Have heard about Tiruvarur Kshetra Panchalinga Kritis of Muthuswamy Dikshitar n even a workshop on the same was conducted few years' back by JT Jeyaraaj Krishnan and Jaysri Jeyaraaj Krishnan (popularly known as Jeyaraaj and Jaysri - leading Veena players) in Mandaveli, Chennai .
Ramakrishnan Murthy presented a comprehensive Ragaalapana. His rendition is so melodious. The beauty of the composition is felt more due to the c lass tone n diction of the vocalist! Needless to say the beauty of the ragam that get enhanced by the thrust on diction.

I may please be corrected ! I understand that this krithi is about Hatkeshwar Mahadev, Basically the Temple is in Vadanagar Gujarat I am not sure that there is a temple in Tiruvarur though it says so Shri PP Narayanswami also does not ive any details may be Vanmikanathar represents the Moolavar is known at Hatakesrvra as it relates to Shiva appearing within an anthill in response to prayers from the Gods.

He shines under "Patali" tree. Hari,Indra and other Gods adore him. He dwells at holy Hataka. He sports as pure conciousness in the form of divine swan. He shines in the minds of millions of devotees. Guha is delighted to see him.

He descended there due to severe penances performed by great sages. He, along with his consort Parasakti shine gloriously on beautiful peaks situated on Meru mountain. Eminent Gurus like Maruti, Nandi, Arjuna, Bharata and others are amazed to witness Lord Siva's Cosmic dance. His smile is charming. His face is beautiful like lotus. He adorns crescent moon . His lotus eyes dispel worst miseries of devotees.

This is said to be composed on the Hatakeshwara Lingam which is inside the Tiruvarur temple, not a separate temple in itself. There are 5 such lingams inside the Tiruvarur Tyagesar temple - Valmikalingam, Hatakeshwara Lingam, Anandeshwara Lingam, Siddhishwara Lingam, and Achaleshwara Lingam. Muthuswamy Dikhithar has composed Kritis on all of these, the other four being Kambhoji (Sri Valmikalingam), Anandeshwarena (Ananda Bhairavi), Siddhishwaraya Namaste (Nilambari), and Sadachaleshwaram (Bhupalam).
