Probably because it would've been more or less the same experience as the first Ridge Racer, and around the time Rave Racer came out, Namco were making their arcade ports on the PS1 a bit more in-depth, rather than simply making them straightforward 1:1 ports with a few bells and whistles added. That's probably also the reason why the majority of Ridge Racer Revolution's OST was directly taken from Ridge Racer 2 rather than being entirely original: to put out a Ridge Racer game with more original content (read: three unique track designs), while keeping RR2's OST in to compensate for the lack of a port for that game. Funnily enough, I believe there was going to be a port of Rave Racer on PC, but it was eventually cancelled, just thought i'd mention that while I'm at it
@@noobdave with the amount of existing music tracks already in rage racer, along with the amount of FMV cutscenes in the Grand Prix mode, it would be nigh impossible to fit both rage and rave racer’s soundtracks onto a single CD, unless every music track was heavily compressed and the FMVs removed.

@@wormaheldharrier3122 good point. To be fair I think Rage Racer is a much better game than Rave racer. The courses are more original and interesting
