Meeting Roger Waters in Chicago

- I had a chance to "meet" Roger Waters before his show in Chicago June 2012. I did not have anything for him to sign. I just wanted to say Thank you. This is the day I learned that autographs are a business and a rather shady one in my opinion. Too bad these types of people ruin it for the fans.
I guess it's cool to see Waters opening up to his fans a little bit.I couldn't have imagined him doing it years ago.
In all fairness this was years ago. Almost a decade but I agree, I saw he started doing a lot of this during The Wall tour. As for your other comment regarding “autograph hounds” I am not sure you were serious, but yes they were autograph hounds. Some of us in line saw it. Of course I am sure the guy that flipped Roger the middle finger and said “Hey Walters! Fuck you.” was probably and fan from the Pros and Cons days. Not to mention Roger himself noticed it hence “are there any actual fans in this line?!” But what do I know?
Do you mean why Roger shrugged me off? He really didn't. I had nothing for him to sign, and understandably he did not want to shake hands. I thanked him and he acknowledge it. He was as nice as he could be. Still a great moment. He was also upset with all the autograph hounds there.

that's pretty classy of you man, just want to shake his hand and not want an autograph,, and I'm sure he probably valued you more than anyone else in that line,, you stood out as a true fan
He should expect that a lot of those guys are eBay parasites. At his shows, he should only sign for people with tickets so he knows they are real fans.
Nice video. I like the part near the end where I make a face at you while I am on the phone. LOL
love the # 1 t-shirt. Was that purpose?
Yeah...that was pretty funny. I love that we can hear ITF in the back ground.
Hah. Im 95% sure I was talking to Rob on the phone there. Totally random. I missed meeting him when he arrived at Wrigley by 15 seconds...still kinda pissed about that
rock on!!! I only saw twice. One at the Palace of Auburn Hills and once the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Need to find me a Roger Waters # 1 shirt too
Just don't bring him a baseball to sign
Good lord no! Not a dreaded baseball. The dude has even signed a Pulse poster, but never a baseball.
lol yup
If you go to Spread Shirt you can find it. I wasn't able to add the website.
How did you get to meet him? Did he say he was was going to sign autographs at the place you got to meet him, or did he come when you didn't expect?
"Roger gets annoyed." That's nothing special. It's his natural demeanor. So full of rage in his older years.
I can't tell whats going on. Why did he get shrugged off?
Wow was any genuine fans actually in that line..
Yes...there were some legit fans in line. He had an incredible amount of patience to give us a chance to say hello.
Oh yes...I've seen 5 Wall shows, and wore the #1 shirt to all of them. I've always wanted the back story on that shirt which is probably not as interesting as I have imagined it to be all these years. Ha ha ha
We caught word he may come out and say hello to fans. Sadly...a whole bunch of autograph hounds were there.
BrettlRB:Those "autograph hounds"happen to be fans who spent their hard-earned money on his records & shows.
I always wanted to meet him
I use “meeting” him loosely, but it was cool. I just feel bad fo the guy that was disappointed it wasn’t Roger Walters. 😂
@@wilkinsmusicfl4141 it's roger waters
@@amandaalphaville3112 Yeah I know. They guy that was mad was an autograph hound. My guess is someone was going to pay him if he got something signed. Roger cut the line short, and never got to that "fan". Dude didn't even know his name. Ha ha ha
He's so fucking rude but it's hilarious LOL
He hated you
Meh. It is what it is.
