Alright NL, a few tips for ya. 1. That blue bar that charges up improves your signature attack, when you get it full, the next use of your signature does something special dependent on the spell you choose 2. Stunning bosses - when you fight bosses, they glow yellow when they are intending to attack, afterwards when the glow goes away, hit for a stun. The number of stars floating above them indicates how long they will be stunned 3. You can't start with anymore Arcana than your basic, dash, normal, and signature. 4. The boss room starts with more enemies if you haven't cleared the floor, indicated by the skulls on the tombstone 5. The higher you get up, the more abilities enemies get 6. The first council member always does 3 attacks then is vulnerable, the second will do 4 attacks then be vulnerable, then the third will do 5 attacks and be vulnerable (vulnerable to stuns as per #2) Hope it helps! P.S. Loving the series and hope to see much more Wizard of Legend content!
Also to the right if the dungeon entrance portal is a vendor who sells cloaks. These cloaks give straight passive stat increases. Also you can try out your arcana before entering the dungeon so you know what they do ahead of time.
Miniboss strat: hit the miniboss when it nolonger has the yellow outline, commonly after it launches an attack. You get an autostun and free combo if you manage your cooldowns well. Main bosses follow the same concept, however you have to wait until the end of their combo before the yellow outline vanishes.
It gets borring real fast.Also,3rd boss is insane, does rotations like 4 times faster than first boss and takes 4x as much to go into vulnerable state...
i bought it as well, its for sure worth the buy. its only 15 bucks... and im having a ton of fun with it. im an ice boi, the spells are just too good for me to use anything else so far lol.
I love how this game has some interesting diversity based on the spells you get familiar with. Until I got void spells, my setup was Ice daggers(basic), Frost feint(dash), Bouncing surge(standard), and Obsidian cascade(Signature). The only one I'd consider swapping out was the standard for an ice spear, and even then I never really did.
"Have you decided on which field of the arcane you want to study, my pupil?" Yes sir, I was thinking Earth Magic "What fuels your passion for Earth Magic?" Did you ever have those hard plastic oversized hulk fist gloves when you were a kid?
So I'll just assume he will, from now until forever, have the "increase lightning damage" thing equipped instead of some other thing and then keep running into the dungeon without a lightning spell equipped.
"Ice" in this game is classed as Aqua, and is in fact strong against fire. Fire is strong against Air. Air beats Earth. Earth beats Lightning. Lightning beats Aqua.
Hey NL, Do you see the 3 skulls in the map? That represents how many enemies are left in the level. The 3 skulls in the boss stone are the same and represent how many enemies will spawn with the boss. Kill as many enemies in the level before the boss and it will be easier to take on.
1. If you give the vampire lady one of your arcana it heals you for some health and gives you a special relic. 2. The blue bar under your health fills as you deal damage with your arcana, draining while you're not attacking. Once it's full you can cast the strong version of your signature arcana. 3. When bosses/minibosses have a yellow outline it means they can not be stunned by attacking them. Once the outline disappears you can hit them a bunch to stunlock them. The first main boss will do three attack cycles before the outline disappears, the second main boss will do four etc. 4. When an enemy is stunned (the stars spinning above their heads) you can lengthen the stun by mixing your attacks up and comboing the enemy (think left click -> right click -> E -> left click -> R for example). As long as you're not spamming the same move you're fine. 5. Water prison does exactly what you think it does but some enemies are immune to the stun. Hope that covered some of the basics and some of your questions. Loving the series dude :)
6. get robes, the starters dont have bonuses, the others do 7. "ice" is "water" not "ice" -> fire dmg is bad, lightning is good 8. right click, q, e and r are all the same category of spell. The only difference is that "q" can be charged up to be ulted, is enhanced from the start, and is more expensive to unlock for the starting loadout. Also e and r cant be equiped in the starting loadout. You need to find stuff for those buttons
a little tip: one the first set of floors elemental bosses do three attacks and then rest for a bit. that's a window for you to stunlock them and do damage. (on the second set of floors they do four attacks, on the third they do five and at the final boss just abandon hope)
How to win: 1. Buy yellow awe robe for increased crit chance and damage. 2. Equip the dark katana starting relic to triple your crit chance with melee. 3. Use any melee arcana setup. My personal preferences are the spinning firesword for signature and seismic leap for normal. No problem
my favorite thing to run is probably the "awe" (yellow) robe which increases crit chance and damage, vampire glasses (make it so you heal when you crit) and arcana thats hits over and over so i can heal a ton.
blue bar charges as you do combos. when full you start glowing and have the boosted signature. the big bosses do 3 attacks then pause, this is your chance to attack and stun them for some damage. for normal bosses they poss briefly after every attack. you can tell they are viable to stun when they dont have a glowing border and this is when you should get a hit in to start a mini combo.
I'm sure people have mentioned it, but that glowing yellow outline on bosses is important. Once you learn mechanics, bosses are incredibly easy. It's the basic enemies that are difficult imo
DAE actually a solid state of water could be produced if you mix in some form of gelatinous material, that way keeping it water but in a form that solidifies without making it ice.
Probably will get backlogged but the blue bar you thought was mana is the signature charge bar that kinda works like a combo meter that when it is full, your signature gets boosted like that
