Mercedes 200D W124 like no other limousine was able to combine comfort, excellent build quality and economy of everyday use. Malicious people say that the two-liter naturally aspirated diesel has so much power that during the acceleration the owner feels like getting out and pushing the car... However, the experience behind the wheel is much better. To the speed of about 80 km/h the car accelerates nimbly, in return rewarding this with the fuel consumption of about 6-7 l/100 km, both on the road and in city traffic.

That’s my Merc! ‘91 model, 280K km., veteran car in Norway, very valuable! Best summer fuel consumption, 4.9 Litres per 100 km.
It's beautiful! I have the same model, but a bit older with sadly many signs of usage, but its still pretty in its own way :P My first car. I couldn't wish for a better one. 200D rocks! Yours' immaculate! 💙(Respect). Keep it the way it is, and never let it go :D! Best wishes, Peace :)

Great car but this particular model 200D is underpowered even by the old standards.
Even the torture figure of 126Nm comes in at a high for a diesel 2700rpm
That's not true my friend. It still can perform the traffic pace needs. I drive it daily and have no problem with it's performance, only uphill. It's a revvy machine for a diesel. It can go 4000+ revs. 2600 is a peace of cake to it. I just came home from a trip abroad with 4 people and the trunk full of stuff. Got no problem.. Judge after you used it for days.. It is true that it is not that sporty.. but it does not meant that way. ;)
