I can’t wait to see how the heifers respond to their new accommodations. They should love it. You take such good care of everything; the barn will last forever. Much love and respect from Georgia.
I agree. Most likely the waterers are on their own GFI breaker in the panel. So Eric could plug all the heaters in, test them, then turn off the breaker in the panel. Then on that first freezing cold, dreary night, they can turn on the breaker and all the water is warm. Sure beats crawling around on the cold concrete and manure trying to get them all functional.
@@lightbulb1982 i'd say a month or 2 maybe 2.5 months? then depending on the weather if it rains alot or a mild storm they would need to stop temporarily increasing the time to finish construction
Very nice barn! One suggestion that might save you some headache in the future is adding some riprap rock on that sloped section of dirt you have the drain pipe emptying on for the roof gutters. This will help with erosion control.
The new barn sure looks nice. Thank you to you and your dad for filming the building of it from start to finish. It is something how everything comes together.
You know you're going to kick yourself for not installing the heaters now and getting it out of the way! New build looks awesome! Can't wait to pick up a shirt when you start shipping to canada.
You could play cowpat BINGO !... Mark out chalk squares and sell each one. Let a few cows in and whichever square the first cowpat lands in is the winner.....
Well Eric & family, a well designed and very well constructed new barn! The result a very functional and pretty barn, being a luxury for the cows and nice place to work for you as a farmer. Congrats!
Exciting times to see it all come together! You'll have to update your channel profile picture soon as the layout of the farm has evolved! Really like my hat and shirt. Glad to support a family farm! Thank you for all you and your family do.
For a young guy you have a very good work ethic. We love watching your videos they are very informative regarding the way barns are built and work. Keep them coming.👍👍👍👍👍
I too am in awe how fast things have gone & I see I am 50 years to late to start again but I still so like watching all you do, thanks to a very good dad too
I think if it was me I would apply a good layer of flexible caulking around the bottom of those water bowls against the cement. It looked like there was a seal but they never do the job they are supposed to. That way the interior and the electrical will stay moisture free and prevent rust and corrosion years down the road. Easier to do it now when it is clean and dry.
That barn came up so fast, thanks for all that footage along the way, it's like we were there with you. Oh yeah I got my shirts they are great, Thanks Eric🤙🏼🙏
@@royordway9157 i had a pair of crocs gumboots once. They got extra hot durning summer akmost burn our feet hot and tended to be slippery on wet surfaces
That's what I call a gutter. That barn looks terrific and is beautifully thought out. The anti-bird netting to keep the birds out of the rafters is something which will pay long term dividends. Slick how you pulled that merch hat out. Gotta love it.
@10generation Received my hat and shirt last week! Fast delivery! Thank you. My wife just had open heart surgery and received a new cow valve. She wants to come out after recovery and hug a cow. I told her I don’t think they do that at 10th Gen but I’ll ask
there is probably nothing more consistent in my life than watching your Videos for the past 2 years. And International shipping would be great for me as a german!!
In our heifer barn which is almost identical we put 4x6 blocks at the top corner of the gate where it latches. Before we put the blocks in we had a couple heifers stand on the concrete behind the headlocks slip and fall and get tight between the post and gate.
Its always nice to put a date on installs like the waters, and a plaque would be a great addition to the building! wont be long now. also a map of where the utilities run underground, maybe drawn in the rafters.
I'm a little surprised to see that electrical outlet so close to the water source at 6:10. Might be a serious source of electrical shock. Look like a standard non-GFCI outlet with a plastic cover. It may meet code but I wouldn't want that.
hey Eric i just want to say thank you you totaly inspired me to make a farming channel so now im 14 and have a youtube channel with 36 subscribers so thankyou and keep doing what you do
As a plumber I would suggest looking for other alternatives to those pvc shutoff valves you installed. They will be very prone freezing in the winter. I'm not sure if the inside of that box will stay heated. Love the videos!
Thanks for another great video. Nice to see the barn coming together. Would you consider putting a link to where you got the gates, headlocks, waterer etc. Thanks and God Bless!
Those guys did beautiful work on the new barn! BTW Eric - When are you and your Dad going to do another Q&A show? I love hearing the inside dairy farming stuff, as weird as that sounds.
Great job on the barn looks great , I ordered your hat for my dad who has dementia he has always loved hats but your hat he will not let anyone touch or take off his head the staff at the nursing home says they take it off and put it on his nightstand and they leave his room and he puts it back on his head I’ll be ordering another hat for him when you get more in stock awesome hats everyone should own one
Maybe you should put some big tiles or stone under the end of your rainwater drainpipe. To prevent the soil from eroding.
sure surprised me when you pulled out a hat! I was expecting a soda!
So was I, Eric like to surprise us! 😊
I was expecting chocolate milk.
Me too.

That is a nice barn 👍 we are cutting second cutting hay I am 13 and learning how to do it have a nice day
Yeah
Conrad - Become a good farmer like Eric and his dad, you will have done well.

That was awesome. I think he stole that move from either the Welker Farms or the Stradman. Lol

Eric, What an unbelievable extremely nice barn, luxury for the cows. You should literally get an award for such a beautiful barn!

Some good advice, go ahead and set the water trough heaters up now and test (summer or not)...
And it's a lot cleaner now😁😁

What do these heaters look like? It’s something we don’t use here in the UK but should. Might be something to implement in our next project.
I loved how you showed the whole building process from start to finish😍
i see why your channel is growing. You are a good editor and have good content for folks that like dairy/farming vids.
2 vids in 2 days? Woot!
Super video,,,and hahahahaha funny on the hat,,,good humor. ...and sales!

Just in case you feel like you’re not getting enough advice. When you double clamp, the clamps should oppose (2:30).
Explain more...
@@Trey4x4 it provides opposite tension from the clamps as they don't apply the torsion perfectly evenly around the circumference of the clamp.
Looking great Eric! Hope your dad's having a good time on vacation. Can't wait to see the new barn in action.
"Not a Toilet" signs to prevent the confusion we thought didn't exist.
That will be the cleanest the building has ever been! I bet the herd is fighting over who gets to be the first to use the restroom in there!

I was thinking the same thing. Just plug it in now so you don't have to drain and turn the water off.
Not to mention the fact that now you can do it while everything is still clean.
Yep, easier to do it without the critter's helping later on.
Sounds like an idea maybe you could fund them with all that money you’re talking about. It’s easy to say isn’t it?
Guess they waiting to do it in icy drizzly cold day when it gets so cold you can’t feel your fingers
Now when easier and be done with it.
Great video Eric. It's certainly coming together. God Bless your family and your parents.

On that long gutter, having only one downspout is a major oopsie.
It will be fine, that’s not a standard 5 inch gutter, these are allot bigger commercial grade.
I'd agree, I've got long gutters. And only one downspout. You know the rest..... Disaster.
Yes should have one every 40 feet on a commercial building