By the by, Dark Katana combined with Awe (which is a cloak u can buy that increases crit chance and crit damage) is insanely powerful. My personal favorite build uses these with the basic Wind Slash, Air Burst for dash, Tearing Whirlwind as my standard and Spiraling Typhoon as my signature. These all count as melee spells and will crit almost every time, plus if you can find some Vampire Eyeglasses during your run you'll heal a ton as well.
NL here are some tips after a boss does its big combo they are vulnerable to you were you can stun them and pummel them. So dodge big attacks until they loose the gold aura around them. The Counsel Members attacks do a fuckload of damage so you cant afford to get hit by them.
I recently had a run that was going outstandingly: Surefire Rocket and Infinity Marble; Vampire's Glasses and Singing Bowl with Shock Assault as my Signature; Spark Contact, Fueled Berserk AND Magnetic Follow-up... I even had the Golden Saber of Envy to boost my damage on top of all the healing signature crits! It was ended by a level 2 Burst Mage teleporting into me so I would hit every single projectile he was throwing at me. On the bright side, I did get recordings of me destroying a level one miniboss and Atlas with that incredible setup.
I don't fully remember but I'm sure that npc that asks for one of your skills and gives you the potion relic, it gives you hp when you go down to the next floor, roughly like 125 hp
Duuude you have to wait for the mini bosses and bosses to lose their "shield". on that pause, you hit them, and then combo their face. the first boss do 3 attacks and give you a window for a combo. the 2nd do 4 attacks and etc. try to get the water shield dash, it's really op. The shock assault is really good aswell, and works greatly as a signature arcana.
This feels soo much like Path of Exile, where you have a couple of Arcana and try to build a combo/strategy around those, with 2-3 side ones to fill other roles like def or utility. Obviously this is a per-rune basis, but I like what I'm seeing.
I don't really understand how you're supposed to use Ion Spike or what it means when it says the orbs sync up. Is it just a linear blast with three charges or is there more to it?
Epsilon Rose You can set up 3 blasts in any direction, independently, and they will all fire at once after a couple of seconds. The arcana recharges each blast individually, so you could use a single one soon after firing all of them, or wait longer so they all recharge.
@northernlion Little fact, bosses in this game show when they will attack, when they have a yellow aura around them they will usually launch 3 attacks, when this is gone you can hit them with any arcana you will stun them for a certain amount of time, allowing you to combo them with all of your arcana. This works for both normal lvl bosses and stage bosses, they all have a yellow aura but if you hit them when they don't have it around them you can stun them and perform an easy boss killing combo, my opinion is melee based arcana such as Blazing Blitz and Shock assult can melt bosses in 50 hit combos or more. Like this so that the egg can see it.
I got some tips for you the blue bar under your health is what determines when your super is ready you can channel it by doing damage and will slowly deteriorate when you damage is being done when dashing over obstacles like holes in the floor you can walk into the edge without falling off because of an invisible wall but platforms that are completely surrounded by such obstacles have no invisible wall. There are usually three shops on a for one red one green and one purple the red shop is the cursed shop it has three items to chose from that are free but all have side effects and other rooms similar to it, green shops always give you one health pot that cost 100 coins and relics that have unique effects and purple shops carry arcana one enhanced arcana and one enhanced arcana an enhanced arcana is always its super version( the version of the spell when used with a full blue meter), one last thing your dodge doe does not have I-frames, you will get hit if you doge through attacks hopefully you see this and keep playing this game on the channel.
the arcana for hp chick gives you some hp and a relic (some relics like thoughts of critical are amazing.....(there is a pill she gives you that makes all attacks do critical
Dont waste your gems on signature (golden) arcana, you get them after every successful elemental boss fight. Spend them on basic, and regular arcana, relics, or mage outfits.
So... few things that i don't know if you have figured out... but i think are good tips and some mechanics the game has.... 1)If you hit an enemy immediately after they attack you can stagger them 2) there's an enemy indicator at the bottom at the map... if you eliminate enemies in the map the boss loses force I think that would help you out a little bit... also the big boses (the kings and queens that you fight latter at levels 3 6 9) does 3, 4 and 5 attacks respectively before you can stagger them
Also that thing that the infinity marvel does is... that you have that bar down the life, that fills with blue... when its full you can use your signature move to deal more damage... but if you don't fill it up it starts to drain... the marvel prevents that draining of power and keeps you blue bar up till you use it
Upgraded rock fist + silver lining axe curse(boost all attackspeed for all arcana highly but brutally lowering player movementspeed) = Godlike, I punched em so fast I flew the the bosses man but the damn Earth Lord who was the last boss of the first stage or floor, bested me by a tinny bit of health, The point is if the curse dude has a silver axe as one of the three items give it a shot but know you pretty much have to dash everywhere cause the walking boost only puts movementspeed back to normal
You know you can test out your arcana on the dummies in both starting areas, right? You can see how it moves enemies and exactly what damage it does, it's kind of weird that you got multiple new arcana and didn't check to see what any of them actually did, instead just picking one based on the icon and vague description.
NL trying going as long as possible without buying health potions so you can improve your load out which will in turn also help you take less damage if you only buy health you will eventually lose because of the games increasing difficulty luv u nl
Alright NL, a few tips for ya.
1. That blue bar that charges up improves your signature attack, when you get it full, the next use of your signature does something special dependent on the spell you choose

