Also, there are versions of her performances with english subtitles by Jenniezelf. They show some stuff before and after the songs. Very worthwhile to check out.
To understand the general bafflement and sense of "Who the hell is this woman?!" that went around the other singers minds, you really need to hear the very first song Floor performed on this show. She also opened the show, being the very first performer. She sang a German aria called "Vilja Lied", in German (Floor sang German, Dutch, English and Spanish on this show), to Henk. Only Tim Aakerman (guy with the Ramones shirt) knew who Floor and Nightwish were and I guess Henk was "aware" of Floor, but to all the others, she was the never-heard-off-before metal chick. And "metal" pretty much had a depreciative connotation there. So, when she opens up with an aria, their brains pretty much short-circuited. Give it a go, if you will, but you really should check all her performances. She was incredible every single week, not by just singing in different languages, but also different styles. And if you want to hear Floor singing a salsa song (with her own twist) in Spanish, this is the show for it.

Costanza, it was plant for the Nightwish 2020 Amsterdam gig, before the corona crisis spoiled so much in the world, that Henk Poort took the stage with them. After Beste Zangers' Floor succes they created a sold out Floor tour in the Netherlands and Henk Poort joinend in a few songs, one After Forever song. Floor's original band where it all started. ( added later - could have been a Revamp song, the second band) There would have been better camera footages of the last Amsterdam 2020 concerts but Corona prevented this too. So you where rigt with your remark that they should sing together more. Thanks!
Wasn't that amazing? Floor was inspired by Henk when she was a youngster, (he was an Andrew Lloyd Webber favourite for the part of the Phantom), that's real fangirling you could see :) The Beste Zangers show format is super too, well worth watching the whole show (for the info and comments between each song) and the rest of the 2019 series! Oh, and other years too... Several Dutch singers from different genres are invited for a holiday in Ibiza, they get to know each other with picnics and walks on the beach during the day. They will be practicing a relevant song for each days centre of attention. It's not a competition, but they really inspire each other, and have a lot of fun. The duets I think was the last of the series. The crash of thunder at the beginning wasn’t a sound effect, they were in the middle of a storm, with water leaking through the roof, you can see it dripping to the left of Floor on the close-ups, and in the pool behind. The crew must have been a bit alarmed, but they kept going. I like to think of being on those sofas with the other singers, what a lovely idea and so intimate, being just a few feet away from the performers. Floor chose this band for her solo concerts recently. Beste Zangers Eurovision introduction, Floor did "Euphoria"...

Floor gave every song she did on that show, her own flavor and made them her own. Now you say you're not into mainstream music, but what if someone packaged modern pop music as classic Jazz, Blues, Big Band or Soul songs instead. Complete with ridiculously talented singers to boot, then you got yourself a band/musician collective called Postmodern Jukebox. I'll give 2 suggestions in case you're curious what they do. I could make a decent circumstantial evidence case that the series producers for Beste Zangers brought a 'metal' singer (Floor) into the cast for a bit of comic relief... Until after this show, Floor was not known very much at all in her home country. So the other contestants’ reactions are their genuine first time reactions to hearing her range New to the channel, so I don’t know what you have done. I would recommend Floor’s other performances and really just the other singers’ performances from the 2019 season
Indeed before this show, very few people in the Netherlands knew about Floor Jansen. Metal is a kind of music at the fringes of society over here. And to be perfectly honest with you, I 'd like to keep it that way, although I acknowledge that metal singing is almost as difficult as opera singing.
You should really listen to Floor performance of Vilja Lied on Beste Zangers too. The expression on Henk's face during the performance is priceless. Så gör nu det, är du snäll! ;)
Nice Reaction! A suggestion for something different... "High Hopes" by NW from the 'End of an Era' concert, the same concert that NW performs their version of 'Phantom'. It's considered a "tribute cover" of Pink Floyd that is just fantastic!

Of course there is no best singers, each of them is unique, however there are levels, and Dimash is from the next level. Usually for the first time is considered SOS in French. He sings in many languages as well as in many styles: pop, rock, opera, even rap.

Events have delayed it, but it is still planned, and I hope will be recorded to the usual impeccable Nightwish standard.
In this performance, a heavy storm was breaking overhead - so severe that the pavilion they were recording in was bulging with water, which was leaking down in streams all over the place. If you see feet on couches, it isn't for comfort - they are being flooded out. You can actually see the streams of water in a few of the shots and that thunderclap at the start is not an effect - it just arrived at the perfect moment, or the band were just ready and caught the first rumble and made use of it.
TBH, there is not a bad performance in this series, although not all are my preferred genre.
I watched the entire series with subtitles. I wish we had an equivalent here in the UK.
Of course, all Floor's performances are excellent, and all added something to the other participant's realisation of the range of her ability. This was the final icing on the cake, with the last note being a cherry on top!

Henk Poort is 62 and was the Dutch Phantom. He did an another duet with Emma Heesters Vivo Per Lei. He also did the sound of silence (the disturbed version) solo. September 1st 2021 i went to Floor her concert (would have been in october 2020 but because of Covid it changed almost a whole year later) and Henk Poort was special quest. In december 2022 i went to Henk Poort his own concert, was on front row, and was amazing as well! Have a picture with him together after his concert. I love your reaction!
I never listen to mainstream music either, but from this performance you can take any songs Floor sings, they are all differents, all great and really highlight her vocal capacities.
She was the most accomplished in the group, other than Henk. I don't think she would have done that show without Henk. She fangirled on hm.The very first song of the first episode, she sang for him and it blew everyone away. I highly record watching that one. She actually sings in German but you can click on CC and get subtitles.

