Great tip. And if you want to take it even further. Remember what they drank so next time they come in you'll be like " Yo Frank kettle martini, slightly dirty, olives on the side?" That blows them away. Especially at a busy bar.
Brilliant. The old tried and tested methods work best. Really cannot understand the logic behind large corporate chains begging people to come in for a free drink on their websites. It is obvious that they have never worked the frontlines. Only question I have, is how to incentivise and motivate the staff into embracing this?
Awesome! This is definitely a good way to grow regulars. I have used folks names for years and it makes it easier to introduce them to other customers for when it is busy- makes it easier to keep things moving! lol, "Say My Name" is not a Rihanna song though!!!!
It's true that during high-volume times behind the bar it will be tougher to sit and chat, but that doesn't mean you can't say, "Hey Bob, how's it going? What can I get for you?" Still using his name. In addition, most bars and restaurants have tons of down time. It's not like the movies where everything is a club and the bartenders are crazy slinging drinks. There is usually plenty of time to take 30 seconds to have a quick chat with someone.
You are doing very good work brother 🙏🏾
Can't believe I am only the 73rd like on this video. Definitely one of the most underrated videos on UA-cam at this point in time IMO.

Love it, bartenderzzz...great tip.
@@DaveAllredTheRealBarman Thanks Dave. Love your videos bro!
Old school bartending technique, everybody loves the sound of their own name! You can usually get the name off a credit card too.
Good tip Jack. Very true.

But the type of people that only show up for discounts and free stuff can be entitled, rude, and cheap. Word of mouth is the best type of promotion!

Damn! You're right. I need to update my hip hop knowledge. It's "What's My Name?" Thanks for setting that straight and for stopping by, Atlblacklion.
Do you really get to talk to customer a lot ? What about high volume bars ? Do you really have time for them ?