This was really helpful for me! Thanks boyo
Helped me, thanks.... Prolly won't help NL though ;)
Like to make sure egg sees
Also to the right if the dungeon entrance portal is a vendor who sells cloaks. These cloaks give straight passive stat increases. Also you can try out your arcana before entering the dungeon so you know what they do ahead of time.
Yo dawg. Hit him up on Twitter, not UA-cam.
"Thay went extremely well until we died."
Sounds like a lot of experiences can be summed up like that
I think NL could be a God at every game he tries if he just looked at the screen while playing
The trick that we haven't discovered yet, is that egg is actually 100% blind.
beatlesrol but…TOMOOOOOOO
Nah hockey on 2nd screen
I get it when he is streaming because I assume he is looking at chat, but it definitely makes less sense when he is solo recording.
Earth-Fire-Fire-Ice, never bothered to remove the Lightning boost from the last run. >_>

Let us enthusiastically proceed in a forward manner! Really love this series so far.
Ranged enemies - "if you stay away from them, they cannot hurt you" -NL 2018
Miniboss strat: hit the miniboss when it nolonger has the yellow outline, commonly after it launches an attack. You get an autostun and free combo if you manage your cooldowns well. Main bosses follow the same concept, however you have to wait until the end of their combo before the yellow outline vanishes.
"Probably not going to use too much melee" proceeds to use mostly melee
Brandon Bulthuis And why didn't he use dark Katana?
Episode 752, NL finally realizes he can buy new robes
Season 3 Episode 173: Realises robes have different effects
Episode 69: NL realises how the stun mechanic works.
Love this series, hope you don't let the few people who think the game is bad talk you into quitting.
You legit convinced me to get this game btw, I really love it, so thank you NL
Was it worth buying?
It gets borring real fast.Also,3rd boss is insane, does rotations like 4 times faster than first boss and takes 4x as much to go into vulnerable state...

