Today my Grandma passed away and last week due to misunderstanding a girl break up the relationship with whom I had planned to marry. And I feeling totally depressed and broken hearted. There was no comfort and support to me. But then I remembered and searched for this childhood hymnal song which had comforted me back then.
Now I'm feeling God is in total control of my life and I'm willing to accept any challenge and tough times of life. Thank you Jesus for strengthening and empowering me with your love and care.
I pray and Ask God to protect all those who are hopeless and depressed and broken hearted people who are searching for some comfort and support emotionally.
May God bless All of us. And we always cling to the old rugged cross.

This hymn is the only one my mother taught me to sing . It was a Sunday but there was so much rain at night at it made it impossible to cross the river to go into village and worship that day so my mother took out her hymn book and sing this and it’ll always be my favorite of all.

This is the first time I've been able to listen to this song since it was sung at my Dad's funeral , 29 years ago. Up until that point I kept a brave face but I broke down uncontrollably when this song was sung . I've never been able to bring myself to hear it. I have done now. I still cried .