For me this is the Duet of the Century. Great acting and singing from both of these vocal giants. Henk sang this role for ages in the "Phantom's" Dutch production. We have in Finland exactly the same type of show "Vain elämää" (maybe in Sweden too?). It's very famous. Bestezangers is the original format. There famous singers gather to sing each other's songs or other songs meaningful to them (no competition). All the Floor's performances and some others on this show are excellent. A little patriotic side note: Floor's necklace is provided by the Finnish jewellery "Kareliakoru" from the Nightwish's own series "Evolution by Nightwish". Greetings from the snowy Finland! ⛄👍❄
Best part of this format we see singers try other stuff and genres and step out of their comfort zones. I bet Floor can sing from the telephone book and make me weeping like a little kid.

5 artists participating take turns to sing to one artist every week their version of that artisit's songs or a random song that has a special meaning to that artist.
The singers are rated in performance and emotion they put into the song. In the end, Floor was the "Best Singer" and won in the show.
Phantom of the Opera was their Grand Finale in the show's final episode of the season in December so basically that was a treat for everyone. 😊👍.

Henk was Floor's idol since childhood, so this duet of The Phantom was a dream come true for her. How to start to choose songs from that season of Beste Zangers. Undisputedly this was the best season by far of the series. And not only Floor shined. Of course all the songs by Floor are mindblowing, but all the songs to her are also a must see. For example Hotel California by Rolf Sanchez has a nice Latin take on the original. Another pick would be the duet Vivo Per Lei by Emma Heesters and Henk Poort.

Henk added the distortion as a fun callback to his version of The Sound of Silence that he sang for Floor in her episode. The other artists were drawn in to the emotion of the song by their performance

In the Metal scene that is quite big in the Netherlands. Floor already was a legendary vocalist. I have been a fan of her since 2002. Saw After Forever quite a few times. Highlight was meeting the band in 2007. Drinking a few beers together. But as always the MSM and the popculture radiostation have no attention for it.

Hi Constanza's, as you've likely learned, Floor used to be a vocal coach. One of her students for two years, Noa Gruman, has an up and coming Symphonic/prog metal band called Scardust. Check out their song "Gone" off their new album to hear some high notes and even a growl that could be influenced by Floor. Great musicians too, they are prog, so the song pulls in many musical styles.

I'm also not really a fan of Opera or Musicals, but i like this version, because it's a little bit metal stile, very much. Honestly Floor floored them with every performance on the show. I really recommend every one of her covers from this show. But my favourite was her first performance Vilja Lied. Also, there are versions of her performances with english subtitles by Jenniezelf. They show some stuff before and after the songs. Very worthwhile to check out.
To understand the general bafflement and sense of "Who the hell is this woman?!" that went around the other singers minds, you really need to hear the very first song Floor performed on this show. She also opened the show, being the very first performer. She sang a German aria called "Vilja Lied", in German (Floor sang German, Dutch, English and Spanish on this show), to Henk. Only Tim Aakerman (guy with the Ramones shirt) knew who Floor and Nightwish were and I guess Henk was "aware" of Floor, but to all the others, she was the never-heard-off-before metal chick. And "metal" pretty much had a depreciative connotation there. So, when she opens up with an aria, their brains pretty much short-circuited.
Give it a go, if you will, but you really should check all her performances. She was incredible every single week, not by just singing in different languages, but also different styles. And if you want to hear Floor singing a salsa song (with her own twist) in Spanish, this is the show for it.

Costanza, it was plant for the Nightwish 2020 Amsterdam gig, before the corona crisis spoiled so much in the world, that Henk Poort took the stage with them. After Beste Zangers' Floor succes they created a sold out Floor tour in the Netherlands and Henk Poort joinend in a few songs, one After Forever song. Floor's original band where it all started. ( added later - could have been a Revamp song, the second band) There would have been better camera footages of the last Amsterdam 2020 concerts but Corona prevented this too. So you where rigt with your remark that they should sing together more.

Several Dutch singers from different genres are invited for a holiday in Ibiza,
they get to know each other with picnics and walks on the beach during the day.
They will be practicing a relevant song for each days centre of attention.
It's not a competition, but they really inspire each other, and have a lot of fun.
The duets I think was the last of the series.
The crash of thunder at the beginning wasn’t a sound effect,
they were in the middle of a storm, with water leaking through the roof,
you can see it dripping to the left of Floor on the close-ups, and in the pool behind.
The crew must have been a bit alarmed, but they kept going.
I like to think of being on those sofas with the other singers,
what a lovely idea and so intimate, being just a few feet away from the performers.
Floor chose this band for her solo concerts recently.

Now you say you're not into mainstream music, but what if someone packaged modern pop music as classic Jazz, Blues, Big Band or Soul songs instead.

Indeed before this show, very few people in the Netherlands knew about Floor Jansen. Metal is a kind of music at the fringes of society over here. And to be perfectly honest with you, I 'd like to keep it that way, although I acknowledge that metal singing is almost as difficult as opera singing.

Of course there is no best singers, each of them is unique, however there are levels, and Dimash is from the next level. Usually for the first time is considered SOS in French.