"[ranged enemies] If you stay away from them, they cannot hurt you."
I'm not entirely sure thats how that works.
"My new years resolution" Damn the backlog really is long
Considering this game launched 05/15/2018, it cant be that long.
HolyCrapItsThatGuy woosh.exe has crashed: not enough resources available.
Nl, just so you know certain other robes have different effects
instead of just saying they do you should probably list them here he's not gonna look it up himself XD he's to eggy to do that
barbarianbijuu Nah, dont wanna backseat too hard, let egg use the wiki if he wants.
barbarianbijuu To be honest their abilities are in the name, like grit being armor, etc
"I thought his name was Creampie Collector' LMAO

oohhhHHHh
I have 10 hours in the game at this point and never realized that. This is extremely helpful.
Been waiting for this one all day !

Love this series, do not stop uploading EGG.
At first I was a little ehhhh but I'm a lot more impressed with the variability in spells now that I've seen some. I hope that variability continues
Dude, enhanced rock fists + dark katana + combo gloves + enraged berserk is a punching galore
a little tip: one the first set of floors elemental bosses do three attacks and then rest for a bit. that's a window for you to stunlock them and do damage. (on the second set of floors they do four attacks, on the third they do five and at the final boss just abandon hope)

So has he still not figured out that you can stun a boss when the yellow aura drops? Or is the egg just rotten?
my man you took the words right out of my mouth
I bet it is because of backlog. He knows it probably right now, i hope.
NL, your vids always make me smile. Thanks for the great work!!
That series of events at 10:05 Was hilariously awesome

7:50 NL briefly panics upon somehow seeing his stage name on screen.
So the jumpy boys are CC immune, they dont get knocked back, frozen, or imprisoned. You are welcome mister thernlion.
Also the bosses get stunned after attacks when they lose the neon outline.
Nor Thernlion was a strange...being
Yes! I thank you, most noble of entertainers! I have prayed to the gamegods that you would play this game and here we are!
I'm sure people have mentioned it, but that glowing yellow outline on bosses is important. Once you learn mechanics, bosses are incredibly easy. It's the basic enemies that are difficult imo
Funny as it sounds, watching this 5 years later got me back into the game, and I am loving it (and doing terribly at it)
“An element for every season!” There’s five elements...
That being said this isn’t unwatchable like usual so good job
DAE actually a solid state of water could be produced if you mix in some form of gelatinous material, that way keeping it water but in a form that solidifies without making it ice.
NL, the doctor takes one of your arcana, heals you a little and gives you one of her special relics.
the arble means even if you dont use your ''super'' powered up spell right when it goes up you can use it later it will stay up and ready
So happy you started playing this game, cuz now I bought it and can't wait to try it out!
HE'S DONE IT
Earth Fists + Berserker Rage is a game-winning combo.
Id love to learn the creampie collectors lore
Ladies?
same
I wonder if there's some "Devil Deal"... or "Chambered" scenario with the mini and actual bosses in this game
Probably will get backlogged but the blue bar you thought was mana is the signature charge bar that kinda works like a combo meter that when it is full, your signature gets boosted like that

Loving this Wizard of Legend series egghead!
half an hour wizard of legend - lets go bois
Just a heads up, the outfits you buy in the town area aren't just cosmetic, they have straight buffs you can use.
That Lucien Bouchard quip was appreciated
I don't fully remember but I'm sure that npc that asks for one of your skills and gives you the potion relic, it gives you hp when you go down to the next floor, roughly like 125 hp

The shock assault is really good aswell, and works greatly as a signature arcana.
The fist seems pretty strong, I wonder if you can get permanently enhanced arcana
I wonder, how long it will take for Egg to notice, that blue bar fills with each hit and it's what is used for powering signature arcana...
Looks like there's a lot of potential for a ton of fun builds in this.
I chocked on my cottage cheese with almonds and honey with the creampie collector bit, I friggin' love NL
Water prison seems so good with bosses when they lose their “poise” (yellow) since it’ll stun!!
Loving the series
Once NL uploads his 15th episode and he's still positive about the game (i.e. the honeymoon period is kind of over) I'll buy this game.
"Welcome to my shop adventurer, it is I, the Creampie Collector. Feel free to browse my delicious cream filled wares."
This feels soo much like Path of Exile, where you have a couple of Arcana and try to build a combo/strategy around those, with 2-3 side ones to fill other roles like def or utility. Obviously this is a per-rune basis, but I like what I'm seeing.
Go to the top right in the town NL there is another shop up there you are missing!
this man will love glacial cross, bet in a future vid
The potion lady doesn't do potions she does relics. That potion was a relic.
Love this gmae hope you make it a long series man
Loving the series nl
I don't really understand how you're supposed to use Ion Spike or what it means when it says the orbs sync up. Is it just a linear blast with three charges or is there more to it?
Epsilon Rose You can set up 3 blasts in any direction, independently, and they will all fire at once after a couple of seconds. The arcana recharges each blast individually, so you could use a single one soon after firing all of them, or wait longer so they all recharge.
Is there any advantage to them syncing their fire? Does it trigger of the first or last orb dropped?
I haven't had water prison yet so don't quote me but it looks like you can have two enemies imprisoned at a time judging by the HUD
@northernlion Little fact, bosses in this game show when they will attack, when they have a yellow aura around them they will usually launch 3 attacks, when this is gone you can hit them with any arcana you will stun them for a certain amount of time, allowing you to combo them with all of your arcana. Like this so that the egg can see it.
I don't think anyone got your Lionel Richie reference.. but I did. Since I listened to that song just a few hours ago today.
Little tip for ya: if a boss stops glowing yellow, dealing damage to them will stun them ^^
“I don’t think Elon’s well liked on Twitter” this aged legendarily
I got some tips for you the blue bar under your health is what determines when your super is ready you can channel it by doing damage and will slowly deteriorate when you damage is being done when dashing over obstacles like holes in the floor you can walk into the edge without falling off because of an invisible wall but platforms that are completely surrounded by such obstacles have no invisible wall. I LOVE THIS
Dash more. Walking away from enemies just doesn't cut it as they can still hit you.
I watch NL and I can't help but expand my vocabulary with words I'd forgotten to use and wait for song knock offs xD good job dude...
Patrick Joyner thanks to NL i use "release me from this mortal coil" more often than Id like to admit
48 Pages of Relics, geez, that seems like alot
A Wizard's Lizard of Legend VS. A Wizard of Legend's Lizard.
1000% could watch you do 800+ videos of this, I did view over 700 of your Isaac videos, much love & support (theguiltyhipster)
the arcana for hp chick gives you some hp and a relic (some relics like thoughts of critical are amazing.....(there is a pill she gives you that makes all attacks do critical
NL should remember when he did a 50 hit combo and he should use that as his starting layout
Does he know about the person selling robes in the main town? I've not seen if he's found him or not.
also when bosses are outlined in yellow that means that they cannot be stunlocked!
Did he just die from running straight into the attack with the dash instead of running away?
I've been waiting for the video to start with "so I was reading the comment section and..." since the second episode, praying for episode 4
also scales of babylon is the bestt
What I like to do in this gane is go with an elemental build, just because its cool
more of this!
GOOD SERIES
30:16 and then 30:20 true poetry happens
Dont waste your gems on signature (golden) arcana, you get them after every successful elemental boss fight. Spend them on basic, and regular arcana, relics, or mage outfits.
So... few things that i don't know if you have figured out... but i think are good tips and some mechanics the game has....
1)If you hit an enemy immediately after they attack you can stagger them
2) there's an enemy indicator at the bottom at the map... if you eliminate enemies in the map the boss loses force
I think that would help you out a little bit... also the big boses (the kings and queens that you fight latter at levels 3 6 9) does 3, 4 and 5 attacks respectively before you can stagger them
Also that thing that the infinity marvel does is... that you have that bar down the life, that fills with blue... when its full you can use your signature move to deal more damage... but if you don't fill it up it starts to drain... the marvel prevents that draining of power and keeps you blue bar up till you use it
Upgraded rock fist + silver lining axe curse(boost all attackspeed for all arcana highly but brutally lowering player movementspeed) = Godlike, I punched em so fast I flew the the bosses man but the damn Earth Lord who was the last boss of the first stage or floor, bested me by a tinny bit of health, The point is if the curse dude has a silver axe as one of the three items give it a shot but know you pretty much have to dash everywhere cause the walking boost only puts movementspeed back to normal

Does this game have more than 3 bosses because it seems extremely easy if thats the case. I Want to see at least 9.
NL trying going as long as possible without buying health potions so you can improve your load out which will in turn also help you take less damage
if you only buy health you will eventually lose because of the games increasing difficulty
luv u nl
